Alpha WolfKeymaster
Debbie Yow is looking like a real football genius with this hire.
Question is, does she wait until the end of the year to fire Doeren?
Alpha WolfKeymasterGood thing we scheduled “weak”. We are weaker than weak.
Some of yall wanting us to go to Alabama are nut jobs.
Does it matter who you lose to when you lose?
Alpha WolfKeymasterWhen Ron Cherry calls a game, you get to not only play the opponent, you get to play Ron Cherry too.

Alpha WolfKeymasterQuestion: have we re-hired Noel Mazzone as our Offensive Coordinator?
We sure look like a Noel Mazzone pass offense today.
Alpha WolfKeymasterWe’ve pretty much settled it, today at least, Brissett is not the second coming of Rivers or Wilson.
Alpha WolfKeymasterBrissett really forced that ball and it cost him…but the D is stepping in and picking him up.
Alpha WolfKeymaster“The ball was almost interception.” The ever well-spoken Tim Brandt.
Alpha WolfKeymaster^ You might still get your money. It’s hot, this is a small defense and we have shown we can move the ball. Brissett just needs to come up to game speed with his throws and we’ll score a lot of points against these guys.
Alpha WolfKeymasterI wish I could stop a golf ball on a green the way that GSU kicker spun that punt backwards.
Alpha WolfKeymasterMore missed tackles. This defense is not improved.
Alpha WolfKeymasterAnd Tim Brandt is still a f***ing idiot.
Alpha WolfKeymasterWow, what horrible defense.
Alpha WolfKeymasterAnd here’s hoping that UNC and/or Duke don’t swoop in and steal him at the last minute.
Alpha WolfKeymasterAwesome that we’ll have an interesting OOC schedule this season. Hopefully without Buckets we’ll be able to win a few of them, and I think that we will.
Alpha WolfKeymasterAnything John Swofford says makes me immediately suspicious of its veracity.
05/01/2014 at 6:37 AM in reply to: Troy added to NC State Football Schedule + more on scheduling #51600Alpha WolfKeymasterDebbie Yow and Dave Doeren should be embarrassed.
Speaking of Doeren an area football coach told me this week that his ceiling was “about the same as Herb Sendek’s.” Strong words from a State grad.
Alpha WolfKeymasterInteresting:
SEC Adopts Strength of Schedule Requirement Starting in 2016From a radical-change standpoint, as a means of becoming more viable for College Football Playoff consideration, the SEC has adopted an unprecedented strength-of-schedule component, mandating that, starting in 2016, all 14 teams must schedule at least one power-conference program per season.
Alpha WolfKeymasterAlpha WolfKeymasterPersonally, I think that the nine game deal would be easily remedied: you get 4/5 home and away one year and 5/4 the next. The brain trust over in Greensboro should be able to figure that out without any help.
I am cynical of the SEC deal because I think that television (ESPN) would ultimately end up controlling the matchups and locations of the games. That would more than likely not be good for NC State or its fans.
04/15/2014 at 10:58 PM in reply to: Gottfried’s Wolfpack will have work cut out for them next year #51180Alpha WolfKeymasterVirginia is going to be pretty good too, so include them in the UNC/Duke category. With 7th year starter Joe Harris (seems like he’s been there forever) as well as Brogden and the rest returning, they’re a legit top 10 team.
Syracuse will need to replace 64% of their scoring. They will be good, but they won’t be world beaters. They’ll have Cooney, Christmas and DaJuan Coleman (maybe) so they cannot be taken for granted but they won’t be someone to totally fear.
Montrezl Harrell is returning to Louisville, and he is a load. With Chris Jones and Wayne Blackshear serving as a solid core, they also have four Top 100 recruits coming in. Better get the Cards early and at home.So yeah, the ACC will be tough. Beating UNC/Duke/UVA and/or Louisville will be a load. The difference for the year, however, will be in beating Miami, FSU, GT, BC, Clemson and Wake Forest. Short of more than one conference WTF loss, we should be okay…probably not enough to get a 1st round ACCT bye, but good enough to grab a win or two and then head on the NCAAT proper and not back to Dayton.
04/15/2014 at 12:33 AM in reply to: Gottfried’s Wolfpack will have work cut out for them next year #51146Alpha WolfKeymasterI would wait until the conference schedule comes out before writing us off.
As it stands now, I like the potential of this team — last year’s freshmen will have more experience, they’ll be one year stronger and they’ll also know what they are up against.
We have good talent coming in as freshmen and we have some depth coming in the guard position that will give us two good options at point and wing.
Nope, this is not a legitimate ACC regular season champion caliber team, but it will be one that’s very competitive and barring injuries, should make the tournament.
As for Lunardi, he gave us zero chance of making the tournament last year, and while it was by the hair on our chins, we did get in.
We’ll see, but I am not going to spend the summer moaning about a glass half empty.
Alpha WolfKeymasteryou email Gott or Yow asking if it’s appropriate and get approval.
Thank God the PC police have arrived.
Alpha WolfKeymasterKing Hippo would be the most hurtful to me.
King Hippo was a fighter in Mike Tyson’s “Punch Out” game. He was 18-9 with 18 knockouts and was a minor circuit champion. There’s not really anything racial about it, no more than “Glass Joe” or “Piston Honda.”
It was always funny when King Hippo said “I feel like eating after I win. Let’s go to lunch! Ha, ha, ha!”
Alpha WolfKeymasterI think he also deserves blame/credit for developing those players, and year two with Le Nard/KH/KW/Cat will be crucial in determining whether he can back up recruiting wins with game wins.
See: Buckets, Tony.
Alpha WolfKeymasterI’d hate to see Coach Lutz leave NC State, but if he has a chance to take over another program, I have nothing but best wishes for him and his future.
State is an attractive place for an assistant to come, and we may have one sitting at the ready: Julius Hodge. Hodge wants a job on the NC State bench and I think he would do a good job there. His example of hard work and dedication to fundamentals make him one of the best players we have had in Raleigh in the past 25 years and I would love it if he’d get it in the kids’ heads to practice their defensive footwork and free throws in their spare time.
