The Tuffy helmet is Awesome in my book (yes I also really like the “S” as well). You can’t make everybody happy but at least we are trying change that relates to the history of the school.

    I like it…

The good thing: we all understand DD is taking good steps forward with the program so we don’t have an immediate “fire him” thread.

The Bad thing: we gotting the living $&@$ beat out of us yesterday. Total embarrassment on ALL fronts. Talk about laying an egg! Yes, Clemson is a much better team but NOT 41 – 0 by the early 3rd quarter good…heck they could have easily dropped 80 points on us. Clemson prepared and we simply did not. This part of Wolfpack football is what we are cursed with.

OMG did we take a beat down.

Plain and simple our Canada Offense is pretty darn good. Wildcat or not our offense is not “boring” for sure. Nothing against Dana Bible/TOB but our offense is Much more confusing for opposing teams at the moment. I love the speed and some of the crazy plays even if they don’t always work. Sometimes it seems they stole the notebook of plays from the Waterboy movie. Bottom line is I like where the Offense is and the “fresh” wide open style. Brissett is perfectly matched for this style of offense.

Our D needs work but recruiting will solve this.

Overall a GREAT day for the Wolfpack yesterday….even with an Loss.

I miss the days when the Pack actually played on TV. Thankfully the Holes will bring us back to TV land next week.

Hope we keep dem “hoes” in check today. Go pack

This seems like a broken record in Raleigh. Seems like I have heard this for way too many years.

“We simply aren’t very talented, and are extremely young where there is some talent. Wins are still gravy.”

I do agree on a couple of keys things.

    1. QB play has been positive and I’m glad he is here.

    2. Jury is certainly out on DD and his coaching ability. Talent or no talent (ok little talent) he still has to produce a product worth paying for.

    Defense needs some serious attention….

I don’t get to a chance to make the games anymore (kids sports every weekend) so I’m normally stuck to watching on the tube. Since we are never on TV anymore and my internet is dirt slow for ESPN3 I also settle for ESPN GameCast for this game like most others it seems.

What I’m reading (since I can’t watch it) is our 2nd game out is still a flashback of last year with a different QB.

Is this true? Are we really that bad all over again? I didn’t expect miracles and I know we have work to do. However, this is not what we should look like again this week against freaking ODU!

Please say it’s not this bad again in person! I’m naturally optimistic by habit but I don’t like the sound of this. Is it this bad…really?

I like them (well I could do without the red scratch marks and wolf eyes). Overall though I like the look of all black very much. I also like the all Red look as well.

I guess I’m the odd ball out with the fact I’ve never cared much for the all White uniforms. I do prefer the traditional/old school look vs the Oregon style usually. However, the all Black uniforms are OK in my book. Would I like them in all black with a tad more traditional look? Sure but I’m old now and if it makes a splash (we need all the help we can get these days) I’m game.

If we win and do it with authority then I would be happy with Rainbow colors for all I care.

Either way, I like the all black.

Good news for us but bad for Lutz. I kind of feel sorry for the guy (even though he has a GREAT gig currently in Raleigh) because he is striking out on HC jobs. Maybe it’s writing on the wall for him that NCSU is his final spot, maybe not???

I like the guy and I’m happy we have him. However, it’s obvious he wants to be a HC again very badly.

We have had the feeling of Deja Vu for A high number of years. Groundhog Day keeps showing up every year. Then again I think we may have been running a 0-0-0 last year so may calling it a 4-2-5 will help with something.

Based on who is hot on his trail I don’t see him leaning our way. You never know I guess but I would say we don’t have the best odds of landing him.

UL will be good very soon with Petrino back. He is a hungry coach right now and he will pick up good talent.

I hope Brissett is good and we are better as a team. I will reserve judgement for now mainly because of my new philosophy developed over many years of torture.

I have drank this Kool Aid before many times over the years only to find out it soured WELL before the expiration date.

If that’s the new design I’m certainly on board with it. Although it’s fairly large I’m happy to see it (if that is indeed the design). They got it right in my book.

Time will tell and that time is approaching fast. Plain and simple last season was horrid. The no huddle offense was a cluster that moved at a snails pace. That being said it was new and operating on QB’s not well suited for it. I am a big fan of the no huddle and it was clear RW as well as Glennon did well in it (in other words when we were playing come back). This year “should” be much more polished with the no huddle.

Anyway, I like the efforts and drive of the DD crew thus far. However, results are what we are looking for. As long as this year is far from last year we will be satisfied. Anything close to the same product will send SFN (and me) through the roof. People will not continue to pay for the current product nor one very similar.

