My take on the game is that our defense started the game with the primary goal of getting to their quarterback. Chapel Hill expected it (after last year) and had a bunch of quick dump plays ready. They took advantage of our over-aggressive play and torched us several times. After the defense went with a more conservative run stop attitude, we held them and worked our way back into the game.
Did this occur to anyone else?
I’d love to hear from you guys with way more football experience than me.
I just figured out that the game is not on cable in my area (DC) but is available on a HD sideband channel of one of the local stations. Now I’ll have to break out the rabbit ears.

Can someone explain how this is not an NCAA violation? They banned specials dorms for athletes years ago.
I have fond memories of watching David, Monte, et al. play in Reynolds. But, realistically, Reynolds is (was) a dark, dank barn. It may have been state of the art in the 50’s but it was already outdated in the 70’s. Now, 40 years later, it is an actively used facility and desperately in need of an update. Air conditioning! What a concept!

If the national seed in the bracket is eliminated in the regional stage, the super regional will be played at the higher seeded team’s field. If the two seeds are the same, the Super Regional will be bid upon by the two competing teams.
No jinx, just a statement of the rules – plus I wanted to move Sara Jean back to the top.
This could also come into play in the UCLA regional as UMd and UVa are both 2-0 as 3 seeds.
I still think that Whit’s injury was a benefit in disguise. The open playing time was spread around and we ended up with a more experienced/deeper bench. Ask Terry Gannon what he thinks.
My wife and I are good friends with a couple that are both Duke grads. We watched basketball at their house for about six hours yesterday, including our game. It was pretty cool to hear him using second person plural pronouns to talk about State!
Everyone on the team was great yesterday but my shout out goes to Freeman. He doesn’t get a lot of recognition but he was SOLID yesterday.

I think I’m right when I say no team has ever won the tournament playing more than three games. I also think that, as the perennial host of the “Les Robinson Invitational”, we have had more four game tournaments than anyone else. Someone please let me know if I’m wrong. If I’m right, let’s make some history this time out. We need some Justin “Ironman” Gainey mojo!
