Coach, don’t leave out the most painful and embarrassing loss for this ole Harnett County boy that I can never live down. That would be the home loss to Campbell College.
Teams should pay State for finding their “New” starting qb. Last year at Clemson, we knock out their starting qb, in comes freshman backup Watkins and a star is born. Out goes Colson, in comes Maquire and a new starter is exposed for FSU. Just can’t figure out the State curse of providing opposing teams little unknown players with career and record breaking game performances. Damn I hope show up Thanksgiving or WTNY again and again.

Can Dook appeal the loss? If the ACC agrees the officials made a mistake in allowing the play to stand, then why is not the one play void as would be the W by the U?
I’m not on the dump DD wagon just yet. I am disappointed in the season so far, specially how the loses played out. Losing at home to the birds wasn’t a shock as much as how we lost at Blacksburg. The team looked more like an Amato coached team that DD. Take away two series and some bone head defensive penalities and outcome at VT may have been dramatically different. The two series we went 3 and out while starting on the 10 yrd line or less was a killer that got VT rolling in the 2 quarter. Our poor kicking game helped magnify the field change. Throw in the penalities that would have been a 3 and out for VT but rather gave them first downs plus 15 yrds and one can see how this spiraled out of control into VT favor quickly. Throw in the injury and it goes on into the second half. I do believe better play calling on O would have helped side the spiral. Point being we sort of did ourselves in at VT more than anything. Games like this happen, things seem to go from bad to worse on a few key series or calls. Two missed calls and one reversed face mask against VT was also a killer IMO. What this team/staff does from here on out is more concerning that the two loses.

It does seem like an unlucky incident that perhaps got blown out proportion due to Shad past and status. There is some questions and concerns that probably tied Coach DD hands. I would guess Shad was already on double probation. Was it ever released what team rules Shad violated for the 2 game suspension? The moped incident could have just been the final straw with some smaller problems. One could be Shad was breaking team curfew since the accident happened almost at 10 pm. I’m still curious how they found out it was Shad driving the moped. The guy he hit claims he never told him who he was. He also said he did not know Thorton.
Guess bottom line was when is enough enough? Shad seems to have developed a pattern. A pattern that seemed detrimental to him and the team. This warranted dismissal. Its a catch 22 for Coach DD, Shad and the university. I wish Shad the best of luck, hope he graduates and grows from it all.
First, why is one of your starting top running backs driving a moped in downtown Raleigh and/or on campus? Seems Coach D should have put the brakes on that early on. Second, from all reports, Shad was not involved in a hit and run. It was only that he left the scene. Can you blame the kid? I mean, not trying to make light of a situation that know only what has been reported or maybe blown out of proportion. Look, if it was my kid with a history, coming off suspension and told “keep your nose clean”, he would have probably made the same bad choice and left. It happens in the moment. And it was a moment for Shad. Can’t blame Shad for leaving, but maybe Coach can’t overlook another eyesore.
Hit someone on a moped….really? We got several liquor cycle drivers in our community, can’t recall one incident with them over the years. They have a harder time walking into the liquor store than driving their liquor cycle there. Shad is the ultimate “C’Mon on Man” !!

Looks like Gott has 4 possible transfers interested in State. I have mixed feelings about bringing in tranfers on a regular bases. One it discourages possible freshman commits but on the other hand, like Henderson, it will fill a void quickly due to graduation or early departures.

RW should be more appreciative where he is at rather than giving media and fans negative opinionated material. Specially a situation that can be debated if was handled right or wrong. Guess that’s what made my blood boil when first heard the comment(s). What was the point now?
My comments are more toward those who argue TOB handled the situation wrong like he ran Wilson off. Those were not just passing references with a casual answer to a reporter from Wilson stating he was run off. No need to post a link on Wilsons announcement, it was highly reported and stated by Wilson he was gonna play professional baseball. Anyone who followed Wilson knew his first choice was the diamond. Anyone who was at the last home game Wilson played knew had decided to take the Rocky road and head to the mountains. Don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing RW in Wolfpack red and white another year, it would have made those LTR seats bills easier. Facts are facts, Wilson was overated on the diamond and perhaps alittle misguided with which sport he would have a better chance to succeed. I think Wilson reference was more a jab at NCState because he had success at Wisky and now NFL, why he needs to be careful what he says about his departure with State/TOB. Maybe even alittle bitter because TOB chose Glennon instead of jumping when Wilson decided to come back in the fall. Like someone said….time to move on just like Wilson did…. or said he was.
I’ll probably get blasted for saying this BUT….”cry me a river Russell”. He just needs to shut up…he made his decision to play professional baseball and TOB did not owe him anything. I was at senior day, Wilson went thru ceremonies and basically did what he told TOB, he told everyone in Carter he was playing baseball. If Wilson really was honest, his paultry stats on the diamond was more the factor in his decision to come back. I don’t fault TOB with his decision to stick by Glennon. You can’t have your cake and eat it too….Wilson announced he was gone, went thru the motions, and then decided to come back and cries about being kicked off? If I decide to leave my wife for some young blonde because everyone told me its where I should be and better move then decide to come back to my wife like nothing happened only to find the locks have changed and she’s moved on…well…you wouldn’t hear me saying “I was kicked out”. Life is full of hard choices, Wilson made his that senior day. TOB did the right thing, Glennon was the only one who should not have had the rules changed and they were not.
Well crap….seems like anytime theres a glimmer of hope for something special with a Pack team, it gets dashed. I can understand Lacey decision but honestly don’t see it. I hate the NBA and what it has done to the college game of basketball. If something doesn’t happen to make the NCAA game worth more than just an education to top players, then the college game will become the Washington Generals of NBA.
