I’m liking the arrogance from the Villanova players and their fans. Yes, they are a very good basketball team. Yes, they deserve their number one seed.
But when you discount your opponents and you go into a game dripping with overconfidence, you risk that opponent punching you in the mouth and knocking you out.
I hope that’s precisely what happens tonight.
I was also thinking a few minutes ago that our lucky picture helped us win last night, so this thread needs more Canada.

Robert F. Morris should get together with Stephen F. Austin and find three or four other guys to make a whole basketball team.
Some UVA fans are such…nice people.
Emotionally, I wanted a foul, but the refs aren’t going to call that unless it’s an obvious physical altercation.
Louisville escapes. The Cards aren’t looking terribly strong.
The ACC is now 5-0, with several games decided by two points or less.
The good news is that Rick Pitino looks like he’s re-joined the living. The bad news is he touts the desire of ACC players, mentions UNC, Notre Dame and Louisville. I guess we are chopped liver?
Louisville heads to the line for a 1-and-1 tied with 8.9 left. First one good. Second one, Draino. UC Irvine TO, down two.
He had a rough start, but his play improved as the game went on today. Not sure he’ll be the hero of their next game, but should UVA get to the Sweet 16, they’ll definitely have another weapon at the ready. UVA might (big might) be getting ready for a deep run as far as the Elite 8.
Belmont hung with UVA for a long time today. The Hoos are up double digits in the last minute, but the score doesn’t really reflect the quality of the game nor as well as how they played until they ran out of gas.
Regardless who won it was an example of what the tournament should be. Effort, failings and a last second shot for the win. This time it fell the Pack’s way.
And that could well be how it ends on Saturday for us.

I do feel great for Raulston Turner, even if he didn’t have a great game. You know he wanted this one bad.
I agree with Tau and Chop. Many of us (me included at times) need to temper our tempers during game threads.
I tried to stay positive tonight. We hung in there and did what needed doing, and yes, we were lucky. But if any of us think those coaches and players weren’t doing their level best, then they haven’t met many college athletes or coaches.
Kyle Washington carried us when we were on life support. Believe that.
Credit to Coach for giving him the minutes to do his magic. KW has been in the doghouse for a long time, but he sure came out of it biting the Tigers on their tail.
Pack didn’t win it….LSU lost it.
Maybe. But Moral Victories don’t get you to the next game.
And the good news is that we can’t play that poorly in that game…can we? I don’t think so. I think that Turner shakes off that shooter’s slump and that we come out firing against Nova. It may be enough, but I think they’ll know they were in a fight.
