Sobering reality of our place in the pecking order.

    Don’t understand the negativity ….

UVA scored 71 on the notorious turd defense of Louisville (who only scored 55). Confirmed, Rick Pitino can’t compete in the ACC.

LMAO at the subtle use of prior logic expressed

Frank Langella has the lower Carolina in the Elite 8. Nice job.

I guess there is some resemblance …. but Martin has done a hell of a job at SC

Winning the presser is easy. I’d like to see a good in game coach, making strategic adjustments. Gott was a C- at best and regularly out coached by the likes of Roy or K. I’m not sure about this pressing defense thing, sounds like a gimmick, I’d rather see a coach with a real defensive system that can just shut people down. And can we get back to recruiting top shooters? Feels like that stat has regularly dropped. If he can keep all eligible in the fold this is a 7 seed team at worst.

    A C- for in game adjustment? Try a F-.

+1 He loves NC State; he inherited a quagmire at UNCW
+ 1,000 He makes in game adjustments

I’m just now really catching up on who KeaTTs is but the biggest thing that stuck out at me was his teams lost to Duke and UVA in the last two years in the big dance by single digits. Undermanned and they still had a chance to knock two really big names in not only the ACC but in all of NCAA. Time to give the guy a chance. As far as a high school pedigree Hargrave with two championships is about as good as it gets from my perspective. Give him the ability to have higher caliber recruits and he may really surprise some people. I was high on Smart 6 years ago, I think Keatts upside is much better than Smart, to the point where in 2 or 3 years we may be giving him a substantial raise. I’d sure like to silence the naysayers.

Seriously? You allow this thread to stay but delete a post critical of the thread.

Nope. I deleted posts with sixth grade personal attacks.

[/quote]then you missed quite a few including the personal attacks on our AD and new coach …

    Yow screwed up again.
Another coach with no defense or morals.

Please let us all know what you have learned about Mr. Keatts morals.

If you’re wondering what happened to your post, I deleted it.

Note that it takes me exactly one click to delete a post. Stay on the right side of the line.

Seriously? You allow this thread to stay but delete a post critical of the thread? You could not give the public a worse view of WPN.

I wasn’t thrilled with the hire either but I also knew nothing of Keatts. After doing due diligence I can see the upside. Other than Marshall I don’t know who might have been better on paper.

The interest in a Sendek protégée has always puzzled me. Yes he has done well at Dayton but no more than Keatts at UNC-W which has historically been a graveyard for young coaches outside of Clemson’s current coach. I expect Keatts will do better in the ACC than he has to date.

It’s all in who has the podium. Like the debate over NC Congressional districts – both parties have played that game to the determent of the state as a whole. I also will not defend Pat (or Roy for that matter) – it is all political theater and designed to attain and keep power.

    + 1 … exactly

    More interesting political reading here…

    Andrew Reynolds of the N&O — December 22, 2016

North Carolina is no longer classified as a democracy

I read that “study” a few days back and was confused since NC was equated with Cuba why would that be a bad thing? Didn’t the MSM and world leaders (the globalization gang of them) just give the former Cuba leader a hero’s send off and funeral?

I also don’t recall outage and knashing of teeth in 2004 or 2009 when the state of Massachusetts legislative body first stripped Gov Romney of senatorial appointment power so that he could not select a replacement for Kerry if he won the election and then reinstated the senatorial appointment power for Gov Patrick so he could appoint a replacement for Kennedy upon his death (needed for healthcare reform vote in the Senate). This would certainly be an example of one party controlling the process against the will of people (as they stripped Romney of the power because only the people should decide who is their senator) in an undemocratic fashion.

Not defending what the outgoing NC gov did just wondering why when one side does it is for the good of the people and when other side does it they (and anyone who might have voted for them) are labeled undemocratic, rascist, homophobic and any other slander one (or Seth Davis) can think of.

In my alternate reality there would be no Seth Davis.

LOL — I guess I am easily confused because I cannot figure out if he is a sportswriter or a cheerleader for fake news. Over half his his tweets are political based in one direction or a sports related tweet with a political jab.

Am I the only person who thinks that Seth Davis is a pompous asshat who knows very little about the game of basketball and even less about life in general?

35-0, go to a game. I get it smart asses, just saying it’d be nice to routinely beat teams of this caliber by more than 20 points.

Who’s this whiney ass? Did ‘Alum44 get an intern?

ODU is not top 25, but they are a solid team, solid program. Best team the ‘Pack has faced thus far in 2015. And unless my math is failing me, the Wolfpack did beat a team of that caliber by more than 20 points.

Also look at UW-Troy game in Madison today. The Big10 power at home struggled for a half and did not really pound them into submission.

+ 1000 …. Rye just summarized why the UNC machine went after V with such effort.

It is truly a tragedy we did not get to see him coach for a whole extended career like Coack K. Would have loved the epic Duke / State battles. Plus not sure K would have been as successful with V at State

I saw where Luke “de” Cock at UNC N&O (I meant Charlotte) compared the Shad situation to PJ and how DD should kick him off the team. I must have missed the memo that states team rule violations are equal to felonies and NCAA loss of eligibility. I trust DD as he has earned it. RW … Not so much. He backed PJ right up until he saw NCAA was not going to reinstate him then dropped him. Would hope that parents of recruits would have made that 2+2 connection also.

I will have to laminate this on a card and carry around to hand to Tarheel jackasses I run into:

This scandal was and is ugly. It will forever be a stain on one of our most notable public institutions and college sports overall. It has been called by many, including by my colleagues in The Drake Group, a consortium of faculty, staff, and others who are working toward academic integrity in athletics, the “worst academic fraud scandal in the history of college sports.”

It is such an outstanding university:

UNC’s ‘Literature of 9/11’ course sympathizes with terrorists, paints U.S. as imperialistic

They love to rewrite history as they did with their 1950’s and 1960’s cheating and then again with our DT and Valvano “scandals” which pale in comparison to their current one.

The Pack has yet to win at BC and hasn’t won at Wake Forest in 34 years.

Just copy this and paste it in 2035, because then it’ll be accurate. Clemson basketball will eventually win in Chapel Hill, but you’ll never convince me we’ll ever win again in The Abyss.

    SMH in disbelief.

“All the “TOB find the 2 stars and coaches ‘em up” garbage was just that. Now, maybe he did develop talent better than this year’s staff, and maybe this year’s juniors and seniors were suffering from 2 years under this staff. You could probably argue that either direction.”

    What?
