We all know that Gottfried and staff just do not teach effective defense. It takes more effort and basketball savvy to play D than offense. You will win with effective D. V understood this and made up for it with junk D’s that often worked to his liking.
I hope for his sake that Gottfried works harder on D or he will be on the outside looking in sooner than he thinks.
I think two outcomes are possible. We come out pissed as Hell and blow the U out of the water or we have an emotional hangover and lose by 7-10 pts. Your guess is as good as mine.
We lose big to a bunch of cheaters. Gott gets the blame and it is the start of the end of Gott and on to the next savior of our basketball program. The cycle continues while they continue to CHEAT to win in Orange Co.
All of my money is going to football and will continue to do so. I think we can be successful in football easier than in baskeball because of the officiating fiasco that is the ACC.

Hope I am wrong but I got a bad feeling that the weekend took a lot out of our sails.This is the reason I have been saying we will not win more than 5 conference games…too many liabilities and a big one is a point guard.
I completely agree with Fastback68….the ACC refs will nullify anything he tries to do once ACC play starts. He will spend the majority of his time on the pine watching.
Call me a sceptic but I will believe otherwise when I see it happen.I think that DD and staff can recruit. If he pulls off a top 20 to 25 class then we should give the man time to continue to build his program. You cannot rebuild a train wreck over night.
Patience is a virtue.From BSIE80 “the guy has a 5 year contract. ” It’s a six year contract and no matter how good or bad it is he will serve all 6 years and then some. Remember we don’t care what happens to athletics at NC State….just ask out great AD.
