BassPackerParticipant
Amazing game win or lose it Clemson. ACC
BassPackerParticipantYea I know, just like opening call Kiper an idiot. Good Natty so far.
BassPackerParticipantOnly Kiper has Tribisky higher, he is an idiot. He said RW wouldn’t get drafted as not NFL caliber qb. Can’t blame Tribisky, its a down year as ever for qb in nfl. Look what happened to Miami and Oakland. And then theres Jets, Cleveland, Minn…on and on who need a qb.
BassPackerParticipantExactly Rick ! How many non targeting calls is it now, 4 ?? Slac12 refs.
BassPackerParticipantGuess they don’t do steroid testing on the refs………
BassPackerParticipantYea, its hard to keep up with live action with that format. I switched back to espn. DD is moonlighting perhaps. It can’t hurt, like a classroom setting for him with other coaches perspective live.
BassPackerParticipantAnyone tuned into espn2 and DD doing play analyst of game. Could be a good thing, as he’s taking note of a lot of the plays and complex designs. Hard to keep up with actual game viewing it that way but kinda cool hearing other coaches opinions of game in progress.
BassPackerParticipantYep, a lot of bias so far from PAc 12 refs. Guess Swoff not as big man as the SEC commish.
BassPackerParticipantBama by 40, same as last year? Bama won by 5 last year. YIKES!
Damn the SEC….GO TIGERS !!!
BassPackerParticipantNope….Not a quote from Gott, it was a press quote after the post game interview. Is it just another dump on DSJ Or just another observation on the game? Hope DSJ scores 50 in the next game, heck, it all the remaining games. Hope he is the MVP of the universe. Hope Gott wins a National Championship with DSJ. Scratch that, hope Gott wins an ACC championship with DSJ. Scratch that, hope Gott wins a game over ole Roy with DSJ.
BassPackerParticipantWow, Troll, you related to Smith? Cool the engines. Nobody is dumping on DSJ. Its just opinions on the game just like yours. Its called a pubic forum for a reason. Interesting read on the post game interview with Gott. This is a quote from the press, not mine.
“missed first four shots and turned the ball over three times, was out-of-control bad, seemingly from the very start. Then the rest of the game followed the script of those first two-and-a-half minutes pretty strictly”.
BassPackerParticipant“The rest of the TEAM followed and no one else on the floor picked up the slack…” Guess needed someone say it better for you to get what I’m saying Troll?
How the game started had a huge effect on the outcome of the game…..period. Even how much they lost by. Down by 19 in first 5 minutes and you can see the game was lost before it started. Poor play by Smith was followed by poor play by the rest of team is well said. It can’t be overstated, mentally it took the team out of game by Smith’s early play. Its not dumping on Smith, its what happened, IMO. Guess we can agree to not agree. Sometimes criticism is part of the learning curve. Perhaps it was in Gotts game plan for Smith to be aggressive, IDK. But it changed the game and outcome. Cant say it enough, you can’t win the game in the first few minutes but you can lose it.
BassPackerParticipantCome on man, you have to admit Smith came out of the gate with more desire for a showcase moment than a team win…… All I’m saying. He dug a hole the first few minutes: one on one first series, threw up brick(s), turn the ball over, made poor passes and had two quick fouls in the process. Then settled down on the bench while his team struggled to gain any momentum. My POINT is (was) Smith came out forced it instead of letting game come to him at a new and hostile game site. It hurt the team and its confidence, specially after he hit the splinters. They were beat before it hardly started. That was Smith. That was not on GOTT. Team ball is coaching, I agree. But it was obvious Smith had his own game plan too. Gott can’t be faulted if a player has his own agenda. It looked that way from the tip, IMO.
I agree this team is talented. Probably most talented since 1973. And this Cheat team is overrated. With that said, it makes this loss hurt more and goes on Gott. I like most do admit quick to point fingers with arm chair solutions. Its on Gott to coach the talent. His history as some have pointed out is not on our side. Frustration has overridden hope….again.
BassPackerParticipantLook out OT13, some on this site will 100% disagree with your statement some of our players need to start playing team ball instead of for the NBA. I for one agree 100% with that statement. The UNC – VT game was bout as close as two opposites that will ever see in Pack play. So was the outcome.
BassPackerParticipantWe have more problems than coaching if players lost mental focus from a 16 hour delay in tip off.
BassPackerParticipantYep, its my opinion Troll, don’t need you to agree. Smith has to learn let the game come to him, specially one that is his first game ever in the Dean Dome and his first ever against Carolina. One can’t lose the game in the first 5 minutes but one sure as heck can lose it.
BassPackerParticipantThis one is not on the coach. He can’t run the offense. Smith can and should. Disagree Troll, Smith came out forcing it. It became contagious, specially after the team saw Smith take a seat on the bench. Call it confidence or being cocky, Smith tried to be the game instead of bring the game. It will be a team loss.
BassPackerParticipantI like Dennis Smith, glad he is in the red/white. Having said that, he took an attitude I’m gonna show the Blues I’m good and from the get go, took him, his team and PackNation out of this game. Don’t care how good you are or how good you think you are, one has to play team ball. Smith started started the hole, the team just made it deeper trying to recover. I don’t blame that on being a freshman, I blame that on not being team oriented. Run the offense, get your team involved, rest will happen. Damn teaching moments.
BassPackerParticipantI’ve seen enough. Damn I rather loose by 50 to Dook than lose by one to the Cheats. Thank goodness for NFL playoffs.
BassPackerParticipantSMH…
Must got more snow on the Hill than in Durham. Dook played to a full house earlier.BassPackerParticipantACC looking good overall. Surprised Pitt is the one loss so far. But in their defense, losing Conner and starting QB to injury was game breaking. Pulling for all ACC teams cept the Cheats. Hope they get a big L. Not a fan of any kid sitting out their bowl game, specially to insure his NFL stock but can understand it. Think we will see more of it next bowl season. Shame has the bowl game should be a reward for players as a team and those dedicated fans who travel to their respective bowl game.
BassPackerParticipantMy mom had big smile Rick when I told her of your success. She said you should be proud as that cake is a level 10 on expertise and dedication, lol. Any pictures of the masterpiece?
BassPackerParticipantAgree X, can’t be overstated how big win that was for the women’s program. Got little nervous when ND started raining threes. Must hit 8 in a row to cut score to 6. Wolfpack women stepped it up from then on after a TO. Reynolds really looked impressive on tv, love the floor.
BassPackerParticipantYeah !!! My mom ask me how the cake turned out Rick !! Glad it was a hit. It always is with my family !! Yogi, is correct, a good cake takes a lot of effort and time. Gotta roll up dem sleeves, sift some flour, break some eggs, crack and shred the coconut and stir the pot just to get the frame work. That’s why its not just a cake, its a “special” occasion cake. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
Go Pack !! I’ll be listening to game as we travel for belated Christmas get together at my daughters in Happy Valley. My son in-law is a State grad…..Penn St that is. They always love it when we bring food contraband across the Mason Dixon. This trip is country ham, grits, sweet tea and Aviator/Southern Pines brewery beers.
BassPackerParticipantYogi is correct, add 2/3 cup boiling water to the sweet mixture over a double broiler of water. Do it slowly as mixing. Just an AWB in the kitchen Bill, one that is more at home in front of a grill with a cold adult beverage within reach.
