^ and since it’s well documented that Gott doesn’t teach anything as defense, we can’t be talking about him 🙂
FergusWolfParticipantIn all fairness, Rowan did have one rebound and one steal to go with his one turnover and 3 points (no fouls).
No a good day for Mav, but he is a young freshmen, I think he’s going to be a treat to watch in upcoming years.
FergusWolfParticipantFergusWolfParticipantFergusWolfParticipantI agree that they won’t trade him, but that doesn’t mean they won’t pick up a promising looking 2nd or 3rd round QB. Remember ( and I know things have changed a lot since then), Rivers sat on the bench for a season at the beginning of his career, behind Drew Breeze, it probably did him a lot of good to get used to pro football, the chargers, the system, etc…
Philip may have a 4 year extension, but he hasn’t been without his injuries the past few years. Why not start grooming the next franchise quarterback. It worked with Aaron Rogers…
FergusWolfParticipant^ Let’s just hope that our biggest problem next year is that our offense is too good. #FirstWorldProblems
FergusWolfParticipantI think if I were Terry, I’d have to seriously consider applying for the 6th year medical exemption redshirt and just toss the season down the drain. He’s not a sure fire NBA draft pick, so, unless he’s got the same agent as Trevor Lacy, he really should play another year before going pro.
FergusWolfParticipantMerry Christmas! Go Pack!
FergusWolfParticipantWhat’s scary to me is the rugby scrum after Cat hit the winning 3. The team was celebrating like they just won against UNC or Duke
FergusWolfParticipantI can’t disagree with that. Mav’s defense is improving every game, but, he’s still a freshman.
FergusWolfParticipantGlad someone finally acknowledged this game exists. Seems like everyone is too busy criticizing everyone else for their football predictions and their lack of accuracy.
Looking forward to another potential resume builder here.
FergusWolfParticipantMark this post, as it is the gospel…
If the holes beat the Tigers, they WILL be in the CFP, this will be the NCAA rewarding them to make up for the penalties they will be forced to endure once the heels win the ncaa tournament.
FergusWolfParticipantI disagree. Most people see this has been Chizik’s influence.
The problem, Wufpack, is that too many administrations are looking for the hot name to be a quick fix. Coach Hat just needs to make sure he has a good DC (since he obviously knows nothing about defense).
FergusWolfParticipantDon’t be confused, Coach Hat is going to get job offers, particulary if they manage to knock of Clemson in the ACC title game (god forbid what they will do if they actually win a championship, considering there non-existent coastal division championship rings a few years ago).
However, with the exception of USC (who is making all kinds of bad decisions since Pete Carroll left, consider Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkesian), none of the big boys will offer the Hat the job.
He could get an offer from South Carolina…it might be hard to turn down an SEC head coaching job.
FergusWolfParticipantSo in less than a few short weeks we lose Matt Dayes for the season, lose to William & Mary, lose Terry Henderson for two months, and lose Bam to Kentucky. I know it can be challenging to be an NC State fan at the best of times, but damn, this is demoralizing.
Being a Wolfpack fan is advanced fandom, it’s easy to cheer for the front-runner, the multi-time (in the past 25 years) national champion, the teams that don’t seem to be stuck in the mud. But we can’t do that, we are Wolfpack fans…we may not want to do this, but we don’t have any choice. It’s in our blood.
So, like it or not, the majority of us are still going to be here next year, living and dying in the next top recruit.
Think of it from Bam’s perspective…Coach Cal and his arsenal and demonstrated promotion to the NBA vs. Coach Gott and his scraping into the tourney every year with the occasional NBA draft pick…I’m just glad that Dennis Smith actually signed his LOI before Bam’s announcement.
FergusWolfParticipantA couple of people have indicated that we could red-shirt Henderson and have him back next year.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but outside of the rare NCAA injury waiver, Henderson has already red-shirted because of transfer rules, so if he were to sit out the rest of the season, he would be a senior next year.
Then, after that, maybe, just maybe the NCAA gives him a 6th year. Seems unlikely the NCAA would do us any favors.
FergusWolfParticipantA couple of comments…
1. Man that dude is fast..he was 12 seconds from catch to TD
2. Did he almost drop the ball after the catch?
3. I wish our DBs were that fastFergusWolfParticipantApparently Syracuse was smart enough…it wasn’t that Clark decommitted from Syracuse, it’s that Syracuse refused his commitment.

FergusWolfParticipantRedReid…
Depends on your definition of dumb…most of the GOOD Power 5 conference teams take advantage of the extra game to schedule another home game, meaning that most of them play 8 home games.
Take a team with a big stadium (75,000 seats), at $50 per seat (probably low), is $3.75 mil/game, plus whatever you make on parking and concessions.
If their were an additional conference game, then you would only get that $3.75 mil every other year, so basically, you are giving almost $2 mil away.
For some reason, we saw this as a way to go visit the likes of ODU and some directional school I can’t remember. (I know, visiting ODU is going get allow us to recruit the next Tory Holt and Phillip Rivers), so I assume the master of our schedule believe their will be a high $ payoff.
FergusWolfParticipantI didn’t notice until watching the replay that Samuels is being face-masked while Matt runs around the corner. No flag, not that we would have accepted it anyway.
FergusWolfParticipantseems to me if we lose the football game vs. Louisville that enthusiasm for basketball might be increased.

From the streakers?
05/08/2015 at 11:05 AM in reply to: Carlos Rodon to Make First MLB Start on Saturday vs Cincy #86192FergusWolfParticipantI wonder why the fantasy advice is not to start him? In my many years of only half-a** paying attention to baseball, I’ve noted a trend that big league hitter tend to fair badly the first few times they see a good (<– note, I said good, not mediocre or bad) pitcher.
You can see many cases (Dice K, Strausberg, etc…) where a pitcher absolute destroys the competition until there is enough scouting and tape on them that the hitters can adjust.
Based just on that, I just bet the entire amount of my mortgage on Rodon getting the win tomorrow.

FergusWolfParticipantI contend that the $28 is pretty meaningless also, given that you have to divide it among 15 schools.
