Wolfpack Baseball (30-21, 11-16 ACC, 5th Atlantic) closes out the regular season this weekend on the road in Blacksburg vs the Hokies of VT. Winners o

Pitt has a very weak opponent this weekend in Notre Dame. Chances are high that they sweep the Irish. The Pack’s best chance may be to displace Wake Forest. Although Wake has a 2 game lead, they play Virginia this weekend. If Virginia sweeps Wake and the Pack wins just 2 of the games at VT, State and Wake would be tied with State owning the head to head advantage. If the Pack sweeps VT, then Wake would have to win 2 against UVA to hang on to their spot. The common prerequisite for all of these scenarios is that the Pack must win.

Inexcusable to be in this position, we can all agree.
05/15/2014 at 12:06 PM #51966elvislivesParticipantTo add mystery to the intrigue, the weather forecast looks awfully wet this weekend. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a few double headers in some of these season-ending series.
05/15/2014 at 4:55 PM #51971WufpackerParticipant^ Yep, weather looking sketchy indeed.
As of now today’s game is still scheduled for 5:30p. But interestingly enough ESPN3 has backed out of broadcasting today’s game, allegedly due to the weather. Dunno why they can’t just say they don’t want to bother with two sh-tty teams no one gives a rat’s fat behind about.
Or, maybe Danny Kanell’s rental car fees from last weekend put them in too big of a financial hole (/obscure reference) .
05/15/2014 at 6:15 PM #51972TheCOWDOGModeratorNo…Kanell’s rentals are exactly why.
Rain postponements suck.
My god, I think half my life is in rain delay.
05/15/2014 at 6:28 PM #51974WufpackerParticipantWell ‘Dog, you are now free to go hit the bars.
Thursday cancelled, doubleheader starting at 2pm Friday.
05/15/2014 at 6:42 PM #51975TheCOWDOGModeratorTrue dat, Wuf.
What I should have written was, postponements are good.
Rain delays suck.
05/15/2014 at 6:54 PM #51976WufpackerParticipant😀
Yep, Tom Petty didn’t know how right he was….05/15/2014 at 8:16 PM #51977AdventurooParticipantThis just in…..
ND WINS…..3 – 0 over Pitt. Both schools’ websites confirm….ESPN still not even listing game.
Way to go IRISH….
WF v UVA Postponed due to weather.
05/15/2014 at 10:04 PM #51979bill.onthebeachParticipantO ye of little faith…
It rains on the just and unjust alike.Pop!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!05/16/2014 at 8:54 AM #51984WufpackerParticipantND WINS…..3 – 0 over Pitt.
Also, Clemson topped BC and Duke fell to FSU (both good things for our potential tiebreaker situation with Pitt)
With State/VT and Wake/UVa both doubling up today, a lot could shake out one way or another.
05/16/2014 at 11:16 AM #51987Fastback68ParticipantWuf – Thanks for recap and 8:54 post. Go Pack.
05/16/2014 at 12:35 PM #51988elvislivesParticipantDoesn’t look like ESPN3 will be airing either of the Pack’s games today. Anyone know of another online TV source to watch? No game tracker, not today.
05/16/2014 at 1:41 PM #51989WufpackerParticipant^ My guess is that the only option would be if VT is doing some sort of video feed, but looking at their website it appears they’re only offering audio for our games, and even that is paid subscription.
All 3 of the weekend’s games were originally supposed to be ESPN3 broadcasts, but apparently VT had some hand in nixing that ahead of time, though I don’t know the details.
05/16/2014 at 2:13 PM #51990PackerInRussiaParticipantGotta love baseball. Of the 3 VT starters, Scheetz by far has the worst ERA, but is 4-1 whereas the other 2 have losing records. Markey’s ERA is almost half of Scheetz’s, but he’s 2-7.
05/16/2014 at 2:13 PM #51991PackerInRussiaParticipantP.S. Go Pack
05/16/2014 at 2:43 PM #51992WufpackerParticipantHere ya go. Enjoy.
05/16/2014 at 2:56 PM #51993WufpackerParticipantOr maybe not.
Feed just died apparently.05/16/2014 at 3:14 PM #51994WufpackerParticipantFWIW, it’s tied 2-2 mid 3rd and Rodon has not been particularly sharp so far.
05/16/2014 at 3:33 PM #51995WufpackerParticipant4-2 Pack mid 4th.
05/16/2014 at 3:41 PM #51996elvislivesParticipantUpdates appreciated Wuf. Hope Carlos is settling down.
05/16/2014 at 3:47 PM #51997WufpackerParticipantHe doesn’t seem to be.
4-4 headed to the 5th.The video feed will allegedly come back up if/when the wifi in the VT pressbox comes back up.
05/16/2014 at 3:49 PM #51998WufpackerParticipantAustin leads off the Pack’s 5th with a solo shot to make it 5-4.
05/16/2014 at 3:53 PM #51999WufpackerParticipant6-4 Pack, Fincher on 2nd, still none away. VT pitching change.
