Not to dominate this….but I often “read” to wake up my brain in the AM. An old habit from when I was working….

The past few days have been an interesting study in “Social Media Politics”. I was at the Ga Southern game in the PNC last night and saw our fans honor a Cancer Survivor that has numerous “hostile duty tours”. I was never more proud of NCSU and the patriotism of our fans (adopted and/or alumni).

We have set up “grief counseling” sessions on Campus. WRAL’s 11:00 news had more “Breaking News” (ironically, BoB Violence), but also had videos of the “Trump” repudiation on the NCSU Campus. That bothers me and I have expressed concerns with Dr. Woodson, the NCSU BOT and also Mrs. Spellings.
I kidded my liberal son that it would FAR safer, on Friday, for a Duke supporter to be on the Chapel Hill campus than a Trump supporter….and the odds of the Trump supporter’s car being vandalized were about 50 times as great as a car with a Duke sticker.
I also appreciate the comments from many others, especially Yogi….
I will share one little conversation that, to me, was quite insightful. I rent a storage space from a local company. He has a large complex of units as well as auto, RV, boat, etc. spaces. I keep my motor home there. He is an ardent NCSU supporter. Old school….has grown the business into a very thriving operation. He has land holdings that Trump would be envious of.
The owner is a very passionate NCSU supporter…..Red PU and all. He is down to earth and plain spoken. I don’t think he has a formal degree, other than HS. He still drives a tractor and does a lot of the on site maintenance.
He told me that he owned a “little grill” and that its customers were basically “rural Wake County”. He has had it for many years. The mood and tone of this election was totally different from any that he had ever seen. Politics was rarely discussed. More “joe six pack” topics as HS sports, professional sports, college sports and such….
This year, the mood was different and it started about 18 months or so ago. He did not say WHAT event or comments triggered it, but many of his patrons had never (some in their late 50’s) bothered to register and vote. Over the course of time, they were aware of the “machine” that was barnstorming NC and also started to “listen up” to both sides. As a result, they, the patrons became more aware and also more supportive of Trump.
These are folks that work for a living. They have coworkers that are of all races or ethnicity. They saw the organization or the “brain washing” first hand. Political rallies on Sunday Morning at churches…..comments from Hispanic workers on how they, not citizens, COULD vote without any fear or deportation or repercussions…..the whole gambit.
SO, without a “community organizer” to GUIDE THEM, they listened to the “Your VOTE matters” theme….and did just that….
I may have stated here that I do my own personal “poll” while driving and we often visit many states on our annual motor home trip….I also watch the bumper stickers on cars in traffic….
Our neighborhood had a NC Council of State member. He passed away. But, before his death and after, his widow would host several fund raisers. Each election cycle (not just presidential), there would be signs supporting the national, state and local candidates. TRUMP and ROMNEY were NOT in that layout. This year, NOTHING….NADA a fund raiser or a sign. In 2008, we had a much heavier mix of Obama (but we had MORE Clinton until she lost in the primary) signs in the neighborhood than McCain. In 2012, it was still more Obama, but some who went “All OUT” in 2008, were NOT as blatant.
This year, NARY an HRC….several local Democratic candidates were being touted. We have a few Trump….but they were close to the house. The same thing was true in my “traffic” polls…..and also driving around Raleigh. Deborah Ross is going to have to do a LOT of cleanup as SHE outpaced everyone.
One person on election night decried the pending “doom” as a WHITE LASH. Funny, when a bloc of voters is told HOW to vote….that is their RIGHT to express solidarity (Females, Hispanics, Afro-Americans, LBGTQ, etc.). No ONE (Ok, maybe David Duke did it) TOLD the White Voters to “VOTE TRUMP”. But, in this Pundit’s narrow view, it was an affront for the electorate to “back” or vote for one Candidate….despite the lack of evidence of any one every telling a certain “race, creed, color or sexual orientation” to VOTE FOR TRUMP. Now WHO is the REAL person whose label ends in “IST”
Also, back on point, my discussion with the storage owner wandered around to “Basket of Deplorables” and “tired of paying taxes for federal and state subsidies for folks that WILL NOT WORK”….
Yogi will have to expound here….but it seems to me that the American Taxpayer voted in Trump. They realized, after 8 years of LACK OF ECONOMIC GROWTH and countless other policies that promoted an “agenda” aimed at so many targets and also figuring out that MORE FOLKS are Retiring or leaving the Work Force and Fewer Folks are Employed (or willing to be Employed)…
The future of their families and the “Fed UP” issues caused them to go out and register their opinions.
NOW, the PAC’s are backing the protesters…..YES, most of the folks are probably the same ones that will respond to a Pavlovian “we gonna protest” social media campaign. What is interesting, if I read the articles correctly, is that the “organizers” of such have a political agenda…and were the MAIN supporters of HRC.

