    CD,

I would have thought you would have quipped….

“Y yo, Gringo, estaré con el coño caliente”…

However, if it was yesterday, it might have been….

“Y yo, Gringo, estaré con los coños bulliciosos y mudo”

Ain’t being bilingual wonderful….traveled to Mexico and Brazil about 25 times during my tenure and never learned but a few words…..and now Google makes it simple.

At least Wes & the Ladies pulled off a win. Touch & Go until Q4. Then it was over.

Could not hit broad side (is that PC OK?) of cattle abode. …

    But it is a W.

    Some joy in Pack land.

A D Yow NOT in attendance.

    BOTB,

First, Duke just anhilated Miami. Technically, it was the comeback of the year. Duke outscored the U by 23 in the second half. Capel took charge. Monday may be ugly!

Second, the fires in the burn off wells or gas vents are on the surface. If the methane can not be captured, it is dangerous. You get hydrogen sulfide gas from the combustion. You also run the risk of damaging the liner and the leachate can get into groundwater.

So, you vent off the gas and burn it to prevent a subsurface fire.

Wake county put in a collection system for the one off Poole Road. A local firm uses it in their process….Or did. A dumpster fire can be put out. A landfill or a peat moss fire….Not so easy. You measure progress by the week

Comments after calming down and getting home in the rain from the game.

Crowd was pretty good. Better than any home game this year. Most WERE NCSU fans. hardly saw one WFU gold/black in the Champions Club. No real WFU chatter or cat calls from the stands. The Press side was still sparse, but most other sections were pretty full. That was good to see.

The calls, hard to critique from the second level, were biased during the first half. Maybe 8 or so to go in the first half. We were at 9 or 10 and WFU was around 3. OUCH. Probably lucky (not LUCKEY) to be down only 1 at the half. TO’s were killing us.

Second half, we had some spunk. Now remember (CRS?), we were up maybe 9 at one point. We are drifting down. At the 8 to go, the fouls are WFU 9 and NCSU 3. SO, the playing field has been leveled. GOTT is working one official. He gave up on Luckey….

THEN, the carnage began. Seems like the NCSU guys can’t cross midcourt without committing an offense. And THEN, WFU starts on a FT clinic. They shot 88% from the line. They got 13 MORE points from the FT line. Need I say more.

However, the DEFENSIVE Prowess was not on the floor. DJS looks like a “Spooked” PG. When he is double teamed, he can NOT locate the open man. There is always ONE when 2 are on him. He is NOT the salvation….more of a “I can CARRY YOU CJL (suffers from CJLS). We just had no consistency….shots not falling….however, we did improve on our TO’s….if that is any solace?

LUTZ is the problem. No one told Gott that Lutz was the sole proprietor of our Defense. Sort of like Patty McCrory NOT suppling ORC with the passwords for the NCS Gubbermint Social Media accounts. My GOD….Patty should be gang assaulted by Rosie and Madonna and Cher and Jane Fonda and HRC. That would show him. He would be a great sacrifice for the Women FOR My SEXuAL OPPS CAN BE CORRECTED. I am NOT totally pro-life….there has to be a compromise….but folks seem more addicted to it than crack….

Back on point. Coach Gottfried seems totally lost. Every once and a while, one of the assistants will jump us and shout instructions.

For those of you that never watched the games last year, Bobby Lutz would Call out the play that the Opposition was running as they inbounded the ball. He could tell by the position of the receiver and the next guy WHAT they were going to run. One coach, off the record, said that Lutz was better at calling his Offense than he was.

THAT is what we cut loose. Coach Gottfried has lost focus….or maybe he is focused on what awaits him at home. Maybe, he no longer “hunts” and that had dimmed his competitive spirit.

    I am very disgusted…..WOW, what a confession….

We will probably (NOT….this is NCSU) go over and whip the Dookies rear….doubt it….it will be a signature (highest Duke score in Cameron and lowest opponent point total also). Capel will be heralded as a genius…

The season is NOT going well….

