BassPackerParticipant
Twin A has checked out for this game. Stupid play from him.
BassPackerParticipantInsomnia has set in…..pass around those blue…I mean red…..no yellow pills.
BassPackerParticipantThese announcers are awlful…do they even know what they are saying? Babble….
BassPackerParticipantDont have a good feeling bout tonite.
BassPackerParticipantThe Holes go down….
now lets see the Noles go down…BassPackerParticipantMaybe there will be, maybe not. Look at it this way, maybe there is (was) a secret plan in place to remove Gott and hire Archie. Think about it, it would explain the sudden reasoning of giving Gott an extention before first game was played. DY and Gott are close, maybe she wanted to give him a parting security retirement blanket to step aside for Archie. Sounds far fetched? Maybe….maybe not. DY is gonna retire soon, maybe this was all a plan Maybe I’m watching too much TMZ?
BassPackerParticipantI try stay positive by considering as some say injury and early departure has more to say bout this years lack of success more than Gott but after last nite its getting hard. I agree with this statement, “the physical fatigue of the short bench is synching up with the mental grind of having nothing to play for”. And this is on Gott.
Its obvious this season has gone down the crapper quicker than Monday nites burrito. For the life of me I can’t understand why Gott is not trying different line ups or players. Does he not see the fatigue issue of only playing same guys? Last nite Gott went to the extend the game by fouling plan, and it almost worked. But if you got 2 of your main rotation guys in foul trouble, aka Martin A, then why is he out there fouling out? Is Dana Kirk so bad he is not even capable of hitting the floor long enough to commit a foul?
This building tidal wave of despair will be a tsunami next season with departure of Cat and Abu. Who else will be adding their name to the list? I just don’t see nothing good happening next season or beyond without some major changes both in staff and philosophy.BassPackerParticipantAgreed….Kirk should be out there to foul……bet he even says that…”come on Coach, put me in”..and an air ball layup by Rowan….cheezus.
BassPackerParticipantOn a good note, the Wolfpack women won tonite over UVa to go 5-2 in ACC. I can’t ever remember a Pack women’s home game the same nite and time as Mens game.
BassPackerParticipantoh my, between this game and that Outback Steak House commercial for roasted sirlion I almost gagged. A good NC State Vet could bring that piece of meat back to life. Bloody raw and oozing with blood!!
BassPackerParticipantCould it happen? If we don’t run out of gas…need Maverick to make an appearance in this game.
BassPackerParticipantGetting out played, out rebounded, out scored and out hussled at home by a Bryan Gregory coached team…..pathetic.
BassPackerParticipantWow, when you see our schedule on paper its really is brutal. Our away games are gonna be tough under any circumstances. I just don’t see more than 4 or 5 wins tops next season. BC is no gimme as they had one of the best D in country this yr and return most. ECU is an unknown. Of note, UNC gets FSU as their cross over game. Still there is just no comparison to Coastal over Atlantic when it comes to overall strength. Looking forward to see how it unfolds with the new offense at Carter next year.
BassPackerParticipantPlaying away from Little John seems to be working well for Clemson. I have several Clemson grad friends, none are too confident Coach Brad will continue this run. Very similar comments from them about Brad as we have discussed with Gott.
BassPackerParticipantWas at the game last nite as the Canes hosted the Defending Stanley Cup Champs Blackhawks. Two observations. One is that Blackhawks fans show up, felt more like a visiting game for Canes. They were loud and visible early on. Thank goodness Canes shut them up within first 2 minutes and never let off the throttle with a 5 zip shutout. Second observation….who was that team in red last nite? It was by far the best performance this season and maybe since winning the Cup. Play like that on a regular basis would fill the seats with Canes fans not visiting teams fans. With that being said, still is hard for the average family to justify the cost over experience.
BassPackerParticipant^specially when you are one of the worst teams in the league (tough market). Very similar to Pack basketball, gotta have something to keep fans excited or attendance falls off. Its been almost 10 years since Canes even made the playoffs, no market is gonna support fan base with that. I used to go to games alot, each season have gone less and less. Its an expensive sport to attend with ticket prices and the crazy vendor prices unless its a family nite promotion game. Parking fees alone makes us stay home, just crazy. A family of 4 will spend over $300 to see them lose. Who can afford that in any market.
BassPackerParticipantHe was at game yesterday.
BassPackerParticipantThis loss is ALL on GOTT. Poor in game coaching. It was obvious Dook was leaving our big open top of lane. When we were aggressive there, like feed ball to Abu we scored and dominated. Once we started jacking up 3’s instead of pounding the middle, Dook went on a run and game over. Pack did that in the 1st half, went uup by 10. 2nd half was like they forgot what was working. Good effort…poor coaching.
BassPackerParticipantTwo quick bad calls on Abu…AMAZING !!
BassPackerParticipantGreat half of basketball for Pack ! Feed Abu….Feed Abu !!!
BassPackerParticipantChicken or pork in the pot BBeach? Man some B stew would be excellent right now !! I get my fix occasionally at Smithfields.
BassPackerParticipantPower back ON !!! Just in time for game. Hope this is an Omen. Queens of Stoneage…..perfect pregame choice !! GO PACK !!!!
BassPackerParticipantThe Wolf Line is running, the students will be there. You guys are way over the top when it comes to screwing State theories and give Coach K too much credit. Same thing happened last year with UNC/Dook game, Coach K didn’t want to drive 10 miles to Hill because the Dome would be full of students and nothing much else. Same will happen at PNC. That should favor us. I’m more shocked Coach K did not request the game NOT be played than go as scheduled with PNC full of students. If this so called conspiracy is true, Dook would pushed to have it postponed as Jefferson will be back to play. Go Pack !
BassPackerParticipantNo power here n Mayberry rural Harnett County but still got battery power smartphone. Go Pack. Need some positive results to cheer up this winter ice storm gloom.
BassPackerParticipantAs said, football hire is still to be judged but like the direction and energy DD brings. In fairness to Yow, think overall she has done a good job with hires considering the past failures. Perhaps State was not as popular destination as some thought, example the basketball search. Gott was and is the best we could Gott then. I think Gott has elevated our basketball program but it was so low up was only place it could go. Overall, the success of Yow can also be attributed to the failure of past AD’s. Fowlup was content with coaches despite their success. Example was the volleyball coach under Fowler, she was 6-139 in conference. It should not have taken an admistration change to get a coaching change. Same could be said for other coaching positions prior to Yows arrival.
