The only unplanned departure in the off season that would hurt would be Tracy transferring.
We expect Costner to graduate and go to Europe.
That leaves us short in the frontcourt- only Horner/Tracy and Howell.We have a bunch of 1, 2, and 3’s that we could handle some departures in these positions.
I just don’t see it. I think the guys maybe frustrated and even confused with playing minutes, etc. But I also think Sid has played a lot of players this year, so each of them should believe they will get minutes. CJ & Mays have gotten a lot of time as unheralded players, so they shouldn’t complain.Unfortunately, the refs typically don’t blow the whistle at the end of game. Ben needed to go up quickly with a hook, or send it back out for a jump shot. When he made a move in traffic, he was clobbered, but there were too many bodies involved so it was easy for the refs to no do shit.
We can still win the ACCT and get in to the NCAAT.
That’s how Sid did it in 83. That team pulled it together against stiff competition and got it done.Actually, it seems far fetched. But I am a Wolfpacker as well, and I won’t give up on this team until the season is finished…

Degand must be injured, not sure about Thomas, Fergie.I think Tracy got caught in a couple of double teams and didn’t handle it. There must have been some issues on defense as well.
Horner actually plays smart, even though he is small, he blocks out, gives us some outside shooting ability for a big. So I think Sid went with him exclusively, especially after Costner fouled out.CJ should have been playing all along. He is one of our most athletic guys, so I don’t know what’s going on with that.
You have to say that Javi did play ok. He still makes some bonehead plays, but hell so does Fells/Costner. Costner had like 5 turnovers himself.Anyway, everything worked until we blew it at the end. So whatever, Sid was doing was working. We just did not finish it off. Horner FT’s, Fells not stepping up and taking the ball to the hole, Ben getting mugged- pick your poison. Sid can’t execute this for these guys, they have to get it done and they didn’t. Typical NCSU history.
I think we would be better off getting blown out by 30 the whole game, then we could just say we suck vs. we can’t execute/coach/etc…
Sorry, Sid is our guy. If you don’t like it too bad. Glad it is a 6 year contract instead of a 5 yr. contract.
As far as Sid’s intelligence:
I had one class with him and Derek W., they were freshman and I was a senior, some free elective class. I had an opportunity to interact with each of them.
It was very obvious who had more intelligence between the 2 and it wasn’t DW.
When Lee selected Sid, I was very happy it wasn’t Derek, although Derek had the coaching experience….1. Bad officiating- too much of it- these guys should be the ones fired….

3. Costner/Fells did not get it done in the 2nd half
4. Javi played good enough
5. Mays played terrible- Degand must be hurting not to see any playing time
6. Tracy can’t handle the double team- they didn’t double him until the 2nd half, where he became ineffective and sat on the pine
7. We haven’t learned to put teams away- we lack confidence- this goes against the team leaders- Fells/Ben/Costner- not Sid
8. Ben played great- he got mugged the last play of regulation- refs sucked

Greensburg- would not want this tyrant coaching my son or our team- very much a disrespectful person- he should have been thrown out of the game- remember he is teaching these 18-22 year olds how to act as men- the show he puts on and the language is not acceptable in the typical workforce and the refs should have ejected him- can’t believe he got away with this. I wouldn’t have my son play for such a d..k
10. Refs call on Fells as flagrant was totally wrong. This should be a reviewable call- somehow this needs to be addressed by ACC officials. One of the other officials should have over ruled this call- Easy to see the block.Please refrain from calling for Sid’s head- sort of childish. Really flaky to say fire Sid. The guy has a 5 year contract. No good would come from changing coaches now or at the end of this season. Very immature to say this.
Is he the best coach? No. But, you are talking about canning a true NCSU fan/champion that cares more about this university and program than anyone of us on this blog. Is he the long term answer? Maybe not, but he gets his chance to finish out our committment. Anything less is not an option.I believe VT was favored, they are the better team at this point, they were playing at home. This was a winnable game for us, but it didn’t happen. So, we are 2-6. Live with it, don’t watch it, walk your dog, wait for FB, whatever you want to do.