NOPE….we are going to hobnob with the Sore Losers crowd on Friday night. Star Wars with the Symphony. May see if the NC or WC GOP has some special TRUMPER outfits. Thinking of a WHITE Storm Trooper output with a President (not elect) Seal and picture on the back and an NCSU Tuffy (in moderated tatters) on the front.

Actually thinking of a choregraphed number where a Trump and Pence and Kellyanne look alikes march triumphantly in the the Symphony Hall with the final (SW IV) finale music. Have a friend that worked for John William many eons ago. He could assist in getting him on Trumped UP One for the flight down. Problem is, my friend is still in mourning that HRC lost NC and is beginning to see that ORC (Old Roy Cooper) is looking MORE and MORE about the soon-to-be EX RESIDENT of 1600 PA Avenue.

I hate doing posts from the Droid. I accidentally, during the Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind event last night, put a CHECK in the Notify Me and my inbox is filling up faster than the Sore Losers List of House Members in CNN’s Green Room. EVERYBODY GOTT to get into the act. There is NO confirmation yet on how much George Soros is contributing to each of their campaigns.

However, the $2500 Retainer and the $50 per Hour (DOUBLE if you get arrested) Job Offers for Disrupting the Trump Events in DC have shown that the Trump Economy WILL BE STRONG. Problem is….these folks will have to report the income and that will impact their Free Feces Stuff that the outgoing leader promised them.

Outta here….play nice and stay dry and enjoy….

Attitude was the difference tonight. I do NOT know if they were coached any better, but they wanted to win. The whole team had a “Team Spirit” attitude and it showed. Abu’s early foul trouble hurt.

We have not had that attitude this season. HOPE it lasts. There was also MORE teamwork. ONE could speculate that since DJS was NOT hitting, he distributed the ball. Maverick looked great tonight….Markell Johnson is the spark plug we needed.

Yurtseven had some early “loose fingers” moments. He would lose a good rebound. He seemed to get in his rhythm as the game moved along.

Henderson was on fire….and we needed it. I think that our final 5 on the floor accounted for all but 6 points of the game. Abu had 4….

One thing is interesting….we have enough folks in the TO Huddles for a Baseball Game (intrasquad) and we still have a couple of designated hitters left over. We have MORE folks in Suits than players in uniform. Really interesting to observe.

Crowd was REALLY small. Now understand, the paid attendance was probably pretty good. The “bowl”, on the Scorer/team side was probably 75% full. Sidelines were about 50%. The opposite side of the bowl (press row) was close to 40%. Club seats were open and very few on the 3rd level. YES, it was a little damp. But it seems that all the businesses that owns the seats in the bowls are having difficulty in “giving them away”. THAT is depressing.

BUT, the crowd did get into it and they were noisy. Officiating sucked as usual.

    Two quick observations

Less than 10K here. Maybe 8K.

Team is showing more spirit than any other home game. Held a mini meeting and pep rally right before start.

Entire bench jumps up on every other play. Anya is head cheerleader. Reminds me of how Mikey and Roy’s teams react.

Hope it works. Lot of negative karma before game.

OK….he is probably doing better than we are. BUT, we do have ONE Ranked Conf win….wonder how VT feels about that.

Dumpster fire may be a kind term…..ever see a peat moss fire….?

I STILL think that DY will NOT pull the pin on him. TWO reasons. First, she would THEN have to make a hire and that hire would put any NEW AD at a disadvantage…unless it was the PERFECT hire….and HOW OFTEN….does that happen?

Second, IF she puts him on notice, then, in reality, she is saying that she WILL be willing to step down in 2019. She would HAVE to step out early. That would allow a NEW AD to take the reins and hire his OWN coach. How likely is THAT to happen? Who know, Spurrier left….and so did Bobby Knight. Nick Saban left the reporters OUTSIDE waiting for his presser….and he was winging his way to Tuscaloosa or the HOME of the TIDE. I remember that we were at a TS at the OBX and watched the reporters outside the Dolphins Stadium being “stood up”. That was on January 3, 2007. Stranger things HAVE happened….but usually NOT (OK, maybe they do) at NCSU.

