I know we’re all still stinging from last night @’Cuse. I myself have avoided the interwebz since the final horn last night until this very moment.
But don’t forget that BASEBALL STARTS TODAY!!!! So things can’t be all bad. No TV, but the radio play by play is being broadcast (allegedly without the need for subscription since WKNC will be otherwise engaged….keep reading) on GoPack.com All Access.
Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t toss a reminder that our Women’s Hoops team is having a phenomenal year. Currently 22-3 (9-2 ACC) and ranked #10 nationally, first year head coach Wes Moore and his upstarts welcome 17th ranked Carolina to Reynolds Coliseum at 3:30pm. If you can’t get there in person, the game is televised on ESPN2 today (radio on WKNC…see, you thought I forgot about that, didn’t you?)
The world didn’t end last night (though it did feel like it briefly) and our other teams are deserving of the support folks.
02/16/2014 at 12:21 PM #41229BJD95KeymasterI will tune in ESPN2 at 3:30. I nominate this for game thread.
02/16/2014 at 12:32 PM #41232WufpackerParticipantWorks for me.
Just looked at weather re: baseball opener…you guys are still kinda chilly, but at least it looks to be dry.
Supposed to be mid 80s here today (cue the eff you Wuf comments…hehehehe 😛 )
02/16/2014 at 12:36 PM #41233BJD95KeymasterEh, go stalk some Fighten’ Sendeks co-eds, why dontcha? LMAO
02/16/2014 at 12:46 PM #41239WufpackerParticipantWhere do you think I was on the bike this morning?
I ain’t no dummy.
02/16/2014 at 1:02 PM #41246WufpackerParticipantAccording to GoPack.com All Access, streaming video of today’s baseball opener will also be subscription free.
02/16/2014 at 1:13 PM #41251WufpackerParticipant^Apparently the video link is bogus.
Pack already down 1-0 btw.Check that…video just came up.
02/16/2014 at 2:03 PM #41264WufpackerParticipantPack down 2-0 after 3.
Rodon struggling with location a bit.02/16/2014 at 2:14 PM #41267TheCOWDOGModeratorGimme some live stats, brother. Can’t pull nuthin up on Android.
Where they got the Jakester?
Field and order.
02/16/2014 at 2:22 PM #41271WufpackerParticipantFincher in CF, batting 5th….
Turner SS
Austin C
Ratledge 2B
Riley LF
Fincher CF
Cavanaugh 1B
Shepherd DH
Knizner 3B
Suggs RFNot sure about stats. I’m not scoring it today and gametracker is a no show.
Now 3-0 after 4 and a half.
02/16/2014 at 2:29 PM #41275WufpackerParticipantI do know Turner is 2 for 3 so far.
02/16/2014 at 2:40 PM #41278TheCOWDOGModeratorYep.
Hate the move to center ..but in no means catastrophic. The five hole is where he belongs
Hope to see plentiful RBI from there.Rodon will struggle with location for the first few as well rounded sports guys like you, and several others already know.
No need for pompous preaching in this post…yet.
Hey, I played allotta ball against that Griff 1B’s old man. He was quite a pitcher.
02/16/2014 at 2:43 PM #41279WufpackerParticipant3-0 after 6
Suggs (rf) has speed and what appears to be a damn fine cannon (accurate too).
02/16/2014 at 2:49 PM #41282WufpackerParticipantRodon done for the day, Woeck tossed the 7th and looked very good doing it.
02/16/2014 at 2:49 PM #41283TheCOWDOGModeratorExcellent news on Suggs…Finch belongs in CF in that case. It was pretty much inevitable.
02/16/2014 at 3:00 PM #41288WufpackerParticipantGriffs’ ace on the hill ain’t no slouch.
Aside from Turner, he’s given most everyone else fits.02/16/2014 at 3:10 PM #41289WufpackerParticipantTurner now 3 for 4.
Bunt single to lead off the 8th.02/16/2014 at 3:13 PM #41291BJD95KeymasterNot looking like our weekend, it seems. Nor has it been much of a century, for that matter.
02/16/2014 at 3:16 PM #41293WufpackerParticipantWoeck tossed an effective 8th, btw.
Turner gets his first steal of the year, but ends up stranded at 2nd.3-0 bad guys after 8.
02/16/2014 at 3:32 PM #41296WufpackerParticipantPack drops the opener 3-0.
Turner still looks like Turner, with both bat and glove (and wheels too).
Woeck looked tremendous.
Rodon shaky with location some, but still overpowering for the most part.02/16/2014 at 3:43 PM #41297BJD95KeymasterThe hoops womenfolk are having a rough go at the outset, too.
02/16/2014 at 3:46 PM #41298WufpackerParticipantHopefully they’ve awakened now.
I think we should commission a set of these unis for the men’s team.
02/16/2014 at 3:52 PM #41299BJD95KeymasterDon’t we lose this “Hoops for Hope” game like every year? Doesn’t seem right!
02/16/2014 at 3:53 PM #41301RaisedByWolvesParticipantWe’ve lost it the last few years, but we lost most games the last few years.
02/16/2014 at 3:56 PM #41302RaisedByWolvesParticipantHow many fouls does Gatling have? Two?
