So, how does one go forward from this point on as a college athletics fan? What’s the point? There is a really good chance I have watched my last ncaa event. I am proud to say that moment was long before the tarheel 2nd place championship finish
fullmoon1ParticipantI tried to stop watching early on. I kept finding myself drawn back to the tv like a gnat to a sweaty ear. In the last minute you would think hott would frantically be yelling instructions from the sidelines. Presumably instructing them to foul. Or something. In those waiting seconds as cat tried to foul to stop the clock, the camera one to gott and he was wrestling with a water bottle as he attempted to open it. He accepted the fate early on. I lay this loss at the feet of the coach. Putting Abu back in during the first half was questionable. Staying with man to man was worse at that point. I just popped in to throw another turd on the dumpster fire.
fullmoon1ParticipantI think the ncaa will punish Roy by disallowing retirement. Does anyone think they can successfully take down the ncaa? Seems a bit delusional on their part.

It definitely needed renovations and I think as a facility it deserves some tlc for its historical value. To those saying its old farts living in the past, please see dook and their antiquated minuscule, outdated arena.
fullmoon1ParticipantI remember it. I lived it. I tolerated taunts from teachers, friends and even my pastor. After being baptized circa 1990, the pastor remarked “how bout em heels”. The 90’s were dark. We shall never return to that era.
fullmoon1ParticipantI think the broad nature of the letter does not bode well for the heels. Those saying that basketball and football aren’t mentioned are sadly mistaken. Therein lies a whole lotta legal speak and allegation talk to go around the entire athletics department.
fullmoon1ParticipantGreat nickname and great hair.
fullmoon1ParticipantLet me clarify so I don’t sound like a jerk. What I mean is,we have seen too many players not make it in the nba. Let’s hope we don’t have players to declare and then end up having to settle and not make it in the nba.
fullmoon1ParticipantWe may have some players declare for the draft next year but don’t confuse that with going pro. Two different things.
fullmoon1ParticipantOmg. It’s true. We are the mopeds of the fan world. Fun to ride but…
fullmoon1ParticipantI’m shooting from the hip. Let’s be honest. Lacey had a great season. I understand what people mean when they say, “if he stays another year his draft stock may drop”. Despite the good season there is nothing about Lacey at this point in his career that screams nba. If your draft stock drops after another year of development either their system of evaluating is wrong or you were never that good to begin with. I find it sad that somehow this kid has been made to think he’s the next nba star. He will possibly languish in obscurity. The nba dangling unattainable carrots in front of these kids faces has driven the sport into the ground. It’s a shame gott either agrees or enables these actions.
fullmoon1ParticipantI haven’t got mine tilled yet but I plan on cukes, tomatoes, green peppers and maybe some beans. Anyone do any canning?
fullmoon1ParticipantBeautiful prose and thought and prayers with wufpacker
fullmoon1ParticipantHe brings some good points however his demenor detracts from what he is trying to say. I usually see a few women’s games a year and overall I would say they are more fundamentally sound. It may not be as exciting but it’s easier to watch.
fullmoon1ParticipantThey gotta guard us to pal- Ike Turner
fullmoon1ParticipantThe sad thing is, the allegations are from a year and a half ago. It seems like it wasn’t an issue for duke until it was going to become public.
fullmoon1ParticipantThe starting 5 should have watched the game from the bench. They brought no fire, hustle, intensity at all. Even if the shots aren’t falling there is no excuse for that wet defensive turd that state leaked out all over the floor in Boston.
02/24/2015 at 11:13 PM in reply to: State wins in Chapel Hill! Has Dean Smith’s pact with the devil expired? #75789fullmoon1ParticipantAfter enduring a lifetime of jeers, taunts and insults from the arrogant heels they deserve every bit of criticism and shaming they get. It’s not too soon.
fullmoon1ParticipantWow. I hate the stigma that Christians cant have fun. Christians aren’t perfect just forgiven. I hope those folks don’t get hold of my movie list.
fullmoon1ParticipantEvidently basketball arenas that seat less than 200 don’t offer much in the way of security.
fullmoon1ParticipantThat fan is dang lucky that cat showed some reservation, it looked like the fan uttered a quick apology after cat have him the look. It’s obvious cat would have dismantled this guy in about 3 seconds. The refs should have been all over that, at least given Miami a warning as they do when fans throw things. It seems the university of myhami handled pretty well although after the fact. An apology was issued by the ad and the coach spoke with gott about it in the hallway.
fullmoon1ParticipantAfter thinking about it, the substitutions were part of the dance that has to be done regarding foul trouble. I’m not going to tout a moral victory here but that was a damn close game, gone are the days when we folded bad everytime. We are in there and in a position to win. We aren’t pushovers any more. We better get them in chapel hill. As frustrating as it was to lose, it was a very exciting game and I enjoyed it. It was my son and nephew’s first state/ unc game and it was like a rite of passage. They now know the joy and pain of what it really means to be a wolfpacker. Their soul has been tattooed.
fullmoon1ParticipantI attended the game tonight and a few glaring things stood out. 1. Odd substitutions- not sure why Lacey came out under the 5 min mark for a few minutes. 2. Defense – confusion, lack of some concise identity or plan, spitballing(very bad to still be spitballing in the last minutes). 3. The amazing grit and hustle in the last 5 min or so. 4. Officiating. It was very bad. For what it’s worth while hanging around waiting for traffic to die down, 2 refs left with an entourage of unc clad family or friends. Just sayin.
fullmoon1ParticipantWhat bothered me was the defensive effort. There was pretty good attempt at defending on the first shot, usually at least a swat at the ball but none after that. Va got second and 3rd chances virtually uncontested. It happened on 3 consecutive possessions. A layup gets missed and no boxing out happens and a Va player swoops in and gets a garbage point. Too much dribbling and not enough passing and shooting. We played buttery soft inside.