As BOTB opined….watch this drama. It AIN’T gonna be about BB….it is about the drama of the team, the coaches, the AD, WPC head Purcell, Dr. Woodson….and of course, last but NOT least….the rambunctious SFN posters.

I will NOT make a prediction on this season….other than to say if it REALLY gets bad, then She MIGHT fire Coach G. BUT highly unlikely and his “past” issues have not brought about the “clauses”.

However, AS I type this, I just watched a SC film clip….It seems that the Cubs’ WSC will bring about HOPE and CHANGE for Chicago….since he chose MLK day to honor them. I guess that will solve the crime and murder rate. I had NO IDEA how important the Cubs’ win was….and how much WORSE the murder rate cold have been. Seems to me that it has NOT improved in the last quarter….but it WILL, once the season starts….#44 (not our DT) will protect the citizens….

    Good NIGHT….

I guess when other people seem to espouse or think like you, you feel better….or vindicated. The number of posts says it all. In fairness, it was a TV game and a Home game. That does, from time to time, impact the number.

DSJ looks like he suffers from CJLS (C. J. Leslie Syndrome). He either feels the need to take over when things look bad or he only has confidence in HIS talent or he does NOT know how to DISTRIBUTE and LEAD or he thinks there are multiple Pro Scouts at every game. NOT GOOD.

It is hard to get facials from the Champions Club. Sitting in the bowl or watching a TV game where the camera guys are allowed to shoot the bench is the only way. Can NOT comment on the lack of cohesiveness or chemistry….but it would not surprise me.

Gottfried says the guys WILL play D or be pulled. Excuse me….are YOU going to teach them Defense. You are, by your own admission, an O person. You fired the D guy and hired two R guys to get you O talent. Unless you hire ANOTHER consultant (and the NCAA has rules on that), we have no DEFENSE. YOU, Coach G, made that call when you re-organized. I’m beginning to think that you figured that firepower can overcome any obstacle and that we have an unlimited amount on the bench. Trouble is….The FIREPOWER gets NO “live fire” testing in practice. They decimate the scout squad….but the scout squad does NOT possess the skillsets of our opponents.

As to WHAT happens this year? I don’t know. IT may (positively a GUESS as only ONE person….perhaps TWO….know what will happen) play out like this. Coach G is put on probation. We will NEVER (and should NOT) know if he is.

IF next year (season ending 2018) is ugly, then AD Yow will take HER bows early and the “TRUMP” (or Obama or Bush or Clinton) era will begin. The Coach SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR. SO, if she cuts out early, then he will be packing. I do NOT see her hiring a NEW coach….she is WAY too smart and professional for that. You do NOT leave your successor with a NEWLY HIRED Coach. SO WHO KNOWS….?

It WILL not be up to us, Board Monkey or Lunatic Fringe; it will come from comments from the BIG DONORS. They supported her and Reynolds will always be her crown jewel. It will, however, be adorned by our Director’s Cup improvements. Like it or NOT, that is how the MSM or the Press or most fans look at things. Your NCAA overall record, not just your Big Time sports are what makes an “Elite” School.

I WILL throw in a little politics here…..flame as you see fit. 95+% of the Administration of ANY College or university is NOT going to celebrate this Friday. The Term ILLEGITIMATE will be used or thought more times than (fill in the blank). SO, if the NCAA (which penalized NC, but NOT TX) says that the Director’s Cup Criteria is correct, then when you score BIG THERE….it is your legacy. AD Yow’s goals were to be a BIG TIME Director’s Cup institution…..CHECK.

She ALSO said we would be a TOP 25 School in the BIG (Revenue) Sports (FB, MBB & WBB). The Ladies knocked off Duke yesterday. We will stay in the Rankings. We don’t need to talk about the other two.

IF the BIGTIME DONORS start to pressure the WPC and also chit-chat with Dr. Woodson, SOMETHING will be done….until such, we can type and opine all day long and consume more bandwidth that the 14 YO that hacked John Podesta’s email account. NOTHING will happen….

Was at the game. To say it was an abomination (as in a Bombardination) would be an understatement. Did not listen to Gott’s comments….figured he would be channeling Coach Doeren about it will now be for the team and pride and they are the only ones that believe in themselves.

