Paki, that was great.
CD, Do you drink every day or just every other day??
GowolvesParticipantFew reasons on what possibly made him take the job.
Power Five conference.
East Coast (no west coast bias to deal with)
Warmer and much less snow
From the south.
Better recruiting01/05/2016 at 12:18 PM in reply to: David Amerson, a disappointment for Redskins, is shining for Raiders #96006GowolvesParticipantAmerson with a pick six this weekend. Maybe he has turned it around. Having Woodson mentoring him even for part of a season can have significant impact. Lets hope he continues to put the work in.
GowolvesParticipantI’m just glad Jacoby is gone. He has to have the weakest arm I have EVER seen out of a dude who is 6’5″
GowolvesParticipantNorth Dakota State? WTF!
GowolvesParticipantMan, Duke’s helmets are UGLY!
GowolvesParticipantIs that a tear I see Troll? Don’t get all sappy on us. JK. Merry Christmas to you guys as well. Everyone travel safely.
GowolvesParticipantGood win Pack.
GowolvesParticipantGott has to go.
Please don’t start that kinda stuff.
If you say so.
GowolvesParticipant^+1 AT. Just keeping tabs going forward.
GowolvesParticipantYou know full well what I mean. Don’t be thick. I mean all this Gott has already peaked, We have to start looking for new coach, You think Miller will come?, etc.
GowolvesParticipantDid you mean Lacy? Turner was in his final year.
GowolvesParticipantWe are not going to change your mind if you that’s your opinion. I don’t care how many f”cking data points you have. I am going by what he has done since he has been at NCSU. Now that doesn’t carry much either because we all know past performance doesn’t guarantee future performance. Good or bad. Yeah you can infer and project but that means you have to make some assumptions.
I prefer to see the season play out and good or bad make my assertions. Not in December.
GowolvesParticipantNobody here can say he has peaked. He is an average to good coach. You can’t ignore the question of who do you hire if you are willing to get rid of what you have. Yeah this year looks like it could be a down year but every year that is said. This year you may be right
Here is what I know. Talent wins games. Most college kids don’t want to play defense. All believe they will be playing in the league one day. I know what we have in Gottfried. Warts and all. He recruits well and his teams don’t play defense on a consistent basis. Do I think he can catch lightning in a bottle just as easy as the next average to good coach they decide to hire? Yes I do.
GowolvesParticipant“We are scared of NC State’s defense” …said no one. #GottD?
Look if you’re happy with the results over the last 4 years and don’t expect anything more then you’re more than happy with keeping Gottfried around forever, hoping he’ll trip over himself to a better result.
I think this can be said about every coach/team in the country accept a handful. Do you know who will be the next great coach? Please let me know. Lavin, Pearl, Ollie, Miller,Wright? I mean almost every coach has some down years.
Bo Ryan records in past years
20-13 (2009)
23-12 (2013)
It takes time. Sometimes your hire is lucky and that good and he stays there for years and creates a “program” then at that point it just becomes a matter of not screwing it up. I know this may be a shock to some of you but the Pack is no longer a program. It was too long between getting screwed and the first hire of decent a coach. So if you want to create an atmosphere that we are a destination job and fire someone every three to six years good luck with that. I would rather let Gott stay here and develop something over the long haul.Yes I do expect more! I am crazy enough to think hiring and firing every few years is the right answer, then no I don’t buy that crap.
GowolvesParticipantOn a quick side note. TJW poured in 28 points coming off the bench last night against the last undefeated team in the NBA. Still played 35 minutes.
Re the game: If the Pack can stop the big plays today and win the line of scrimmage it shouldn’t even be close. Pack win 28-14!
11/05/2015 at 4:08 PM in reply to: Huzzah – Dave Doeren Answers BJD’s Last Remaining Questions Last Saturday #91518GowolvesParticipantSo where is the development?
?
Aside from Jacoby who may have regressed (I stl think he’s injured) and some on the D, I see it everywhere.
No development in the secondary, linebackers, and wide receivers. JMHO.
11/04/2015 at 1:09 PM in reply to: Huzzah – Dave Doeren Answers BJD’s Last Remaining Questions Last Saturday #91453GowolvesParticipantWhile I generally agree with most of the post I do have some concerns. Like one or two others have posted I have a concern about growth and development of some of the players and units as a whole. Yeah the team is young but I kept hearing all off season they are young but they have a lot of snaps in them. So where is the development? I do think this team will get better as the season progress’. I fully support DD and expect him to get the most out of his players. Not sure I can say that about some position coaches. Go Pack!!
Though it will be difficult to run against that BC line I hope they can somehow pull it off. They have embarrassed the Pack’s lack of run defense a few times in the last few years. Nothing is more demoralizing (ball snipping) than getting the ball run down your throat over and over even when you know it’s coming.

Swoffy is screwing the league again. This guy needs to resign now. This is not good. I hate to say it but Maryland might have been right getting out when they did.
GowolvesParticipantLike I said to a coworker, I wondered if we could move the ball in the air if they couldn’t run it. I mean short passes. A ball control offense through the air. That’s not possible with this offense. The Spread doesn’t translate to the west coast offense if the first one is bogged down.
Everyone worries about the long ball and lengthening the field. F’uck that. Move the chains. Eat the clock. Hard to do with this offense.
GowolvesParticipantThe Pack took one on the chin last night @ Duke. 6-2. Not a very inspired effort. The ACC is strong in soccer.
On a side note it was great to see the 1990 Men’s soccer team recognized last weekend. I played with or against most of those guys over the last thirty five years. That team had a ton of talent.
GowolvesParticipantRed Devils!!
GowolvesParticipantYeah this team is a joke. Can’t believe this was what the hype was all about. Truly disappointed. Not going to invest anymore time in his team. Paper tiger. I really thought they had more to offer than this. They are the weakest team between the ears I have ever seen. Don’t have any drive and read too much press. What a f?ucking waste!
GowolvesParticipantYes I am being a bit of a homer but my Steelers could be undefeated if they had a kicker. If they can tread water while Ben gets healthy they can make a late season run. Everyone seems to be counting them out.
GowolvesParticipantThere are turnovers and then there is change of possessions. Yeah those turnovers hurt but you got to get off the field. They had two drives over 90 yards that resulted in TD’s. One of those turnovers resulted in one of those drives. Would you feel different had the Pack gone for it inside the 5 and it resulted in a turnover on downs? Not blasting the D because they played well enough to win. The offense just didn’t make plays. Pretty straight forward to me.
