Tagged: Arizona State, Torian Graham
Graham, who spent part of his high school career at Raleigh’s Word of God, was once a highly touted recruit. He committed to N.C. State in May 2011 and December 2011 but never signed with the Wolfpack.
After high school, he played at Chipola (Junior) College in Florida but faced legal troubles in his sophomore year there. Graham signed with Houston and coach Kelvin Sampson (a Pembroke native) in April 2014 but left the program before appearing in a game. He committed to Buffalo in December, joined Hurley’s program for the second semester but wasn’t eligible to play because of transfer rules.
Now there’s a guy who knows what he wants and goes for it.
On the surface, it’s not a good look (multiple high schools and colleges), but it really is an incredible story of perseverance. Living in a car with his brother and drug addicted mother, I can’t even begin to imagine what his life was like.
Good for him. I hope Hurley and Levi can help him be successful.