I hate to admit it but I do kind of like the helmets (although an all black carbon fiber minus the red might be better). I am a traditionalist with football and would be fine with the solid color and single stripe helmets. I also hate the Oregon duck flashy crap. However, I am cool with trying to reach out to refresh the look to possibly attract players etc. Yes Alabama attracts plenty with the plain jane attire (which I like) but we are not Bama. We kept the block “S” and for that I’m still on board.

For once the “new” helmet is not Fugly but different. Good or bad….I don’t know yet. I like the old school look the best in CF but I can also dig this look as well. Heck, honestly I’m just open minded at this point because what else can I be? Our Athletic ship has gone through various $hit storms and still manages to float (barely). So I am going to be optimistic on this change and say why the heck not. If anything thing else it gets me excited about the first game to pass judgement on some new threads. If they play awesome I’m sure I will like them. If they play like White Dog $hit then they will be carbon fiber turds.

Maybe I’m going through the mid-life thing so I will say they are kind of cool. Whatever…paint the darn things $hit brown or hot pink. Just win…

I’m sitting here trying my best to think of something positive to say about decisions being made with our program (or should I say programs) but I can’t.

What else is there to say? It’s what we do an do well. Madness…

Best of luck Lewis. I think he will do well in the Butler system and will develop a better shot in the year off.

I don’t think he has been a dick or constantly put down Gott. He has voiced his opinion and now it’s well known (good or bad). I think he is a good kid (remember the key word there…kid) and was really frustrated. Prolly had people in his ear constantly swaying him to do this or that. I don’t think Gott was a dick to him either but it was CLEAR that Gott wanted a different direction.

Two parties that wanted different routes and seemed to disagree. That’s all it is and of course Lewis will voice his opinion more loudly now. Why? Because WBS is a kid venting and Gott is a coach/employee/professional
I liked WBS and am happy he found what he wanted. However, I’m also happy the drama is in the past now. Nothing more to see here….move along.

Can someone “leak” this game video to Gott? Thanks for pulling that old school game back out! It is simply amazing to see the tempo and style of that game. Fun to watch and man do I miss that full court press!

Fire sure played wide open. I will sit down and watch it all tomorrow night on the big screen. Just to watching it brings back some good feelings but most of all it shows how intense we played.

Dang it why can’t we play that intense on defense and offense.

I don’t have a negative or positive comment to make on WBS decision to leave. I have always been a fan of his court vision and passing. He ran the offense very well. We all know his weakness’ so no need to go there.

I think the best way to describe Gott and his role here is simple enough. He is on the edge of greatness or the edge of failure (so to speak). I say that because IF he can improve on the following weak point of his resume he will go far in Raleigh:

    Defense
    In game adjustments
    Actually designing plays

If he masters these we are good for sure. If not…well you know the drill. I am currently neutral on Gott because he is the best we’ve had since V. The items listed above I have been critical of Gott for. I am far from a hater towards Gott but that doesn’t mean we can’t question some of his abilities. He certainly has some weak spots but that may change.

Back to WBS for a moment. I still think if he picks the right opportunity and coach he will do exceptionally well. I never thought he liked Gott much but did like Raleigh. Something switched his excitement off this year. Either way, I hope he does well and I will pull for him. He is a a good kid.

For almost 2 years I thought WBS stood for White Ball Skills don’t ask me how or why. Well I know why for me because he was always referred to White Chocolate prior to getting to Raleigh (didn’t Harrow introduce him as White Chocolate one time?).

Maybe I missed something but WTF are people getting so cranky on the Nicknames? I would take issue myself if it were personally degrading someone. King Hippo was straight up Mike Tyson’s punch out. BSW showed up simply because his game is the identical twin of WSW. Maybe we should just change it to SWT (Scott Woods Twin) so people can sleep at night. Maybe it seems less severe for me since my friends (long time/Short time, black/white & rainbow) still watch the same games TOGETHER and use the same nicknames. Too many And 1 mixtape YouTube clips has me addicted to nicknames. Hot Sauce anyone???

My 8 year old daughter officially named the following players at the beginning of the season (true story & what we use for fun while watching the games).

CAT – Kitty barber shop (I take it she gets a kick out of his hair styles)

    Lewis – Shawty

    Vandy – hamburger

    Anya – Onion (my favorite)

    TJ – tha “J”

Heck I forgot the others but our kids make up nicknames. My Wife is a Tarhole (don’t go there) and so we have another set for those guys.

Either way I will move along now. This is a great site where we can all vent and then come back from all the stupid comments. We’ve all said at some point “they should fire the whole staff after that bed $&@$@&$”.

Keep up the good work guys. With or without nicknames I think this is a great place to be for all things red and white…