Snowflakes out protesting last night. They were exercising 1st amendment Rights to B&M about losing to HRC who would follow BHO policy of suppressing “the OTHER sides” opinions because they were a basket of Deplorables classified into hate groups with various “ist” ending’s
BHO GOTT a quandary. Trump’s WH visit today does not even need a sidebar about WJC & HRC & CF. Trump’s supporters expect a thorough DOJ & FBI & IRS investigation….. presumably by Mr. Mayor.
So BHC GOTT to dust off Nixon pardon & do a word replace. The Clintons ( modern day Beverly Hillbillies) will keep their billions. BHC can not pardon all the “Doer’s”. Some already have limited protection… but the deal is off if the fibbed.

Channeling Bernie Sanders these days? KNOW you tend to float things that are radical….and some of them might have merit….but the financial side of it is fixed. Reminds me of the old adage, Sell Dimes for a Nickel and make it up on the Volume.
As to the rest of the points…I don’t disagree with most of the plan….save that I don’t have enough info to comment on Coach Kitch…
The Courts and the NCAA took care of WHY we spend most of the “Profit” from the Revenue Sports, the tradmarks, Radio/TV, etc…..We have a small “profit” from year to year and it is, I think, banked as a reserve. BUT, it is nowhere near what Doeren’s buyout is…
NOW, don’t know your business acumen, but please contact AD Yow and help her accomplish the financial miracle of “Cutting Ticket Prices”. Have you pulled down a copy (50 pages) of the NCAA filing that we do each year that “analyzes” our budget and has all the “checks in the boxes” to ensure “Compliance”? That might be interesting reading for you.
The folks that buy the tickets and make the donations are not prone to take a “Dabo” shot….but IF that were a “Help me….I’ve Fallen” quick fix, then they MIGHT go along with it.
CD will have to give us the “mood and tone” of the mega backers that would have to “bail us out” of the Buyout. Again, I don’t know if they will put up $2.5 Million for a “Lets Try Coach Kitch” approach. Can you help fund that to lighten their load?
Most of the ones that are being “solicited” to fund the $2.5 Million donation are also of the “we need to be competitive and are in favor of the $3 – $3.5 Million Floor or HC’s salary. e.g., you will see a $5 or so increase in the ticket price and a 15 – 20% increase in concession prices. The ticket price funds the new coach. The concessions funds the Assistant Bumps…
I’m a little less than at peak this morning. I stayed up until 4:30 and celebrated. Yesterday, I cast my ballot in a very heavy Deplorables Precinct, which predictably, had a LOT of folks in Wolf Pack Clothing. I wanted something RED….if you get my drift. I threw on my Jimmy V jersey….with the “Don’t EVER Give Up” logo on the back. Still have it on. Little did I fully understand how prophetic it would be….
As to our FB program….we may already be at the “alea iacta est” point. Only the folks that are being solicited for the big bucks know that….not I.

Reynolds rate is apparently classified as “C” and it was not in Huma or Anthony’s Laptop. I have NO idea. BUT, Trump probably paid $2,400 for Dorton. That comes from the NC State Fairgrounds website. Technically, it is $2400 or 10% the GROSS….whichever is greater….

