http://abc11.com/sports/unc-accreditation-under-review/372365/
So far UNC has defended these sham classes as not a sports issue, but a academic one. This strategy has kept the NCAA at bay and the banners hanging in the old gym safe.
Keeping with this story, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) has come knocking twice now for accredidation reasons. However, in the words of Jim Dean, UNC Provost, “The entire university should not be punished for the academic fraud that went on for nearly 20 years.” So this is not a academic issue either…?
I’m pretty sure this is an issue, so UNC will have to pick between its sports or its academics.
Get some popcorn and watch.
The problem is it was an athletic academic issue which became a larger academic issue. At the heart it was BOTH, not an either/or proposition. Deflect and deny. what is that in latin? that should be their new motto.
Smarter than the average bear
Defelct et negare. That is their new motto. All we need to do now is photo shop that on their emblem for the university. Anyone have experience with photo shop?
Another ‘review’…can’t wait until we get to the ‘investigation’ stage!
