I’ll take that sophomore class lump any day of the week. Hope Gott can lump 2015 as well.

I have also seen two quotes where State is switching to the 4-2-5 defense which is easier to remember than TAFKAWBS.

“I get concerned that the big picture is not recognized by a few.” It is unfortunate that Yow felt the need to make those comments at all. It just reaffirms the fact that the (few – care to guess 40%, 50%, 60%) fan base is impatient as hell. It also provides fodder for outside talking heads. How many threads were on SFN and PP at the end on of last season asking fans to be patient and give DD a chance. Seriously, one season marked by injuries, no qb, little talent etc.etc.. It took Cutcliffe 6 years (first five 20-40) to have a decent season and how many people think Duke will maintain that level of success. It would be interesting to see what Yow has to endure in terms of fan complaints over the course of any given year. She deserves it, right???? Fire Everybody!!

This is not an endorsement of the OOC schedule. It blows. This is about Yow having to airplane the liquified peas into the mouths of infantile adults.

Pack85. It was Oddball. The only way to keep those tigers busy is to run around and let them shoot holes in me. Hopefully, that won’t happen to our qb in Clempson this year.

UF had four CTC losses of 6 points or less. They also had four double digit losses but still managed to avoid the CTC 3-9 record. Would love to swap the Presbyterian game with an 8pm matchup with UF. It would allow the time needed to sober up, drive home and then rehydrate for the Steeler game.

I don’t care what K Street is wearing when he embeds his helmet into the sternum of the unx qb. Worst to first.

Ah yes, I remember David carr’s one year with the cats. Long Fabio hair and single throwing hand glove. Both of which quickly disappeared after Concklin bitched slapped him during his first day as a Giant. He ran for a first down and the meager panther crowd cheered. Then he got utterly destroyed by the opposing defense.

It may be a situation where we all wind up at the PNC arena after a year and somebody brings up the referee hot button or CF and how TOB pissed on RW. Good times.

395, but where is the “How many rounds have you stockpiled?”. That seems like a pertinent question. My kids shoot faster than they can talk. So I’ll have to acquire a sword. Is season 4 worth investing in? Daryl and that NBK kid Carl are the only decent characters IMO. Thanks for the boredom break.

Big Jones fan for all the reasons listed above. My favorite recent episode is when they opened that billion dollar best buy and promptly lost to the giants opening night. Did the Bronx renew John fox’s contract? I know they extended del rio’s. I don’t know many teams that let their top four wrs walk. Panthers psl is like state ltr.

Yes, the NCAAT champ should have a higher average because they won it all was my initial thought. However, besides the anal retentive accountant in me, I also take fairness to an unrealistic level which really pisses my wife off from time to time. I assume that the NCAAT tournament works hard to balance each bracket in terms of seeds 1-16 strength to weakness. I know you will probably trounce that assumption but again that is what I would do based on my sense of fairness. I completely understand that all —- breaks loose after the tournament is set. That bracket is absurdly easy, this one is murder’s row. The brackets are, however, mutually exclusive events. If a final four team has such a high RPI number on average, then why is there a 4.48 deviation between the two teams in the final. Again, I get the average champ should have a better RPI but 4.48 just seems high. One can get lost in the data maze and the NCAAT is far from precise. Would the math indicate that on average 3/4 of the brackets produce a winner with an average RPI of 11-12? It should. I think you are indicating that the FF losers (G1&G2) average 11.98 and the runner up 11.38. That narrow range makes more sense to me. Oh well, thanks again for the discussion and for the tables.

So Digger argued that Mid-Majors had reached parity with larger schools. Anyway, the anal retentive accountant in me wants to reconcile the NCAAT Champion RPI for 11-25 which should be 23.8% for a column total of 100%. I would have thought that the average RPI of the champ (6.9) would be closer to the average RPI of the runner-up (11.38) if I am reading the columns correctly. Two top 10 RPI teams on average from separate brackets fighting to be #1.(The average of the average RPI of the champ/runner up is 9.14) I would be curious to see separate columns of the RPI for the F4 G1 loser and the F4 G2 loser. I would be surprised if there was any material average RPI discrepancy between the F4 losers since the only differentiation is when they played their respective games. I realize those columns are unnecessary in the quest of the final conclusion. I guess my rather limited inner mathematician would like the NCAAT to be the exact teams listed 1-68 on the season end RPI list for a solid starting point for all topics but that would take all the fun out of the madness. (Each bracket would be balanced by RPI as close as possible in mathematical terms) Again, none of the additional info I would like to see or a pure 1-68 RPI NCAAT would alter the conclusion. I just like to look at a dead horse from multiple angles. Thanks for an interesting analysis, Va.

Great. Now I have to memorize what TAFKAWBS stands for as that reference will become more and more obscure over the next 50 years. Unless of course, we meet butler 2 or 3 years down the road and white chocolate torches us with 40 pts, 16 assists and double digit rebounds.

The FAR SIDE was popular during my days at State and it was interesting how a single frame would make some people LOL and others go “meh”. Thanks AugustaWolf for the Mary Kate and Ashley line. Btown, read SFN for a few years and racists won’t come to mind. Posters love these players. The outside world takes a small sampling of SFN and decides the State fan base is full of —holes and I’m glad they do. Nothing to see here, move along. I’ll take a small group of actual grads over an overladen bandwagon full of tools any day of the week.

As far as next year, TL is not the missing link that breaks the chain and dooms another season. Ten quality players within the rotation is something I can’t readily recall over the past forty years. I’m betting on Kill Bill Cat per BJD.

Why is there not a Charlotte Observer counting clock highlighting the number of days Wake Forest has been searching for a new basketball coach which always seems to exist when State has a coaching search? WTF Wake, it’s been 11 days now and why did you run off your successful coach when he was the best you are ever going to get.

IMO, Gott deserves 2-3 more years after remolding Sid’s players. I think Archie will still be available but I’m just an optimist. Over the last three years, Dayton has acquired 2NR players, 6-3 stars and 1-4 star. Can he recruit at a higher level at State. Where would Dayton have finished in the ACC regular season if they had been a member. Top 5 for an automatic bid? Does Dayton win with offense or defense or a solid combination of both. I only watched them play a couple of halfs. I wish I had the answers. I am a gambler too but the Lowe wager dented my enthusiasm. Sean and Archie in 2005 would have been nice.

My wife and I watched a muted CBS segment on UNC around 1:15 pm while at a sports bar. Interview segments with Charlie Scott, Phil ford, campus scenes and lots of footage of dean smith. Just curious why it was on. Anybody see it??

Perhaps McDonald’s should stick to what they do best, serving low quality dogwood to those individuals that can’t read the number next to the caloric category. A Blue Chip guard should be able to defend, create their own shot, consistently score when it counts, lead a team to victory no matter what and distribute the ball to the rest of the team. That well rounded blue chip guard has been missing from my pack happy meal for a long, long time. Tyler, I think you are a high character kid and I hope you find the right team. Really looking forward to next season. Should be interesting. Eat fresh, Anya.