Not given up on anything…..Seahawks, NCSU, the good candidates, etc. You misunderstood my post.The ticket prices WILL go up if we spend 50+% more for a new coach. That, like certain other consequences of the election, is a fact.
My point was that so many folks say that they don’t come to NCSU events anymore because (Fill In The Blank) and they do NOT spend their hard earned (which will probably be less in years to come) $$ for such or support the WPC or the University….
I stopped my Alumni giving over incompetence. Have been courted for years, but nary a $$ to them. I, too, can hold a grudge with the best of them.
The folks with LTR’s are not going to let their donations go down the toilet. There are folks that also still purchase Season Tickets because they enjoy the TG. I know folks that will usually pay face for tickets, no matter how ugly it will get because they have friends that always TG and can hang out with them. I had, due to business and personal conflicts, three extra in our block on Saturday. Took one text to such a fan. He and his GF and a major Bud were there, but he rode in with some other friends and did the “half time run”. He stayed in the seats and they cheered.
My point, pure and simple….if the WPN wants to get the attention of Dr. Woodson or others, then it will NOT be done by folks quitting purchasing their tickets. There are a LOT of LTR holders that bought more than they needed….for friends….and the friends have been tailgating with them for at least 10 years. I know of many of these. These friends are NOT WPC members….but they pay for the tickets and the Saturday TG is part of their fall social season.
BUT, if a portion (or all in an ideal world) of those did not USE their tickets and the stadium was only half filled (like UNC is sometimes), then at least a small shot over the bow would have been made.
There are a LOT of UNC fans that no longer belong to the Rams Club and no longer purchase FB tickets and will, on occasion, do the HDTV experience for the UNC games. They were fans that never missed a game. BUT, they were also fans that could purchase LTR’s or whatever. When the UNC BOT Bob Winston and his cronies redid Kenan and upped the prices and also shuffled folks around and virtually demanded that you MUST purchase an LTR to get your NORMAL tickets, THAT, coupled with the Butch, Marvin, Black Santa, Dickie Weejuns, Thorp, ad nausem events totally turned them off. They still follow, to a certain extent, BB….but FB, even with a good record, has not brought them back.
I personally do NOT know what portion of the seats are LTR’s, but if the seat backs are any indication, then it has to be a bunch….so folks are NOT going to abandon their past expenditures….BUT, if they were sitting in the PL and watching HDTV and TG and NOT in their seats (that is also, FYI, done now), then MAYBE that would influence some folks.
With all the social media influence on the young, who knows…..It is OK to tear down a candidate’s banners and curse the minority of students that dare oppose someone endorsed by JZ and Beyonce and Lady Gag Gag…..so there are those that are quite capable of being equally brainwashed about football….
As to your photo of the day, obviously you have not attended some of the rock concerts at CF…or were not there when a seemingly sober coed did the “Dancing for Diamonds” Fan Cam Dance and had an equipment malfunction….

Many of your comments need to be sent to Dr. Yow. The opposing band’s position is typically in the corner. They USED to be in the opposite side of the horseshoe (on the Murphy side or south). I even recall a Rent-A-Band for someone….it MIGHT have been FSU….they got NCCU I believe and they wore jeans and special T-Shirts and did the Chant Thing. The FSU Band Director was there to lead them. FSU brought in the band via Bus….about 5 whites and a fully decorated FSU lead dog…

Per GOTT on the post game, Dorn had a cramp. They treated it on the sidelines, which I observed, and he was walking around and seemed mobile within 10 minutes or so after getting treatment. He was in all the TO huddles.
GOTT said that he did not want to exacerbate a minor injury by putting stress on it (Dorn) and they decided that he needed to sit out the rest of the game. His numbers were great while he was in. Hope he does not fall into the CJ syndrome….need to hydrate…

