Newbies! My residence in Atlanta was the year before the Braves moved, Turner Field was new, Underground had not been built, and Tommy Aaron was playing for the Crackers in the International League. And then some guy named Johnson decided he wanted to send a whole lot of guys to SE Asia. So much for seeing Season One of the Hotlanta Braves.

… and speaking of statements…
1. The kid from OSU ain’t a third string QB… He’s a first string QB at any D1 school… except Oregon and FSU…
2. Oregon averaged an offensive play every 20 seconds over the entire game when they had the ball … including the last twenty or so minutes when they got the big lead and played ‘slowdown’ to run the clock…
Let’s forget for a minute, the physical impact of that on the Defense… because the “mental impact” is potentially much more devastating. There is no way … the kid can process the last play and get his head ready for the next one that fast…
3. Oregon’s high powered Offensive had absolutely nothing to do with FSU turnovers… Oregon’s Defense was the real deal and Ohio State better be worried about that as much if not more than the Ducks’ Offense.
4. There’s very little chance Oregon will repeat it’s performance last night next week… but the same could be said for OSU too.
So the NC is a tossup… that will be determined by the Coaches not the players… unless the game comes down to last four minutes with both teams in position to win… then maybe some player makes either the greatest play or the worse mistake of his career and that determines the outcome.
Either way… the game should be worth watching at least until somebody goes up three TDs…
I got so fed up with watching Oregon “hold” and get away with it play after play…This danged “high powered” offense doesn’t work if you call the offense for holding. The game is being “dumbed down” just like basketball was to appease those who can’t play the game “within the rulebook”…I absolutely detest college basketball now and if the trend continues, I’ll be watching hockey again on a full time basis…

One game don’t mean squat and it never did before…but now you have the #4 team claiming they are relevant…Oh, well, you guys wanted this “freak show”…All Urban did was piss off Saban…the question is can Urban handle the heat again or will he fold the tent when the going gets tough?

Keeping it classy, Aggies! Nuttin’ but a bunch of thugs who pretend they are some sort of military school…My arse! Just a bunch of snot nosed Texans in ROTC! I rest my case which was confirmed in March by a female grad Vet student at Aggieland…When I told her my Army roommate was an Aggie, her response was “did he have teeth”? It took me a while to think through that one…Did she mean “were they rotten and decayed” OR “had someone knocked them out”. But my response was “yes, he had teeth, but no brains”~

I was there last March and that is one barren piece of forsaken land with few trees in site. I looked at a lot of the new construction because there was little else to look at other than the GHW Bush Library/Museum which was interesting.
There engineering abilities may be ok, but they are one strange breed of characters. One of my Army roomies was an Aggie and I had enough of their childish nonsense back then.

I get cantankerous with liberals and RINO’s, and “regularity” isn’t a problem, I think I am going to retire again for real after Christmas, play more golf, shoot more Bambies, and start training a couple of grandkids to hit a baseball.
Cool thing about being “away” frim the summer of 65 until the fall of 70 was State grew up from a small school to a large university with women.

I might be getting old, but I am still a catankerous ol SOB, Bill. Got your email about Gee and I am digging back through a couple of old Agromeks when they still had pictures of every student and team pictures. Donnan’s bro in law was the School Board Superintendant when I lived in Florence SC and he was a cient and in Rotary with me. If I can’t find in a old Agromek, I may be able to call him because he was from Burlington too.Actally a guy who lived next to me in Riddick was a wrestler from Burlington. Name does not ring a bell, but could be because I have known several Gee’s. And Yes Cowdog is just a “youngun'”.

No ACC team has beaten South Carlina in 9 years other than Clem’s Son and that has happenened only 3 times. What else you got, Rick?

I have a deceased Tar Heel buddy that used to take me to the Rams Club before the State-Carolina game. Gosh knows he was a good guy and not a typical jerk, but he was die hard Blue and White, but he did grow up next door to Everette Case in Raleigh so he did have an appreciation and not a disdane for the Wolfpack…just he was a Carolina fan…I hope he’s “up there” watching all of this and just chuckling now rather than worrying about crap back here on Earth…I think the last time he took me to the Rams Club, the Goat mascot started harrassing me…I was laughing, but after thinking about it, I don’t think he found any humor in me being in there…But, he’s also the kid who got “hit by a vehicle” and was killed the next year.
Here’s to you both…No offense taken, but I still enjoy beating your team while I’m a “heathen back here on Earth”! Go Pack!!
