Gotta love Cal’s interviews. Now play ball! I still get pumped up just like I’m ready to run down the tunnel.
It is shaping up to be a special day. The #12 Heels taking a severe whipping from Pitt. I suppose that qualifies as a wtf loss for them? But not really.
Thank you, xphoenix, for that excellent analysis of each possession down the stretch. The guys were in a position to make plays but you can’t make them all, and it’s not like they were not trying or were out of position. 23 other teams have tried to beat UVa and only one has done it, but as Coach said, we are very very close. Those who call this season “dismal”, “a failure”, “fire the coach”, “hire Archie”, have a very short memory. Disappointing yes, only because we have been so close to several huge wins that got away. But many of you seem to think you speak for all Wolfpackers in abandoning the season, the team, and the coach, but it is not true. I don’t think this is going to be our year to make it to the dance, but I’m not giving up yet and I haven’t forgotten the last 25 years. This team has been a joy to watch and follow, even with the excruciating losses. It is a program we can be proud of.
Not to mention they missed one that should have been called against WF after looking at the replay on that one too.
That call was ridiculous. I don’t see how the referees have a chance to go look at the replay, and still make calls like that. That was just incidental contact Martin headed the other way, been happening since basketball started.
I still ain’t giving up. We can beat Louisville. Still got some opportunities left, and I’m with Jimmy V.
We played really great defense, we rebounded great, we just came up short against a very good team. The missed 3’s in crunch situations kill us.
I thought before the WF game that it was a must win, do or die, but it really was not. We still got a shot. Even if we lose tonight, we still have some more opportunities, and I ain’t giving up til it’s over. You never know, we’ve done it before, let’s get this one.
