Back to Finley…well who knew? Come to find out there are already odds out for next year’s Heisman. The favorite is Jake Fromm. You are right, Ryan Finley is not mentioned. However, it is largely a popularity contest this early. The big names from the big schools. Of course, I know it stays that way to a large extent. It is hard to break through. However, I did read that there have been many instances where someone not mentioned in the preseason did work their way into Heisman contention. So I am going to hold out hope that we can have a good enough season and Finley can put up the numbers to work his way into the conversation.
Watch out NCSU RPI 75 and 2-2 in the ACC with quality wins.

Just when I was starting to like the Braxton/Batts combo…It will be good to get Markell back though and I am glad for him to get past his issue. Let’s see if we can get another win without him tonight

Well, I said he would be in the hunt for the Heisman, not necessarily that he would win it. To state it better, I believe he certainly has the chance to be in the Heisman conversation. Top five would get him a trip to New York. Maybe it could be more like Ted Brown. Nobody expected him to win it, but he did receive quite a few votes and was recognized as a contender. What would it take? We would have to win and win big. With that would come the numbers Finley would need. He will have multiple targets and an offense capable of putting up more yards and touchdowns than this year. He has another year of experience in this offense and minus JaySam most everybody back. I can see it happening.
Simplistically speaking you need a 0.500 conference record
But would a .500 ACC record not get us or Wake into the RPI top 50?
