I think part of the issue is the change of the game in general. This is a college basketball issue. Look at the scores from last night’s games. First the ACC match ups and then only the top twenty-five match ups. Notice how many games are in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. Only a few were able break 70. The game has turned to a hot mess of hacking, grabbing, and poor free throw shooting. It makes the “parity” people exited. Look at UVA’s roster only one 4 star on the team. Now I think Bennett is a excellent coach but are you telling me he has coached up ALL of his three stars to look like a team like this and the last two years? Not every player pans out due a number a reasons. I guess he has a good eye for talent.

I think they should lower the shot clock. Not trying to hijack this thread but I do agree with the general consensus that the Pack will have to develop a consistent defensive pressure to win games and make the tourney. When they went to the zone in the first half it was a great call. Second half the man to man D picked up and it was good. I don’t think they went to the zone in the second half while the game was still in doubt. Don’t understand that. I could be wrong though.

Rick I know that but damn if I going to just accept it. They talk about trying to clean up the hand checking and grabbing but they do nothing. There is absolutely no way you strip that ball without raking over the arms.

Not busting on you SF. Like all of your work but I could give a rat’s a*s where DG has the Pack ranked in the ACC. Just don’t care for any of his opinions.

Wufpacker, Ravens don’t win that game if Bell plays. Ravens best play is chuck it deep and pray for an interference call.

What I have hard time understanding is that no one on this team has any post moves. Two foot air balls, jump hooks that hit underneath the front of the rim. That has to improve.

At the game. First three minutes was crap. Abu looked lost then the light came on for all of them. Good game by all.

While it is always tough to predict what will happen next year based on this past years results there is really nothing else to help to predict what will happen. Players will transfer, injuries will happen (for State and opponents). Just a lot of unknowns. What we do know is that State beat the teams they were supposed to this year. That tells me that DD has the minds and the hearts of the players. Also this being a young team DD could have lost them after the beatings they took against the better teams in the conference. Especially the Clemson and the Ga Tech game. He didn’t. Someone posted on this website that the Pack was the only team that played every team the ACC had in the top twenty five at year end. There were some other telling stats that only the this team had to endure. I do have high hopes for these players and the coaching staff.

Yes I have been a pack fan for forty years and I am aware of NCSh*t and our history as being average at best in football. I just choose to believe this could be the beginning of some good football years.

Always love it when someone says if we hadn’t had those turnovers we would have won the game. Really???

Don’t you realize that is part of football! Protect the pigskin.

    Mc,

State may not be the hotbed of coaches but coaches don’t jump ship like they used to. I think coaches stay longer in general if they are having success. Look no farther than Boise st. They held on their coach for a while. Once they started to struggle in recruiting he looked to Washington. Miss St and Ole Miss are in arguably the best conference and have been the punching bags of the SEC for a long time. Their coaches could have jumped at offers after year end but they didn’t. I am not comparing the ACC to the SEC but if DD gets the ball rolling and has a little luck then who knows. Clemson lost Morris in to SMU. Jamies leaves FSU this year. State is one of youngest teams in the nation. If Duke can catch lightening in the bottle three straight years there is no reason why State can’t. Not saying they will but is not as far fetched as one would believe.

I was at the TN game and I thought they handled the press just fine. Now it wasn’t as good as WVU’s press but they got the ball to the center and didn’t dribble as much.

The game against WVU was obviously played in a special place with the big lights on. Put those in the mix with the press and it was a perfect plan to screw up. I don’t count count this team out just yet.

Rick I mean this in all seriousness. What do you think they do during practice? If they don’t practice freethrows, defense, full press execution, inbound passes, etc, do they just sit around and sing hymns? I bet hipster has a great voice.

Game next week is in Charlotte not Atlanta, I think.

First thing they need to change is to get rid of the weekly CFP rankings. Useless as tits on a hog.
