Up 4 with 14.7 to go. Can we really screw this up?
etab4uParticipantGive Grayson an academy award. Yes he was tackled. But…
etab4uParticipantAh, free throws.
etab4uParticipantThe fact that we are in this game is a testament to the impact a coach has on their team. In this case, the impact of K being out. I’d love to win this one but have seen enough NCState sh*t to not get my hopes up too much – even though we are playing out of our minds right now!
etab4uParticipantWoohoo! We’re not last!
etab4uParticipantOn the inbound? Really?
etab4uParticipantWow. I just got to my hotel and called up the second half on the ESPN App. I’m glad the screen on my phone is so small…
etab4uParticipantYou could be thinking of JJ Hickson. I try not to recall those dark days of Wolfpack basketball. Which could describe many of the last 30 years…
On another post someone commented that Lutz left and took the defense with him. I initially thought that if that’s true, he must be awfully lonely. But now after watching the last few games, I think he might have. Or we’re both right…etab4uParticipantWell, that wasn’t good.
etab4uParticipantI’m undecided about watching. Like a moth drawn to the flame, I probably will – and hope not to get burned.
etab4uParticipantGott to go!
Maybe Sunday we can score 100 at home again. And hope GT doesn’t score 110.etab4uParticipantGott to go! Trailing BC at the half. Really?
etab4uParticipantGott to go!
No video feed so it sounds like it’s TuneInetab4uParticipantYes, I watched the game. Being a realist, I expected us to lose by 20 but not be blown out by over 50.
We played sloppily out of the gate and were out hustled early. The kids were demoralized and reverted to tossing up threes and playing street ball. Lack of discipline. Also poor in game management to let them go on s 20-2 or so run early without stopping play to try and correct the situation. But that’s just the start.
No defense, poor defensive rebounding, couldn’t get a foul call on put backs (tendencies you know…) – but didn’t kick it back out until in the second hslf, etc. Poor team play ang just bad basketball
If our “top 40” coach can get these guys to play as s cohesive team by the ACCT, he’s a miracle worker. If not, I’ve seen enough and it’s time to move on. Gott to go.etab4uParticipantNot that the redshirt matters in the era of one and done.
etab4uParticipantCan we redshirt Henderson? This season is over.
etab4uParticipantI was talking to Former Clemson professor & fan over the weekend. I congratulated him on their FB season. In the conversation it came up that it’s easy to be a fan of a winning program – but it takes real loyalty to be a Wolfpack fan. If it weren’t true I’d have been insulted…
etab4uParticipantIt appears we are back to our old ways after a WTF win.
etab4uParticipantUgh
etab4uParticipantI agree with Plywood, a tale of two halves – as much for Duke as for us. I am encouraged by our effort and at times improved ball movement. Our bigs were unselfish in the first half but we fell into old habits and shots didn’t fall in the second. Credit K for switching up defenses and throwing us off our game. Their fast start coming out of halftime shook our confidence. We never recovered.
Wednesday’s game will help tell us how dire things are. A win vs GA Tech doesn’t mean anything but a loss…etab4uParticipantWake is an improving team under Manning and they have always been hard to beat at home. Having said that, we are not good. No ball movement and don’t shoot well (understatement of the year). Defense requires 5 players all performing and working together. We are not there either. We do not play with confidence.
Some of this is talent, a lot would seem to be coaching. With the exception of Cat’s steady improvement over the years I don’t see these players or this team picking up the next season where we left off the previous one. That’s disappointing.etab4uParticipantGott’s teams have shown improvement through the year; something we haven’t had in the last couple of coaches. It will be telling to see if he can put any polish on this group by the time March rolls around.
etab4uParticipantIt was predictable. I’m glad I didn’t bother to watch, much less attend this year. I don’t need the frustration or depression.
Our long term trend is to perform in the middle third of the conference and occasionally worse. I was a sophomore the last time we won the ACC in football – and I’m growing old. Not to mention that was when the ACC had half as many teams.
If we want to do better we need to look to how other schools that have gone from mediocre or suck to the top tier have done it. Baylor, Oklahoma State, etc. come to mind recently. Years ago it was Bowden and Beamer that turned around losing programs. Maybe Doren is the answer but I’d be interested in seeing some comparisons between those programs and what we’re doing or not doing. Is it all coaching and recruiting? Money? Administration support?
Unfortunately, from what I’ve seen so far, my expectation is that we will continue to revert to the mean. We hit that perfectly this year, again.etab4uParticipantMeanwhile at PNC arena: our BB team is showing flashes of ineptitude between long stretches of incompetence.
etab4uParticipantEither one of both may end up at UGA.
