Let me first say I am not an anti-Gott guy. HOWEVER, at year number 4 here is where we are:

    1. Just as inconsistent today as we were 4 years ago.

    2. It’s clear the talent is there but that’s as far as it goes. We are making nothing out of it.

    3. The problem here is NOT just one game and no the sky isn’t falling. However, again in 4 years we are still the same with Better talent?????

    4. We are STILL a bubble team at best.

    5. NO offense at all. NONE…that’s all that needs to be said.

    6. Year 4 and still don’t have a PG of ACC quality.

    7. Why not play 10 players and run the press full time? You have to be blind not to see it works with this team.

    8. Defense is still not good.

    9. I’m not saying Dez is ACC caliber BUT he does well enough to get more time. His defense was great last night. Yes, he is out of control a lot but he sure as heck ain’t scared to drive the ball!!!

    10. The CAT project is basically a fluke. He is worse now than when he got here. Everybody likes him but again it’s obvious his best attribute is defense.

    11. The team is still as unorganized as it was when Lowe was here.

Again, we are still a bubble team at best in year 4. That’s just a simple fact. Argue about all the other points but the fact is still the same. Bubble team at best.

Way to keep the same line up in Gott when they are ripping it up.

Put Cody back in and let Lacey run the point….Here we go again. On the plus side we prolly play better down 10 rather than 18 up.

I’m tired of hearing about the Wolfpack just barely loosing another one due to a young team. There are a boat load of excellent young teams. That’s not really a good reason for loosing anymore. Yes we are fairly young but still we shouldn’t be choking these leads or making some of the mistakes we make.

It’s easy for people to say hey man what do you expect ND was the #8 team. However, we are certainly talented enough that we should be better than we are. I’m not throwing stones here just saying this curse to never get to the Mtn top never goes away. I’m just beyond frustrated anymore.

I agree the top 25 thing probably isn’t a huge deal to the being picked/seeding. I’m just saying in general for the here and now picture I’m surprised we aren’t ranked.

When does this weeks top 25 rankings come out? I mean we pounded Duke, lost by 1 to the Holes and handled a road win at FSU. I know the top 25 is a curse for us but it’s still something we should want to be on. Yes, we have plenty of weak spots/issues but if you look at where we are right now we should be at 25 IMHO.

Dang…just now having a chance to catch up. We loose a 19 pt lead to freaking FSU jail ball? WTH??? Nevermind, sounds like Wolfpack basketball as usual.

Tough to hear that about Cat. Wish his family the best.

How do we have these meltdowns against weak competition?

I am not selling Cat down the river as I really do want him to do well (and he can). Call it the funk, rough patch or whatever term is best. This is year 2 of those same issues with even less urgency.

Can or will he get out of the “funk”? Who knows….However, you can’t get out of a shooting funk if you don’t shoot. Can’t get out of the funk if you don’t look to pass aggressively, can’t get out of the funk it you don’t drive etc…His “funk” is currently driven by his drive to change it. Play motivated, hard and aggressive and the funk can be broken. Play the same with the same scared to do anything attitude and nothing will change.

Play hard and fearless Cat and this issue will resolve itself. You have the physical talents all there.

As for Lewis, yes I was a big fan and loved his heart/offensive skill set. That ship has sailed so no need to compare anymore. That’s that…

It’s just strange the fastest guy on the court continues to play the most easy going slow offensive game. I am going to pull for Cat no matter what but right now he is not one of the 5 best on the offensive side of the ball. So let’s continue to hope it is the Fresh & Soph “funk”. In the meantime let Lacey handle the rock and hound Cat to play with a fire under his a$$.

Also agree ^^^ we need to be recruiting hard for a true PG! Cat’s offensive game continues to get weaker as others are significantly stepping up their play. We all want CAT to do well for obvious reasons. Fact is Lacey runs the point much better and Cat really can’t shoot or pass very well so the 2 guard is still a struggle for him. He is not aggressive with the ball at all. Bad thing is Gott put all his eggs in Car’s basket so we have limited options. Please recruit a terrific PG Gott….please.

Again I would love to eat crow with Cat if he somehow wakes up tomorrow a driven ball player. I just don’t see it happening though.

^^ yep, Lacey run the point. Cat can rotate in like everyone else. Patience is the theme word for ALL of Wolfpack Athletics…lol. Sorry but unless Cat does find some urgency and some offensive skills that boat is headed to Gilligans island.

With a true PG and a strong Leader this team would be tough. Even with the Ghost offense.

Speaking of Neutral that’s exactly what gear CAT stays in all the time. Man that kid drives me crazy. Lots of talent with no urgency. Great defense but virtually no offense (passing or shooting). Not very helpful from the guard spot. He drives the lane well but never does it???

I want him to do well and I like him. However, he isn’t much presence in a game. Makes no difference I guess since Gott loves him. Leave Lacey at the point and have CAT as a sub to give him a breather. Get those Martin boys in the game!!!

There is no urgency in CAT’s play..never has been any nor any shooting ability. He can play defense and drive the ball well (which he NEVER does). That’s all!

I did think Dez had nice minutes and ABU is going to be very good. I love the Martin twins!!!!

Hard fought even though we played a little rough. Very proud of the kids in Red.

Still think Gott is going to have to give some serious thought to what Cat’s role is going to be in the future.

    It was fun…I hate blue

Just don’t get Gott’s love affair with CAT? I want to like CAT soooo bad but dang he is almost a 0% threat on offense. No intensity at all. Dez was playing very well then you sit him.

Come on CAT take some crack or something!

Other than him being on the small side, Jakobi looks pretty impressive as a QB. He scrambles well and seems to have a strong arm.

Since Cody (Twin B) has finally been getting some playing time I have been very impressed. He is playing better than Caleb (A) over the last two games.

Agree….twins are better when they are both in the game.

Have we ever been in the top 25 (even for a brief second) since Gott has been here? Just curious that’s all. This is in NO WAY, SHAPE or FORM a knock on Gott! Like I said just curious that’s all.

    Great game…a few things.

    1. Where is Desmond Lee???

    2. The Martin Twins (both of them!) need to be in the game. Even with their rookie mistakes they play without fear and HUSTLE.

    3. Abu is better than Anya.

    4. Lacey needs to run point a lot more often.

    5. KW needs to be on the bench a lot more than he is. He is still a spaz.

    6. Lacey, Abu, Turner and the Martin Twins are a good lineup when paired together.

Much better effort today. It also helped that Pitt shot horribly. Still have lots to do on our 1/2 court offense but our transition offense is VERY good. If we play excellent Defense we can stay in the transition offense.
