GowolvesParticipant
I don’t care anymore about what the media says or doesn’t say about our team. What page its on is no longer a concern. The last 5 years at the dump has me thinking there is now a balance. Yeah the Pack will still be screwed when certain calls don’t go our way. I also believe that the light blue will get most of the calls…for a while. Beleive your in your tag line. The sun is rising in west Raleigh.
Don’t be part of the morally outrage. Don’t be those people who need to see a video of the assault to be convinced Once more I will repeat what others have stated. It was the consistant inability to put the team above himself. I wish nothing but the best for him.
The day it happened I had a conversation with my brother about what would transpire if he was dismissed. He has been in college sports for 25 years. He surmised that he would drop out and focus on the the NFL. Get an agent. Get some upfront money and move to LA or FL. I said nah I think they will offer to take care of him. Keep his scholarship and workout through the spring and the draft. His comment was, “well sure he will get the offer but he will not take advantage of it”. Well I disagreed, and so far Shad has made at least one good decision. Now I am not stupid enough to know that he has alternative reasons to keep his nose clean.
Greywolf, move on. Let’s not be that team that says that website, blog (newspaper) has it out for us. That’s a long time of bitter.
It’s a new era. That excuse is no longer needed. Soon this athletic program will be the hunted. People can laugh that off if they want but I see the signs. It’s dynamic. A lot of moving parts. Within the program and across the power 5.
GowolvesParticipantI commented after the last incident he needed to go. Now I question DD if he is still on this team. This is a pattern of stupid decisions. The kid is selfish. He NEEDS to go. Run from the scene, really?
GowolvesParticipantThat’s 8 touchdowns. One more and we tie the second best all time record:
9 vs. Navy 2002
9 vs. W. Carolina 1990
9 vs. Duke 1992
9 vs. Murray St. 2009Doubt we’ll match the most ever record though:
15 vs. Hampton 1919
There is the nine.
GowolvesParticipantNice kick!
GowolvesParticipantI swear this entire offense is something I have never seen in the last 15 years. Yes I agree with Beej. Hell 15 is probably too conservative. If they can stay humble and healthy. Man that two 1,000 rushers may have been crazy but you can’t argue this offense is so versatile and that’s an understatement.
GowolvesParticipantNice call for Grinnage. That’s a good call. Seeing more and more.
GowolvesParticipantThese grill mats… Need to buy one for your UNC coworker.
GowolvesParticipantYou guys are on fire!
GowolvesParticipantI recorded it, but not had a chance to watch it yet. So how was it?
GowolvesParticipant.. damn… twelve months a year ya’ll want to sh$t on Rick…
GOTT to give him a break…Everybody knows* that the only reason we GOTT this kid is that he does have a torn ACL and Rat and Uncle Roy ain’t wasting a scholly on that..
Come on BoB, you know that’s not true. The Pack have been on this kid a long time. You have to be kidding, right?
GowolvesParticipantLife is good on the knucklehead board. I mean that in the most affectionate way. Really.
Anyway I saw a lot of good and a smidgen more of SOME concern. Play is flowing well. The secondary played good enough. Not too happy but there were some well placed passes with defenders there. The defense in the first seemed jittery. I think the bar is high on this defense. This game doesn’t change that.
This team will surprise a lot of people.
GowolvesParticipantGood to see you again, Rick.
GowolvesParticipantGood to see you again, Rick.
GowolvesParticipantNow that’s the hype I needed! Not that the others weren’t good.
Go Pack!
09/03/2015 at 10:48 PM in reply to: TBT: UNC honor court handling football\'s academic misconduct cases #88218GowolvesParticipantI thought I would post this over in “A Couple of football notes”. Then I thought about this comment I read from the penis, you know you thought it, from N&O. Essentially he said under the most perfect circumstance that Williams is a Heisman candidate. Shiii*********t. That dog won’t hunt.
I knew then this wasn’t football thinking this was someone who has a reality issues. That’s like saying a bullfrog wouldn’t bump his ass if he had wings.
Let me hear, em!
That’s like saying……
09/02/2015 at 8:21 AM in reply to: CFB 2015 Starts THIS Week: What do you expect from the Pack? #88171GowolvesParticipantI’ll go with 8-4 with losses to FSU, Clemson, Lville and Va Tech.