When an ACC team sets a NEW high scoring (this season) record….you are in trouble. We did show signs of life every once and a while….but barely…..only when the EMT pushed the DEFIB button….and it was NOT long lasting.

    UGLY….U>G>L>Y….

To set the record start, Coach Gottfried’s contract runs THROUGH the 2019/20 season. SO, he is ours for the next 3 years.

Right, Wrong or Indifferent, he is OURS….

Cool video. If you attended the first MBB game after Coach Doeren hire, he and a fullback and one other musician played a few guitar sets at halftime.

We need to get our NCAA team a REAL bass boat with a tuned 275 HP OB, not the stock wussy 150.

I took angling in PE. Did my field fishing at Yates Mill. Never recruited for a varsity squad. That was 53 years ago.

    Rick,
Thanks….I probably shot from the hip, as did Coach Gottfried, but I was as agitated as he was. He was a professional broadcaster and is paid to keep his emotions in check….or to unleash them as a strategy.

I equated it to the Chicago speech given a few days before, but it was more polished and eloquent….and I objected to the conclusion….after watching the game.

We were promised hope and change. We are NOW #12 in the Director’s Cup….something that I did not think we would achieve. I am still though, HOPING for a CHANGE so that the final two goals….a FB and MBB program (not besmirching WBB or BB or other sports) such as Bass Fishing and Air Rifle Shooting (PC…we used to at least shoot .22 Shorts, not M1’s)…

We certainly have come a long way and the numbers (improvements) will make AD Yow’s retirement a bit more financially secure and ensure her independence….but the “Ranked Revenue” sports have hardly achieved any noterity (Of a positive note)….

I TRIED not to embellish or add any “enhancements” to what I was told about last season and also the comments from this season. They are SECOND hand, but have been verified from other sources along the same general context, so I THINK that they are generally correct….I can NOT condemn Coach Gottfried for wanting a better mix of coaches and that, perhaps, Coach Lutz, did not live up to his expectations….but it seemed to be a 2 way street and the Defensive Side of the concrete is still covered with ice and no one has any icemelt or has a plan to melt it….so we will continue to “slip slide away”. Paul Simon’s lyrics are pretty satirical and perhaps….a little too close to home…

Did you note that MERRYLAND is now #44. Interesting that PSU of Sexual Preditor fame is #7.

About that “Debbie, we need to talk about Coach Gottfied” meeting that many (and I admit to pushing that sputtering car in the parade) have been opining for.

I remember when she took the job, we were 8X or so (84?). When she broke the top 30, I thought we had peaked…..much like a George Soros bet on the Trump stock market….

Hats off to Debbie…..she has fulfilled SOME of her Hope and Change Promises. Now about the FB and MBB being top 25 programs….And Wes and the Ladies came home a little more sore in the posterior from Cuse….

We shall see…..what we won’t be allowed to see….

    JeremyH,

I will give you my INSIDER take on this….Lutz was well respected by the team. Last year when the kitchen got really hot and the food was late, the chief chef and the assistant got into some shouting matches. Coach G who runs his practices to the nearest minute would rant and rave and Lutz got tired of being abused for the lack of D when we were suffering big time from lack of O.

This comes from a pretty reliable source….a ranking member of the NCSU 1983 team who fired the final Shot (pass) that Lo dunked. If you go to the Women’s games, there are several MBB members that attend and they have their “reserved place”. Whitt is usually there and chit chats with them, so he DOES maintain a relationship with the team despite not being on the coaching staff.

The Lowdown from Whitt comes from an impeccible source that has a nice tailgating setup and Whitt comes over from his spread and chats a lot. I do NOT believe that the comments about the shouting matches are an embellishment or a “net” rumor.

SO, Lutz was fired. AD Yow kept him on (confirmed in an email from him personally) until October until he was more vested in the NC Retirement system. THEN, he split. HE was very candid in his last official NCSU.EDU email….FIRED.

