ParticipantI agree take this sh*t down. Some of you, and you know who you are, are acting like a f$cking child. Keatts will do just fine.

ParticipantLet me be the only one who likes the hire. I said it earlier I think Keatts will do just fine. Yeah throw all those nice and pretty defensive stats his teams had at UNCW. Don’t care.
Welcome Mr. Keatts.

ParticipantThe lack of effort on the part of DSJ is what would cause me to have MAJOR reservations about drafting him, especially with a top 5-10 pick. Those guys have to lead by example and I have not seen anybody with DSJ’s level of effort take the floor this year in the NBA, much less be a starter.
Couple of things.
#1 I haven’t seen any evidence of a “lack of effort” on the part of DSJ. The kid averaged 35 minutes a game and played full throttle every minute that I’ve been watching. If you want to project that the kid has some kind of an attitude problem and plays when he he feels like playing (ala Randy Moss) then that’s your opinion that you’re entitled to. I don’t see that at all.
#2 You must not watch much NBA. Have you seen the Knicks play defense this year? You watch any Nets games? You think the Kings are balling out, do you? Those guys are out there playing 82 games a season and traveling all across the country every other day, so it’s no surprise you’ll see NBA teams “taking a day off” when there’s in fact a game on the schedule. Some teams do it much more frequently than others.
#1 I have seen his attitude all year. At times he has played hard but in my opinion its been all about him all year. I cringed when he said in an interview in December after a loss saying in a loose quote “I take responsibility for our losses and our wins.” That’s fine if you think that but you can’t say that out loud. His demeanor on the court spoke volumes the whole ACC season.
#2 He will do just fine in the NBA. Will be a stud. Reminds me of a unpolished Russell Westbrook.

ParticipantFastBack, I will be in Charlotte for that game.
Did anyone mention or notice the pullovers the team was wearing on the bench. It read, “Secure Yours”. I’m sure it means something inspirational but talking about tone def to the season. Selfish bast*rds! SMH

ParticipantAnyone hear anything on Sean Miller? There is growing concern among the UofA faithful that he may be interested in NC State now that UofA’s AD moved on to Alabama. Just wondering what NC State fans are hearing.
Don’t forget guys the last time we went through a coaching search. The trolls came out in full force. DO NOT BELEIVE ANYTHING FROM THE NEWBIES ON THIS SITE!

ParticipantI keep seeing the comments regarding Keatts. And you know what? He’s done a fine job at UNCW.
But…
He’s only in his third year as a head coach. He has one appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and was ousted in the first round. Are we really ready to throw the keys to the castle at someone with that little experience?
If you want to be objective, Miller’s and Marshall’s resumes are FAR superior. Far superior. If we can’t get either one of those guys, then maybe we do go with a guy like Keatts. But the CAA aint the ACC. It’s a one bid league. And three years head coaching experience makea for a lot of learning on the job.
Honestly not trying to knock the guy. He’s done a fine job. But there is a flip side that must be taken into account.
Yes they lost in the first round to Duke 93-85. No shame in that loss. Also consider that Duke went to free throw line a crazy amount in the second half to come back in that game. Duke played from behind the entire time until the last few minutes.

ParticipantI like Keatts a lot. I hope we give him serious thought if things don’t go as planned, or if they do and we have him as the first choice. I think he is going to be a heck of a coach wherever he goes.

ParticipantWhat’s with the whiny complaining about Roo? He’s always posted that way while at the same time still contributing.. who cares? Get to your safe space or keep on scrolling.
Just mansplaining. It’s alright.
Mansplaining, huh? How metrosexual of you. Well it comes off as whiney offended little bitch’splainin
I knew that would bother you. Lol. Listen man I got no problem with Roo. I don’t know why you need to take up for him. He’s a big boy.
That said it does get old with all the political comments in a thread that’s supposed to be about outlets coaching search. I can understand why it bothers some. I don’t come to this thread to her people’s political dribble. I can turn the channel I get that, but when this thread is supposed to be something entirely different then it drives traffic away all together.

ParticipantI am old and I dont understand
‘If NCSU does hire Libetards Stevie Kerr or Greggy Poppovich, then there WILL, I suspect, be a small (Numbers…but MEGA in terms of $$’s Donated to the WPC and NCSU Athletics) uprising. ‘
Stephen Douglas “Steve” Kerr is an American former professional basketball player and the current head coach of the Golden State Warriors. no chance in #&!! of hiring him
Gregg Charles Popovich is an American basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association. no chance in #&!! of hiring him
I dont understand the references to hiring these guys
It’s Roo’s way of trying to make a thread political.

ParticipantI’ve heard Brad Stevens to Duke but I don’t know if that happens or not. Boston Celtics is a pretty high profile job and coach K wants to leave his legacy there. That’s Collins or some other Duke player. Unc won’t hire a coach without big 5 success unless they hire their own. I could see Arch coaching Indiana but unc and Duke aren’t coming calling Archie at this point. He goes to Indiana and has huge success then maybe, but he doesn’t satisfy either program’s fan base or AD at this point or in the near future.
If Arch had huge success at Indiana (NC or two, that’s how I define huge success) he won’t leave for any job.

ParticipantI think I am in the minority. I’m a fan of Yow as well. She has done as well as could be expected. For all the reasons Grey said.
Gowolves
ParticipantSo Chop are you saying he could be leaving our program in worse shape than just the roster?
There’s some negative chatter out in the websphere in that regard.
We will probably know in a few weeks if it is anything to be concerned about. Instinctively, I hear this stuff and I get concerned. Again, at this point, I am glad we have a stickler for the rules (by everything I can tell) in Deb Yow…I think she will / has done the needful if there’s needful to be done.
The rumblings aren’t encouraging – but hopefully it’s just dreamcasting by those who would wish ill will upon us and general hysteria.
Chops. Check all timelines, and quit the fretting.
They would have already been here, and gone. You would have known months ago.
Is the program being investigated by the NCAA?
Sage advice Cowdog – saw timelines and charges and had done those deductions….But I would be more worried if we actually had something to lose this year.
I started with the question if we were being investigated based on the comments above on the other thread. Reasonable question given the vague references in the comments.

I wasn’t referring to you. I am referring to the comments about his personal life.

ParticipantOk let’s have some civility. Damn. I have heard those rumors. It was rumored to be Corch’s wife. My sources have said there is no truth to do this so let this die now
Gowolves
ParticipantI learned quite a number of years ago that damn near anything, especially anything that falls into the categories that defy intelligence and any awareness of effective leadership & decision-making, is possible at NC State. And that is not hyperbolic language I use.
You mean we are the George Constanza of college sports? Sheesh!
Gowolves
ParticipantI have heard this same rumor. I don’t want to believe Gott would do that. My uncle mentioned it to me and he lives up near Spruce Pone. He heard it around mid December.
Gowolves
ParticipantGott has to go. That’s it. Nothing else matters. Don’t care if we have kids transfer.
Gowolves
ParticipantI really wanted this to be the season where the program takes off. All the talent is there. The depth is there. This is ALL on the head coach. He has to be fired. I will e-mail Ms. Yow with that request.
Gowolves
ParticipantDamn you for being right!!!

ParticipantKILL KILL KILL
(sorry…just getting warmed up)There is the Wufpacker we all know!

ParticipantI think and hope that needed defeat was the Miami game. The way they responded against Virginia Tech might be that moment. The ACC is too good to have another painful learning lesson. A close loss would (obviously playing well) give me more hope than a complete ass kicking. Especially with the talent the Pack has now.
