Are Hakeem Jones and Hakeem Nicks related? Not as obvious as Gerald Dixon and Gerald Dixon, Jr. who play for the Gamecocks…Big G and Little G and their Dad’s name is also Gerald Dixon…Same Daddy, different Mama…

highstickParticipantDang you, Plywood! That is totally unfair to those of us who have been there!! Ever go have a brew in the bottom of the James Bay Inn? If not, get them to tell you the story about the ghost…
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantWho knows…but I’m sure not looking forward to having to deal with a bunch of “tiny dicks” from EZU one week end and then “moronic knuckle draggers” who can’t hold their liquor” the next…
You guys should be thanking me…I went out to mow grass when it looked like “Knuckle Dragger Southern” was in control…Came back in and it was 20-10.. 20-17 when I got out of the shower, put my NCSU tee shirt on and the rest is history.
That was pretty damned bad last Thursday. I went back over the depth chart today and the glaring part is last years front 4. If you think Clowney didn’t play, maybe he didn’t have to because he had some other folks who would stop the run and pass rush while everyone else was double and triple teaming Clowney. I sure would like to hear JD’s and Swearinger’s comments on Thursday night.
Thank God for Jawja though…I don’t have to listen to “kitty crap” this week!

highstickParticipantFunny…McEvoy left SC because he wasn’t going to play, plays DB for Wiscy last year, and is now kicking Les Miles teeth!

highstickParticipantThank you Georgia.. FSU …..laying a brick??

highstickParticipantSweet win. Beats the hell out of the ass whupping I watched Thursday night!

highstickParticipantAgreed on missing the woods…I sat in a tree stand many times with a good book and just enjoyed being there…

highstickParticipantDo they comment on anything? I thought they just “moved on”…

highstickParticipantEver hunt with a Boykin? I’ve got a friend who raises them, but getting one is like buying a Big Green Egg…
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantReminds me of a former client who had a huge amount of timber land in eastern SC…He had to rush a sale and timing probably was not the best, but they’d spotted those woodpeckers that were on the endangered list on the property and rammed the sale through before the environmental types could mess it up and stop the sale…Seems like that track was in the ball part of in excess of 200,000 acres.
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantI skipped to the bottom to respond before I saw the other responses re hunting leases, but I’d agree totally. Wouldn’t be so danged high per acre if we didn’t have stupid guys leasing land…Used to be able to lease for $3 an acre until the Floridians and idiots ran the prices up…BTW, I’d rather hunt turkeys that “snack birds” even though it may be more “gentlemanly”.
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantDo keep in mind that the mental health reform started under a Demcratic administration….It’s kept me busy for 15 years sorting through this stuff.
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantWow…the freakin’ deer and turkey hunting lease on 79,000 has more value than the entire sales price. Not sure of all the math, but Bill’s numbers make sense and I’ve had enough experience in the tax side of timber sales to smell a rat! Timber prices certainly go up with maturity.
The only thing I can think of that would adversely affect it would be pine beetles so that you’d have to sell it for pulp which is less.
$2 acre a year for deer rights is well below the market which would exceed the sales price. I can guarantee you that we paid more than that per acre on a 48,000 acre lease on the Pee River back in the late 80’s/early 90’s.
Cowdog, you talking about the phosphate mining???
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantIt does not sound like crickets…my snoring would drown out the sound of crickets!

highstickParticipantI can cook good Eastern NC BBQ in South Carolina…I’m still waiting on a good football team at NC State ‘cepting the White Shoes and the Cowdog era…
“Tulip Lips”? Holy Cowabunga! I always called him “Mush Mouth”!

highstickParticipantOK… Labor Day is less than a month away…
…and, among other things, that means some of us might go Dove Hunting…So I was thinking… some of you guys might get a BIG BANG out of this…
These guys did!Wear your hard hats!

highstickParticipantPsychology 101…
If you start with a cage containing five monkeys, and inside the cage hang a banana on a string from the top, and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.
As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the monkeys with cold water.
After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result — all the monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.
Now, put the cold water away.
Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him.
After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.
Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new one.
The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment — with enthusiasm — because he is now part of the “team.”
Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by the fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.
Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.
Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.
Why, you ask? Because in their minds, that is the way it has always been! This, my friends, is how the House and Senate operates… and this is why, from time to time:
ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME !
My political, but Bi Partisan, commentary of the day.

highstickParticipantThat’s cause it was a Cougar versus a Cougarette, Cowdog! I used to know a few of those in Raleigh back in the day of the Carolina Cougars…

highstickParticipantTough to tell the difference. All those white boys look the same.

highstickParticipantHee Hee, you guys are finally finding out about “the elderly”…But remember, it’s all in your body, not in your mind…
Bill, it was really good to edjekate you on the “bad side of corn”…Get an attack of the diverticulitis and it’ll bring you to your knees. Mine was mild and I cannot imagine a bad case of it…I blame it on Texas food~~~

highstickParticipantHere in Victoria, BC – the Bermuda of Canada – I don’t know anyone who has AC. We just keep the windows open and let that cool sea breeze flow through.
It was a sweltering 75 degrees yesterday though, we barely made it through the day.
You’re really pissing me off!!! Was there in June of 2013, spent the night in the James Bay Inn, visited the Bouchard Gardens, drank a lot of good beer, and whiffed some “really good stuff” coming out of a van walking down the street! I asked my wife “if she smelled that” and she said ‘what”~!!! She’s forgotten the good times of our youth~!
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantMy house is very comfortable right now…cause my wife’s not home messin’ with the A/C!

highstickParticipantIf you ever chase the life cycle of corn through a cow, pig, chicken, etc…you’ll understand it does not digest very well..I didn’t learn that at State though and certainly not in the School of Engineering..
"Whomp 'em, Up, Side the Head"!
highstickParticipantI’ll take yesterday’s weather all year long…but we already had the rain the night before…Felt a little bit like the Bay Area in San Fran~~
