He has the same awkwardness, and ability to constantly be out of position on defense. And earlier in his career, Wood was streaky like that with his 3s.
Is Ralston Turner essentially the black version of Scott Wood? He either nails his 3s or he’s totally useless.
Buckets has that Rodney Monroe “poker face” demeanor – but his motor is absolutely constant. He works his ass off.
Starting the weekend off pretty damned good. Pack firing on all cylinders, NOT letting Pitt drag us down to their speed.
This also makes the schools’ bowl game guilt pitches less effective. Realistically, you don’t “cost” your school very much when you buy your ticket on Craigslist instead of through official channels (or decide not to go at all). Since the ACC covers it before distributing the funds…you are only “costing” the school 1/14 of face value of the ticket.
I’ve read all of Crichton, too (hey, I do have an engineering degree). IMHO, the two best were Andromeda Strain and Congo. Don’t be fooled by the movies (other than Jurassic Park) sucking, his books are fantastic with great technical detail.
One random thought, from watching the Big East marathon on NYE – what they’ve done is essentially create the SEC football of mid-major basketball. It will be very interesting how that alters the major vs mid-major landscape.
Overall wins is a meaningless stat, dance card-wise. The committee has made that clear.
What will matter most for us is how our OOC foes play the next few months, particularly TN. A road win against a Top 50 OOC team would be good, Top 25 would be fantastic.
A very narrow silver lining – TWC just extended my “loyalty discount” package for another 12 months, without my even asking. That tells me they are feeling the heat at least a little bit. And given how much TV I watch (still the cheapest form of entertainment out there, especially for a sports person), I can live with it.
