    That was fun.

First off, let’s face it, Kennard should have been a durn near unanimous MVP for the league.

The fact that Jackson won MVP shows just how grossly negligent act journalists are. It’s the perfect example why some of us respect drug dealers more than these fanboys.

And here’s the thing – NYC is terribly expensive to compound things.

Also, it ain’t like you got a lot of time to hit the town (if you go to the game.)

People like Boeheim are just a fantastic combination of arrogance and ignorance. It’s like listening to a child speak.

I would hold the ACC in Greensboro for the next 5 years just for spite if I were king.

Personally, I am hoping for a match up that results in Barclay being an absolute ghost town.

Why does Boeheim even care. The tournament is shell of its former self.

The new format has all but assured an underdog won’t advance to the finals. While it does determine the acc champion, the drama has pretty much been removed.

Tickets to an acc tournament game used to be something special…Now, they can be scored cheaper than they could 30 years (not adjusting for inflation.)

If true Gott is a hypocrite. But, let’s face it, based on what we have heard, we can’t put that kind of behavior past him. As a matter of fact, it’s totally consistent with his behavior.

Unfortunately, the failure to connect these dots is a lost art in journalism. From what I can tell, most journalists don’t really try to ask tough questions if doing so will alter their existing beliefs.

Deacs and Hokies game winner clinches a bid and can start making NCAA plans…The loser gets to sweat it out.

No buzz around it. Also because state fans rarely get what we want. (Probably moreso than that.)

Interesting that DSJ and Simmons both missed the tourney in their one year of college. Stinks for them.

Onto the carousel. Hoping for Archie to return, even though that appears unlikely.

Either TOB lived under a lucky charm….or the lad could recruit QB’s.

He and Bible could recruit and coach up QBs. Few were better in the college coaching biz than Dana Bible when it came to developing these guys and preparing them for the next level. Luck had zilch do to with it.

We would have been just fine if we had brought TOB in a few years earlier. I doubt we would have hung any banners, but we would have see-sawed between 4-4 and 5-3 most years.

He was old and his staff – between Bible’s cancer and the OL coach’s Parkinson’s really had some health challenges. I am sure you don’t feel like begging 18 year olds as much when that starts to happen.

As it is , we hit the .500 mark (or in 1 year better) 4 out of his 6 years. We beat UNC-CH 5 out of 6 years too, no other state coach has had a run like that since Dick Sheridan.

I don’t know what Lunardi is thinking. I sometimes think he hates the ACC – or maybe it’s just the non-tobacco road acc teams.

There is no way that Wake is a last 4 in right now. They have a top 40 RPI, a top 40 sos, a strong ooc schedule. Now, they could poop the proverbial bed and lose to BC, but else they should be in- even with a loss to VA Tech. (Granted, a loss to VA Tech would indeed bubble them, but at this point and time – they are in as a 9 or 10 seed.)

As VA Wolf indicated – the likely wake – tech game loser does result in a nervous Sunday. Right now those – Wake’s #s should equal bid and not no last 4 in seed.

    Botb – Amen.

The first order of any Church should be being Christians first. Politics must take a back seat to the love of Christ and the love of your neighbors. This doesn’t mean that we can’t have disagreements on issues – even passionate ones. It does mean that we can’t let these disagreements pull us apart or play that “I am less of a sinner than you” game.

And our local media has been just as disgusting. They should be screaming loud and clear about the hypocrisy of these organizations, but they aren’t because they because they want to “win” the issue.

The NBA could have made a much bigger statement by having a rainbow court and totally going all out to vocally and visibly support LGBT,..Used the game for a showcase but they are afraid of the financial impact. This is all about power.

GC – I agree with you.

Here locally Charlotte has gotten a pass for starting this Firestorm. And ironically, no town (with possible exception of Greensboro) has suffered more.

Also worth of note – the democrats could have repealed around Christmas, but they didn’t want a moratorium (more specifically RC didn’t want that. What he does want is credit for saving poor old NC.)

As for the boycotters – most of these folks are the ultimate hypocrites.

Swimming is awesome. These guys dominated. Major props to Yow for major improvements in non-revenue sports.

Now, if we can just find the equivalent of this guy in basketball we will be PDH.

Gott has won and put together multiple runs at 2 P5 schools now.

Not a whole lot of coaches can say that. He did well initially and even though his second season the team underachieved, we didn’t collapse totally.

In years 3 and 4 – with pretty much his guys, he had decent years. But in these first four years, it appeared he had a clear and defined ceiling – in no small part due to his teams attention to detail on the defensive end.

So, for me – at that point – his performance to date merited at least 2 more years. Year 5 wasn’t good – but in general, the team competed.

Personally, I viewed year 6 as the indicator in whether Gott could ever get us to turn the corner from bubble team, to P5 national title and conference title contender. I figured deep down that we would end up on the bubble again thanks to mediocre defense. I was not looking forward to the wolfpack civil war – between those saying 5 tourneys in 6 years and those saying 17 years experience and hasn’t built or sustained anything special. (Both of which would have been undeniable.)

Sometimes – you get your answer gift wrapped for you. I don’t think Gott’s offcourt behavior helped him either. If you are going to preside over a sinking ship – you should at least be able to show that you do not deserve a mutiny.

Yow was fair in this. Like the DD hire – there were clear red flags bringing in Gott. Unlike DD, these flags were not a lack of experience or also indicative of very poor personal behavior. Whereas DD can be given a chance to pick up the pieces with a few bad breaks, with Gott it was clear that this was all part of a trend. A guy who could coach and could turn around a team’s fortunes, but someone incapable of sustaining them and building on them.

The shot by dsj is the price you pay for a talent and mental makeup of a guy like him…And I mean that as a compliment. He wants to take and make big shots.

The other bad shots are to be expected. If you have the green light with Gott – you are rarely punished. It’s been obvious to me since his second year that he plays favorites. I think he loves some of these kids, but I think he doesn’t operate with an even hand.

I can actually tolerate the occasional bad shot from some guys in some situations, but the mental lapses and overall lack of effort on D have always bothered me.

Isn’t it telling that the more Gott put his “stamp” on the team, the worse it Gott? Very similar to one of our football coaches.

Wake has a huge game vs Va Tech this weekend.

Win that one and their ticket is punched. Lose it and they may have to win @ least 2 in the ACC tourney. Manning has his team in a gott-ish position (for Gott’s first 4 years.)

Yo Roo – did you say Sidney Lowe had a good resume???

His resume was bad. No college experience, no college degree…. I believe he either has the worst or one of the 5 worst NBA HC records in NBA history. Granted, he was coaching bad franchisees, but there was no evidence he could make chicken salad from the excrements of the pollo.

The DD search was a smooth one and he was a “hot commodity” – but a football coach like him is much different than a basketball coach like Archie.

However, it must t noted that we got a head start on that gig as well. Isn’t funny that there was no gnashing of teeth and wailing when TOB was shown the door with 3 consecutive non-losing Conference stints (a rare feet with different QBs @ NC state) but yet after 2 muy malo seasons, the ESPN talent sheds tears for the gott boy.

The expectations are too ridiculous when a coach like Gottfried does a good job given your program standing (in your own state and national perception) yet gets fired mid season.

I am interested in finding out exactly what our expectations are. How bout you fill us in on what we evidently expect?

Heard a tidbit on the post game show that in home acc games our opponents shot 51% from the 3 point line.

    Impressive.