Since you do not regularly attend the CF games….there are a couple of things that you can usually count on. During a Lull or to fill in….
Band plays Hey Baby. I have NEVER figured out what is the attraction for that oldie….but I see a broad cross section of the fans (as well as in my block) singing and swaying. NOTE, my block does NOT go out at the half or smuggle in mini bottles….they do it STONE sober.
JumboTron plays Wagon Wheel by the Old Crow Medicine Show. Many TIMES, we really DO need a shot (or maybe several) of Old Crow (I prefer Crown Black) to get us through the lack of dominance on the field. BUT, the crowd will sing and sway and show their loyalty….
The FSU band, also for your edification, violated the “unwritten” policy. It is a LONG standing tradition, honored by more than 90% of the bands to “share” the breaks. If you play during a TO, then if the OTHER band is there, they get the NEXT TO.
The FSU band really does NOT play music. They played maybe ONE or TWO songs the entire game. I could not identify the tune or pickup the beat of a “march”. It was somewhat cacahpnic….without substance and depth. NOW, they are masters or perhaps a “Johnny One-Note” at their taunting. They play the dreaded….”Da, DAH, De, Da Ta DAH”. They have several versions in different keys – most are major, but usually followed by a contermelody in a minor key. They did that for all 3 downs for all the series and repeated it….trouble was….or perhaps more fortunately, they DID get discouraged by the number of 3 and OUT series….so we were blessed with some respite and silence.
Was it LOUD…..yes….did it remind me of some of today’s toddlers that are “placated” from birth and think it is their God Given RIGHT to throw a tantrum in Church or Target or a Restaurant and then are really IRRITATED when their parents (or GP’s) continue their conversation and ignore them. They then up the volume by at least 10 dB….and cycle is repeated. The parents sit there and say nothing or do nothing….as they are “zoned out” on their phones and their all important texts or porn or whatever….acknowledging it would merely empower the kid MORE.
Therefore, I liken the FSU band to a spoiled brat….and they merely are “asking for attention”….
I DO agree that the crowd was a little “less enthusiastic” than usual. Maybe it was all the fans that bought tickets and never attended in a while. They might have been much quieter. However, the enthusiastic and repeat fans near us were in full voice. We were fortunate that we did not have a drunken FSU fan defaming anything RED or WHITE as that is usually the case when the tickets are sold “because I want to MAKE a Statement”
IF we, the mighty WPN wanted to make a REAL statement, we would come to the game, TG like it was 1999 and THEN NOT GO IN. BUT, the fans that complain will sell their tickets for a bottle of MD20 to recover some investment…..
IF the tickets were NEVER used (sold, given away, auctioned, etc). then the seats would be EMPTY and that MIGHT get someone’s attention.
Maybe someone that is a techie should start a Twitter or a Snap or a Pop or a FB or whatever social media movement and we, the WPN stage a SIT IN….as we will SIT IN THE PARKING LOT and NO ONE will have out tickets..and we will NOT SIT IN CF.

Back to reality….first….CD has heard things. My “inside” sources…which are NOT located on Trinity, but are more “local” say the following.
Woodson will have to make the call. It will NOT happen otherwise. That will probably involve TWO buyouts….
There is no FORMAL mechanism to raise a special Kitty for EITHER…but there has been discussion about “How we COULD do that” and also not violate the WPC charter and also keep the AD Budget’s “stated purpose” intact. It will be tricky…but hey, UNC gets tricky and we are just as smart. It WILL have to have some of CD’s “Line up Photos” in it….plus a few more. Has this been set in motion? THAT is not known, but it has been discussed….at length and the discussions, as the L’s increase, it seems to be getting momentum…..NOW THAT IS JUST TG TALK…..but the info that I have heard at such before USUALLY has some validity….
The $3 per ticket per game for 3 years Doeren Buyout would NOT be needed then…..but, the AD Budget WOULD have to fund the increases for a NEW coach. The TG comments, interesting, did have a SOLID FLOOR number. That was the same as mine….probably $3.5 KK….which is a bit over 50% that Doeren makes….so there WILL be an increase in the ticket cost….probably $5 or so. The “Special Entity” COULD (speculating wildly) include provisions for buying out some Super Star….but that would be a ONE TIME DEAL. So the cost of buying our “High Maintenance Coach” (like the Proverbial Trophy Partner, will be OUR’s and OUR’s ALONE….so the ducat WILL go up.
There will also be an ADDED item (like building a house…). We need to BUMP UP the Assistant Coaches. That is slated at $500 – $750K. Funding for that COULD come from kicking up the Tickets…but 15 – 20% on Concessions is also an alternative…
NOW…this was talk after ONE beer….and BEFORE we did not beat FSU.
There were a LOT of “deficiencies” discussed….most here…and some were “Wow, that is interesting….” Suffice it to say, we the LTR owners and also the “HD” of the “Ain’t ever coming back” observers are NOT the only ones frustrated and talking….but CD’s Rogue’s Gallery will have to be convinced and then “come around”….which means that a NEW AD will have to be focused on that.
BUT….and this is a BIG BUT (not BUTT), the strides and the credibility and the esteem that AD Yow has brought to NCSU are NOT, under any circumstances, going to be compromised or cast aside. She raised our program from the Nuclear SELF MADE Explosion of the UNC BOG, the NCSU BOT, the NCSU Faculty Senate and Dr. Monteith. The OPINION of folks that lived through it (a lot of us did and were close to it) is that we would have been a LOT better off had the NCAA given us the Death Penalty…
Todd Turner KILLED US. Les tried to right the ship and Fowler (OK….need I say more) was more inept than the Titanic Captain….or Captain Schettino of Costa Concordia fame for the youngsters. We are NOT going to go WIN in FB and BB at all costs. Our improvements (Academic, Facility, Diversity or Title IX, etc.) WILL carry a lot of weight and that will be JUST AS IMPORTANT….but FB and (dare I say it…BB) will receive a much needed priority.
So much for my Monday Rant….sell today….the Clinton Rally or Fix is in. Wonder why the Stock Market Rallies when a candidate that is “For the Children and the Common Man” explodes? Maybe the “Insiders and Big EVIL Wall $treet Boy$ have paid “their dues” and what we hear on the stump will NOT be what happens in the Oval Office?

