Defense has to get some pressure today. Don’t think they can with just four rushing. Need to be creative and bring some well timed stunts and safety blitzes. And obviously tackle the best they have all year.
CP1, I am worried too. Those jet sweeps are prime for some holding calls whether they are holding or not. Our receivers have to make sure they keep the hands inside to make sure there is no doubt.
CP1, Some of the holding calls late in the third quarter were phantom calls. Two playes before Dayes went to the house were very suspect. One ref called it from the back sideline when the play was twenty yards away. Bad call. His hands were on the inside and the guy went down because his footing slipped. Nice to see that it didn’t change the aggressiveness and we could still feel confident in running the ball right off right tackle.
Side note the N&O online PDF version does not even have a single article on the Pack game. I should know better since I have seen the dribble and poor writing(agendas) for 40 plus years but d*mn! I don’t know why I still go to read it. I guess it’s like watching a train wreck you can’t avert your eyes.

I am of the belief it doesn’t matter what side of the political isle you are on you don’t hit a woman. Now I did have a teacher in forth grade that said to the girls don’t hit a boy cause he will hit you back and you are responsible for your actions and the reaction to some extent. So you can decide for yourself how that pertains to you.
This may be off topic but I do beleive there is a issue out there that young men/boys are struggling to adapt to a new womens movement. That does not apply here directly but I do feel that this is going on. Aggressiveness, competition or whatever you want to call it to the man’s traditional roll. That may be an archaic idea but everyone has a roll to play in relationships, society, etc. Do we really need to be re-educted(word??) that men should not hit women. Its obvious to me but it still occurs whether we like it or not. I guess these are random thoughts but I do feel they play a roll.

First the team cut him like any player who they deem is not good enough anymore. Secondly since he didn’t start the season on the active roster the Ravens are not on the hook for his salary. After he was cut the NFL suspended him based on “new information”. That would have been appealed by the NFLPA and they would have won. There is no new information. That point becomes moot though since the Ravens cut him.
These are some of the items I read today.
1. First I read that he told the Ravens all the gory details when it happened. I hadn’t heard he lied to them. C. Mortenson on ESPN said that a person within the NFL (source)said the tape showed Rice’s girlfriend hit her head on the railing. This was in late june or july. So if the NFL has not seen the video until today then how did they know that information.2. Second I think the NFL cannot go back and suspend him more games based on the same incident. The information hasn’t changed. I think this is in the CBA. The only option they had was to cut him since there are no guaranteed contracts in the NFL.
3. If it is determined that Goodell has seen this video moths ago his time as the Commish is over.
