I feel for those Duke kids, who are 5-1 and have a really good chance of winning their division: Wallace Wade is mostly empty tonight. The players deserve better. Coach Cutcliffe deserves better.
I just wasn’t sure before today how good we were or what to expect. But I am encouraged.
There are good signs out there…I just hope they aren’t fools gold like the close call against FSU was this year.
The bigger encouraging sign would be a workmanlike win against BC next week.
Did I say announcers are knuckle heads? It’s worse. They are totally incompetent.
I think the new trend in announcing is to constantly insult one of the two fanbases watching.
We’re used to it with the sports radio jackholes around here.
I hate that Matt Canada has coached Brissett into staying in the pocket too long. He was a better QB when he was mobile (last year.)
Go for one point instead of trying to make it a two score game. Keep trying onside kicks so one of the best offenses in the country has the ball in our territory. Nice.
Without our starting RB, we don’t have a lot of options against a compressed Clemson D when going for 2.
As for the onside kicks, what else can you do down three TD’s in the fourth quarter? Kick it and let them run off the clock or take your chances with your defense?
And it’s not like anyone harbors any illusion there is any plausible path to victory here.
I guess the good news is that at least we did not embarrass ourselves.
The bad news is the injuries to Tocho and Dayes with a winnable BC game coming up. We need that W.
Today shows just how far our program has to go: under Doeren, NC State has not beaten a P5 team with a winning record, much less a ranked team.
Refs being obvious with the bullshit now. Even with it in the bag.
I have a lot of doubts about the legitimacy of the competition in the ACC. You just know that ACC wants Clemson in the playoffs.

I think Notre Dame won’t be anywhere near the same team without Jerian Grant, and Miami and FSU and 5 and 6 is really optimistic as well.
Move Louisville and State up a couple of spots and you’re probably closer to what the standings will look like in March.
There aren’t any pictures in the standings, and we won a game we all thought we had a very good chance to lose.
The road only gets tougher from here, so hopefully the team can learn some lessons in victory and apply them the rest of the way.
Don’t get me wrong though, Canada has me scratching my head at times too. But I give him the benefit of the doubt in the short term, and usually, once the sequencing plays out, the logic is there.
I can agree with that. There are things about Canada that have left me scratching my head too. I’ll have to see what he can do developing a freshman QB before I completely make my mind up.
Win or no win, I dread what Clemson will do to this team. It will take a 100% perfect effort to make the game even respectable.
