If you have ones that leave for the first chance at more money (Lacey and Abu if he stays in the draft) then that begins to be an eye opener about the type of culture the leader is creating and whether people believe in it, the team, and the greater misson.
I’m all about team and greater mission, but if the offer on the table is $100k vs $0, there might not be an I in team, but there is a me.

Actually, Portland and OKC are watchable in the NBA, along with Golden State and the Spurs. Maybe some others, but I really don’t watch much.

I feel much the same way, 13OT. I used to watch a lot of ACC basketball, even the blues. And except for the Great Satan in Chapel Swill, I always rooted for our teams out of conference. It’s increasingly gotten to where I just watch (or listen if I can’t find it on free TV or Sling) to N.C. State. And this year I’m really just watching Cat. And while I guess I want ACC teams to win out of conference, I rarely even check the scores, much less watch the games.
If I didn’t grow up a State fan and go to school there, I probably would have bagged it years ago.

I think wanting Lacey to come back for the betterment of our team is extremely selfish. I was never under the impression, from things I read on the boards, that he thought he was going to be an NBA draft pick. He just realized he was going to be old for a fifth-year senior, was poor and needed money. Can’t fault him for that, or for the fact that our team sucks this year.
You go to college to figure out what you want to do in life and then do it. Ripping on a kid pursuing that does not make us look good.

No problems with Lacey at all. He wasn’t going to become a surefire NBA first rounder by staying. He needed the money. Hell, I’d move to Europe for probably 1/4 of what he’s getting paid. Glad to see a ex-Wolfpacker doing well and making steps toward his dream of being a coach.