Lutz was the compliment to Coach Gottfried’s OFFENSE. Lutz was the Defensive Guru. We shucked him and hired two recruiters. Maybe the Campus Police will track him down and make him bring back our defense.

SO, we basically have NO defense this year. It seems like the Locker Room was NOT decontaminated and the CJ Leslie “I can DO THIS….watch me” virus has returned. IF the comments about the demeanor of the team are correct, then the team chemistry is rapidly deteriorating and the DJS Show for the NBA scouts is wearing thin.

I have NO insider info as to what will happen this season. I have elected to forego a sizeable donation this year and have stated WHY to the WPC. It would have been done last year except we were a little too heavy in donations and my DW, my accountant, decided to defer it to this year. It ain’t gonna happen. Probably the ONLY one…but I did register my vote with my pocketbook and have passed that info on to the WPC.

Last night’s outburst was not professional. Coach Gottfried ought to be pretty laid back now. He has had his AFib procedure (I have AFib so I understand). That is a BIG STRESSER removed. He also has formalized his divorce and he and Elizabeth have spit the booty. He has a very nice (younger and semi-trophy) GF that spends a lot of time in his new abode. He does NOT have to be on the “Prowl”. My wife thinks that she is actually too demanding of his male virility and “wearing him out”….DO NO MESS WITH MY DW….she will HURT YOU. Don’t know about his personal situation or female companionship…but it OUGHT to be OK.

SO, if you eliminate TWO stress points, then he ought to be fully focused. You WILL recall that Coach Lowe’s demise started when his personal issues (son and wife and separation) took its toll.

SO, what IS the excuse….? I don’t know. Lowe left Coach a GREAT stable. He managed it well and got to the Sweet Sixteen. I was there and followed the team to the ACC Tourney, Columbus and St. Louis. I was never prouder.

NOW, the bubble seems to have burst. What needs to be done is an honest (no personality issues involved) evaluation at the end of the season. That may have to start with Dr. Woodson. AD Yow has done an outstanding job of improving our AD and we have a lot of respect….but we have NOT achieved the “Top 25” status for the two major Revenue sports…which was a stated goal.

I certainly hope that she casts aside her friendship with the coach and evaluates him as her employee and not her friend. She showed little mercy with Coach Lowe….that was probably the best thing to do….but that same type of professional review needs to be done this year…..hopefully it will.

The women suffered an ugly defeat at Syracuse tonight. UP by 10 at the half. I saw the SAME game last year at Broughton last year. We lead….we stumbled….they triumphed. BUT, I did wonder….can Wes Moore coach MBB?

My opinion….probably not shared by many….and not wine fortified….

    Adventuroo

Wrote a LONG post…it got zapped. Lutz was the Defensive Guru that Gott hired to compliment his offense prowess. They parted company last year. They got into shouting matches. This comes from a person that attends a LOT of NCSU practices and also is at most of the Women’s games and sits and talk with a few of the Men’s BB players who come in after practice. He confided it with a high ranking WPC member that the practices were as volatile as Gottfried’s divorce. Lutz was fired. Yow kept him on until October to let him get vested in the NC Retirement system. Lutz confirmed this, personally, in an email.

Gottfried has eliminated the HEALTH stressor. He is now divorced and has a very nice looking GF that spends a lot of time at his new place. That eliminates the RELATIONSHIP stressor. MAYBE she is wearing him out….who knows.

Sidney, if you recall, went downhill after his son’s personal problems and also his separation. He left Gottfried with a talent pool….something that LOWE did not inherit. I attended every home game, the entire ACC Tourney, Columbus and St. Louis in Gottfried’s first year. He did an excellent job with Lowe’s talent.

I have notified the WPC that I will NOT make a donation that I had verbally committed to (had the forms). I can not in clear conscience send them the stock for the donation. Last night’s outburst and the logic of “they are young and we made progress”. I was at the VT game. I watched the UNC and BC game. The team seems to be a product of coaching….NOT talent. We HAVE TALENT.

Of course, AD Yow needs to do an objective evaluation. She held back no punches with Lowe. I think that Lowe or Sendek could do as well or perhaps better with our talent. I also respect what she has done to elevate our entire program. Will she do this? Will Dr. Woodson get involved? I have a better feel for what Trump’s first 100 days will be like than the answers to the first two questions.