I agree, though the odds of beating L’ville and VT are not terrible.
I think the best odds of the four is Clemson. They lost a lot defense. The game is at home on a holiday weekend. Maybe a afternoon or a night game depending on records. Va Tech is on the road at night… tough sledding. Louisville lost a few players but from what I read they have a lot of transfer players coming in that are really talented. Plus Petrino is a much better coach than Dabo.
GowolvesParticipantWell, there goes that small chance right out the window,
Thornton suspended first two games for violation of team rules. Personally I would have given him the boot. Disappointed that DD did not do that. This kid has had too many chances. Don’t care how small it could have been. This is the third time if I am not mistaken. Doesn’t get it and never will. I think I will be in the minority with that opinion.
08/25/2015 at 8:13 PM in reply to: Suffering From Football Related Brain Injuries, Former NC State QB Erik Kramer Hospitalized After Failed Suicide Attempt #88085GowolvesParticipantI was on that bank with my brother right up against the fence. Saw the whole play unfold. Awesome comes to mind.
GowolvesParticipantOK, so let me get this straight. If you wouldn’t sign Rivers, Big Ben or Eli for that amount of money please tell me who you would pay that money to? I mean players like Rodgers, Peyton, and Tom don’t fall off the tree every day. Ok lets pay Drew Brees that money, oh yeah he will be 37 at year end. How about Tony Romo? I hear he as an excellent post season record. Matt Ryan? Andrew Luck-16 interceptions and 12 fumbles in 2014.
This whole argument seems silly to me. I wouldn’t pay him or him because that team doesnt spend the right amount of money against the CAP. Well the new CBA will not allow teams to “hold” cash like they used to. They have to spend it now. I am sure the owners put some loopholes in there to protect themselves.
I won’t pay Eli or Big Ben because they have a defense, they have a great running game, etc. They threw to many picks last year under a new offensive coordinator. I am GLAD none you are the GM of my team. Before you make some comment please think of the alternative. EVERY last one of you would have paid him, Big Ben or Eli. Either you are lying or you want your team to trade for RGIII. Jeez!
GowolvesParticipantI am happy for this dude. This guy has some fire in his belly. This is a question for others who follow him more closely. It’s been said he has a long swing. I understand how that can be a detriment. What can you do to correct that and still keep your hand eye coordination? Hitting against a fence? Learn to be a slap hitter and then re-grow your swing? I know he has been working on that.
Williams is struggling right now as the skipper. Some would think this call up is a desperate move. Those same people realize how bad the middle infield is struggling. Those who follow the Pack and ML prospects know this kid can play. Sure hope he doesn’t get in his head that he has to save this team. Just play.
Never thought I would say this but as a Braves fan I hope the Mets take the division and leave Washington hoping for a wildcard spot. Which is unlikely in my opinion.
GowolvesParticipantI think we are seeing something bigger. What I mean by that is Doreen. I think he is going to be a special coach. I hope we have the Benjamin’s to keep him. They can run the ball and I believe their run defense can be good to very good. That’s a recipe for success. Jacoby needs to let the game come to him. He knows what that feels like. That’s important. He had that trait the last 5/6 games of the season.
GowolvesParticipantSecond that.
GowolvesParticipantIt’s awful quite around here. Do we need more cowbell? Are we all just being a bit shy? Do we want to talk a little sh*t out our ass?
Let’s be reasonable…hmmm I say we have two backs rush for a thousand. Does that sound crazy? I just don’t know. I bet if you think hard enough you could convince yourself that it’s not out of this realm. I know we have a very good QB but it’s possible.
Before anyone says we have too many in the backfield and the carries will be spilt. I gotcha but I would argue that they can find two great ball carriers that have better skills as compliments than by themselves. Not saying the the back behind Thornton won’t become the man latter n his college career. Assumptions taken. Find that back that compliments Thornton. That’s the key. Not to mention health. See what I did there?
GowolvesParticipantJust buying time to get through basketball season. Oh, it was a banner f*cking year at the old UNC family!
GowolvesParticipantI am really excited about our secondary. Seems like we have a group that has a lot of experince and size. I just belive the defense is going to surprise some people. Maybe not some Pack fans. The defense is young in spots but have seen a lot of reps early on.
