Maybe the NC State bench should pass a Coke around and put a little love in their heart during this timeout. ¯\_(?)_/¯

I think that the trainers need to break out some smelling salts and wake this team up a little. They just don’t look sharp.

I think Vern has reached his “expires by” date. Love him as a golf announcer, but in hoops he may be a little past it.

Get tough at the rim…like that.

The Pack lost that four minute segment by a bucket.

They need to do a better job of finishing at the rim. Hoop or harm, or both. MAKE Louisville defend and initiate contact!!

Just like against Nova, break the half into five four minute segments. Win the segments, win the game.

Washington brings the energy instantly. That will help open the outside and definitely is keeping the Pack in the game.

State’s offensive rhythm is making things easy on Louisville. Need to let get some motion going!

Alright boys. I’m going to brew up a batch of Wolfpack Red — a red ale — and open up the house later this summer. Plus toss a couple pork shoulders into the smoker. Gotta have something to chew on too.

If I didn’t have relatives coming in for two weeks and changing jobs the day after they leave, I’d invite y’all tomorrow. I’m in a pretty good mood over the job change. I’m going from a Fortune 20 company to one with 100 employees. That’s what I call a step up…I won’t be a fungible line item on a churn spreadsheet any more.

We’ve talked about an SFN party for ten years, so it’s time we actually went through with it.

^ That’s absolutely the truth. Pretty much, everyone is a Penn State fan up there. I used to pick on them by asking them why it wasn’t called “Penn Commonwealth” instead of “Penn State.” Never joked about Sandusky or showers though. That would have been suicide.

^ Yeah, they call it “Pennsyltucky” for good reason.

Last time I was in Harrisburg — 4-5 years ago — the locals were discovering country music like it was a new thing. (Seriously) I guess the 70’s called and wanted their knee high Adidas socks and disco music back so they had to find something “new.”

And no, I am not making that up. It really happened.

Good catch on that, Wolfpack93. I edited in the correction. Thanks.

    My back is looking rough.

Quip of the day. Well done, PackerinRussia!

Chop, it’s not terribly expensive to get started making your own beer. If you follow instructions well, you’re first batch will be pretty decent. If the hobby catches on and you upgrade a bit, you can not only make even better beer that competes with any micro, you’ll also be able to do it for less expense than the beginner batches cost. Right now, it costs me ~$15-$25 for five gallons. That “all day” brew you speak of would cost me about $0.35 for a twelve ounce serving.

No worries, ’76. That was a great idea. Truly, I was amused by what that guy wrote. It takes skills to repeatedly insult both teams and the host city of a Sweet 16 in that low a word count.

One of the reasons I got into brewing (aside from saving lots of money) was that American commercial beers like Bud Light give me raging headaches. I think it is one of their additives that hates me or the relatively high levels of fusel (bad) alcohols.

Since pretty much the only thing in my brew is malt, yeast, hops and filtered water, it’s pretty kind. An additional bonus is that the yeast isn’t filtered out, and yeast has a lot of B-complex vitamins, and those are the very thing that stops a hangover before it ever happens.

    Jason,

I wore the same sweatshirt Thursday and Saturday nights, and it’s going on tomorrow afternoon. I also haven’t shaved since then, and won’t until we win. Yeah, superstitions are silly…I’m sure the length of my beard has exactly nothing to do with how State plays in Syracuse, but I ain’t going to chance it.

Spot on, BJD. We really do need to take advantage of this opportunity. That will help establish the program as a serious player, and will help immeasurably with recognition and recruiting…which fuels additional success.

I’ll be happy to see the day when “Cinderella” and “surprising” are not attached to NC State when it does make it to the second weekend. With his .500 batting average of getting the Wolfpack to the S16 so far, we have a real opportunity to do exactly that.

At the same time, I fully realize the opponent will have their say on Friday night too, but if this team comes out swinging and keeps battling until zeros in the second half, I like our chances.

It’s easy to do…they’re both pretty mediocre head coaches.

Thought it was Jeff Capel they were after…Duke Associate Head coach.

Me, I would go after Wiscy’s AHC, Greg Gard. He’s 43 and has 20 years under Bo Ryan.

Dick Vitale is already pimping Sendek:

Someone in the hunt for a quality guy & coach should seriously think of Herb Sendek – has fab character !

It’s true, Herb does have great character. He’s just a mediocre coach…at best…and after a certain point, coaches are hired to win games, not lose them with character.