If the comments about the team chemistry and the CJL virus resurfacing is correct, then the season is OVER….and if it is, then our relationship with Coach Gottfied probably needs to be over….

Wes Moore lost tonight. I was at the Syracuse game last year. Same result….different year. BUT, he was coaching to the last second. My thought was…”Can he coach MBB?”

Outta here….did NOT wear any RED today or any Logo clothing….rarely a day goes by without some WP article of clothing….but NOT NOW….BC almost killed our FB program and history is repeating itself in MBB.

SO, was Nicky really SMART in dismissing the WA “Mouth” Lane (son of the infamous NCSU Lone Ranger Coach) Kiffin and going with a back-up OC.

Dabo’s last second scoring play was brilliant. The receivers doing a cross pattern and tying up the defenders so that one was open was brilliant. I have not seen a better executed “trick play”….although is probably does not qualify for the magical Disney Mickey the Magician award….

Can’t say that I disagree. Our WPC Check was the 45th as Stormin’ Norman recruited me in Ahoskie (or maybe Murfreesboro) in 1971.

I had planned on purchasing a Reynolds Tile last year, but time ran out to get the wording. So, it was on this year’s list of things to do.

    THAT is on HOLD.

I don’t think that Bobby Purcell is in charge of the NCSU AD. That is a function of Chancellor Woodson and carried out by AD Yow.

I have the utmost respect for AD Yow and fully understand that ONE game, be it a loss that broke a record set 96 years ago, makes a season. ORW set was defeated in 2012 by FSU for the worst (I believe) margin his his career. UNC was #3 at the time in Mid January. They finished #4 in the polls with a 29-5 record. SO, one game does NOT define the season. However, we have had our OOC fiasco and our “U” fiasco and now our UNC Humiliation FIASCO.

Depending on how the season plays out, there MIGHT need to be some serious meetings afterwards. We are by NO WAY, performing to the level of the talent that we have. In addition, the lack of “game confidence” which is written or sloughed off to “inexperience” is, to me, NOT an acceptable explanation. We had the momentum from the VT game….and totally lost it or did not fully understand how to come out and play a more talented and seasoned team.

Embarrassing is the understatement of the year….

Need some REALLY strong coffee….or whatever. It has not been 24 hours and I am STILL asking WHY. BUT, I got to wondering…

    http://northcarolina.247sports.com/Bolt/The-toughest-UNC-basketball-losses-in-the-last-10-years–45466925

    http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings/_/poll/1/year/2012

January 14, 2012. AT FSU FSU 90 & UNC 57. UNC was ranked #3 at the time. UNC finished with a 29 – 5 record and was #4 in the final AP rankings.

One game does NOT a season make….but we have had two lapses already…

I wonder if our lads have the “confidence” that the 2012 UNC team had as to their ability to not let one really bad experience screw up their season. I do NOT have that confidence that our coaching staff can “muddle through this…” and THAT is a real shame….

Me thinks, after scrolling down to get to the comments, that it is “Tuffy” that should be depicted with crutches and bandages and tattered uniform.
We got anhilated in the Dean Dome. UNC’s talent is probably better, on any given day, but they’re also beatable. Fuss and cuss about ORW, he had a better game plan and his laddies were better coached and executed it (or maybe us) flawlessly.
To paraphrase an old movie line…What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to NCSU BB? Answer is, It hasn’t yet happened.
That covers Les, Herbie and Sydney.
    What a sad commentary.

    OK,
THIS probably will NOT show. My posts have been SHOWING and THEN disappearing and I did not use any Political terms.

Jimmy V ran a slack practice. The “stars” got to lollygag around and did not get pushed as much as the rest of the team. That is well documented in many of the books about JV and also from the players and even a couple of “JV’isms”.