Obviously, CD, you are privy to more info that we are. WM and RV would could probably set up a “separate” entity to raise funds for both a Buy Out and also to “kick up” the salary. They, and the others whose names grace our new athletic structures all over campus and the CF “West” campus have considerable sheckles. They probably are more cash flush as folks have been hoarding cash in anticipation of a market meltdown….so, whats a few million…..All it would need is a good “Mark Roberts” type of Deal Maker….got any leads on that….
WM is on BOT as well as another Porker/Fowler. Kick in AG’s seat and JG’s Empire, which is based on research that he did at NCSU and NCSU said….”You can have the code, Jim….we don’t really see any value in it….but it was interesting….”
Is THAT what you are hinting at. These individuals obviously carry a lot of weight and have RW’s cellphone and when they say, “Randy, lets do lunch….”, he will BE THERE…
Don’t tease us… I heard a lot of “B&M” at a TG Saturday that indicated the higher ups in several WPC Chapters are NOT happy and want a CHANGE….but doubt that it will happen until a higher level change is made…
I guess we will wait and see how the season plays out. Maybe the Performance Review will conducted a few levels up?

Word Press SUCKS. It posted and then ATE my comment. I guess that tomorrow, I will have to condense them a bit. I learned a LOT from talking to folks that are closer to the situation than I will ever be.
We lost a tough game. If you think that we should fire Coach D, then you also need to think that we strip all the Schollies from the D and the O and the Special Teams. We made a heck of a lot of improvements….not quite as much as we needed, but we were respectable.
We SHOULD be 6 & 3….and maybe ONE of those you can blame on the coaches. BUT, tonight our 2.5 Star talent did a pretty good job of containing or controlling their 4.5 Star counterparts. WufPacker, agrees, except I think you can only blame ONE on Coach Doeren….but MY opinion is NOT what will drive any change.
There will be NO change….unless there is a Ground Swell….and there will have to be “special” arrangements made. IF Coach D is relieved of duty without a “newly formed” Buyout Entity, then we will pay $3 per ticket MORE for 3 years. We will also pay an additional $4 per ticket to get the base up to the “insiders” competitive level….which is 50% MORE that what we are paying Coach Doeren. Concessions will go up 15 = 20% to fund raises for the Assistants….as well.
Unless there is a ground swell from the “troops”, the only way that Coach D will leave is if DY leaves…and she has some solid support as well as her last name. Write Dr. Woodson with helpful suggestions.
Don’t know about our boat. But the Navy battleships & aircraft carriers took out the Fighting Irish.

However, I watched the ND team stand behind the Navy team and some put their hands over their hearts during the singing of the Navy Alma Mater. THAT IS CLASS.

WOW….I use Firefox occassionally and tried that also. I tested it again. Running Win 10. If I click on the Printer Friendly Link, I get the cover page that is showing. I also tried the SHARE links….NADA.I then opened up Firefox. there is NO Share Link. Printer Friendly does the same.
I tried the Visit the URL. That opened it in ISSU and it was a LOT easier to read. Then DOWNLOAD at the bottom. OPPS….see you on he OTHER side….as in “you need an account to download”.
If I did NOT have the Adobe Acrobat (PDF Creator….NOT the free reader), I wonder what I would find….
Tried Wife’s W10 PC with NO Adobe. Selected the Save as PDF. Got 1 page from the Printer Friendly and 2 – 4 pages from the “share” and Print link.
NOT the 142 pages that is in the guide….but I was using Google Chrome…
Tried IE on her machine….same results….
