    Yep.
I hardly watch any games anymore. The MBB run last year was a fluke.

Now I just check the score the next day.

I might watch the cheater games, until we fall too far behind.

Definitely not going to put any more money towards MBB or football until changes are made at the top.

    It’s just sad.

    Red,
I wholeheartedly ate a plate of crow.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the run.

    So,
I had to travel down east for work and on the way back I diverted a bit so I could stop by the campus. During summer break thankfully.
It had been quite a long while since I’d been back. Probably 25-30 years.
Sat peacefully in the Quad for a while. Did a little daydreaming while remembering the pranks we pulled. We had a first floor room that was ground level. We put an outdoor speaker just outside our window hidden in the bushes by the walkway to Berry dorm. Had a microphone hooked up through our amplifier. For about a week we’d snort like a pig at unsuspecting chicks when they were just past the speaker. Later, when word got around, we just started talking to them.

Next thing, tennis ball cannons were a big thing on those long hallways. When I went home one weekend,I noticed that the inside diameter of a telescoping screwjack post was a little larger than a tennis ball. With a little modification it became the macdaddy of all tennis ball guns. We could stand at one end of the hall and shoot through the window of the other end. RA never said a thing.

Anyway, I ended up finding the bookstore. It’s not in the same place. Bought a sweatshirt for my daughter.

Walked over to Mitch’s and had a nice meal and a couple beers. Damn. Long time ago. Talked to the manager. Told him I still had one of their glass pitchers that somehow ended up being tossed over the edge of the stairs and caught by my buddy. He said if I ever made it back, bring the pitcher and they’d put it up on the wall.
I think they probably use plastic ones now.

All that to say, I truly hope that we can sleep peacefully in the future, but I’m afraid that our young men only died to temporarily preserve that peace.

    GO PACK!!!
Brings back fading memories of 74, but especially ‘83. I was at State from ‘76 through ‘82. But I made it back to Raleigh for the game against Houston.
    Just WOW…

Folks gradually moved over to PackPride after the arguing here rose to a very aggravating level. Sort of like some of the threads on PP now.

I only went to a couple of the threads on the brickyard for that reason.

Well I’ll be. I remembered my password.
The Brickyard at Pack pride isn’t working, only VIP mode right now.

I never perused packfansnation. After reading your post, I made the attempt, but apparently you have to make an account to see anything. Not happening.

Nope, it’s still the same old pissing match between rational people and irrational dumbasses. There’s a couple of threads that I read occasionally. One about covid lockdown jokes, and one about “I learned something new today”. So far the pissing and moaning haven’t reached those threads yet.

With the appointment of the new czar of misinfo, real news may be hard to come by.

I would make some snarky comment on the Vichy president, but it would probably attract moths to the flame from the other site.

Packfanweb, maybe you should start a motorboat thread here. With less clothes.

That’s a powerful way to remember the fallen. Thank you.
I spent a good part of the afternoon tidying up my Dad’s grave (and Mom’s and uncles’).
It’s a peaceful cemetery out in the country. No noise, nice breeze, and overlooking grain fields and forests. A good place to remember and appreciate the deeds of the fallen.
Dad was a P-51 pilot in the European theatre. He lost several good friends, but did return to have a family and live a long life.

Tex, we machine the blades that shear rebar to length for steel mills at my machine shop. Big serrated mammer-jammers.

Being from East campus, we ate at Sadlack’s a bit. The John Hill’s Delight and the Dr. Frank’s Special were good sandwiches.

I guess Sadlack’s is no more?

Being from rural Stanly County, we never had any type of “ethnic” food. I remember the first bagel I ever saw was laying in the hall. I thought it was some kind of donut. It was hard as a rock and we played hockey with it for days until someone stomped it.

Sacrilege! Only men with scars worked there late 70’s early 80’s. Do they still use the chute that you slide your order down?