Coach Gottfried runs a totally structured and to the minute practice. His note cards and, I think, the BIG clock, are the LAW. You do NOT deviate. NOW, when he and Coach Lutz got into some elevated voice discussions last year, the timetable DID suffer. Nothing changed….but the personnel. Coach Lutz was very frank in his comments and emails. He was FIRED. BUT AD Yow allowed him to work on until October for NC Retirement vesting. THEN he left.

I kidded and said that Coach Lutz packed up our defense and took it with him. MAYBE he also stole some of the offense. Whatever happened today was probably the most embarrassing loss that I have seen a WP team endure….and THAT covers more years that I want to admit.

With all deference to BOTB’s “White Line” Theory, I have to WONDER. IF you run a tight ship and a structured practice, then obviously your team is NOT LEARNING. We did look like a street pick-up game and certainly NOT executing the SYSTEM….handed down from the rafters of Pawley by God Wooden. We are setting losing records that would even embarrass Dave Doeren.

We need some MOTIVATION….assuming that we have GOOD coaching….Jim Harrick, our $pecial Bench Consultant does NOT seem to bring that to the group. I vote for hiring Joe Gibbs. Anyone that can motivate (through a financial reward….or penalty) a NASCAR Pit Crew to constantly BEAT their times and also the rigors of perfect execution is ON TO SOMETHING. I think we ought to hire him.

Valvano was a GAME coach. Gottfried seems to be a practice coach. IF we ever start to practice what he preaches….we will be invincible. BUT, no Gottfried team has EVER been able to do that.

There will NOT be a Come to Jesus meeting. Coach was allowed back on the bus and did not have to UBER back home. Maybe he SHOULD have….

This is NOT going to be a good season. BUT, unless the NBA is really STUPID, Y7 and DSJ will NOT be in the Lottery Pick category….that is a fact of life. DSJ looked like CJ Leslie….how’s that working out?

    BTOB,

I was planning on going tomorrow and had rehearsed the Choir’s Anthem at home. There ain’t many Church’s open tomorrow,in the Triangle, but I understand that Popeye’s will be serving and have extra wait staff.

RW has been making miracles….as do the receivers….

GAME NOT ON. Postponed until Sunday 1:00 PM. Dean Dome will host an on campus Votive Candle (to stay warm) event tonight. Theme will be “Global Warming is a FACT….”

Word on the street is that Roy Cooper will also allow the 2000 or so that could not attend last night’s ball to attend and temporarily lift the Emergency Order to let them drive or cycle or magic carpet (as long as the Carpet Pool) to the Dean Dome.

    Video at 11….

Lowe came in an era when graduation rates were not a big deal. Our sister university had a program of free female entertainment, on demand from a
‘list” of willing Sweet Caroline’s or you could sign up for a steady source. Don’t know how many of them went on to a post college relationship.

Lowe got his degree. Please do NOT disrespect any member of the 1983 or 1974 teams. Lowe had his issues, but it was NOT from NOT trying. He was not left with much to work with.

    BOTB,

Can’t say that I totally agree with the Ref comment. They DID let them play during the First Half. There was a little “confusion” as one Ref could not figure out WHEN or IF to let one of our guys in. That broke the flow and rhythm of the game. THEN, in the second half, they tweeted more than Trump at 3:00 in the morning…

I GUESS that they were trying to keep it under control and prevent Chicago type abuse on the court. BUT, it sure did add a LOT of time to an outcome that was never in doubt. We left early and did a longer “gotta go NOW” stop and did not get any traffic. BUT, we were still running late compared to normal 8:00 games.

NOW, if you look at the Stats, the 43 Tweets is a bit above the average. Howsomever, the fact that there were only a few fouls called in the first half, then the number of fouls in the second half, due to the double bonus, certain added time. The players were also a bit more aggressive…

All in all, it was NOT the most cleanly officiated game….and the final score did reflect a lot of frustration.

One other comment, again from being there and also the stats…

Our 3 Point shooting was down about 15 – 25%. YES, Maverick and Smith and Henderson hit some real beauties….but not consistently.

Our FT shooting was also very subpar….about the same as our FT %. We were down around 15% or so from the stripe.

We DID get a lot of Rebounds and we did get a LOT of points in the paint…but had we hit more trey’s, the score would have been worse…
