CHARLOTTE – Even on the eve of training camp, the Panthers continue their search for more speed.
On Monday, they signed receiver Trevor Graham, a Raleigh native who starred in football and track at N.C. State. Graham’s addition puts the Panthers’ roster at the current league limit of 90.
Graham, who’s switched back to his given name after spending his college and pro career known as T.J., was a third-round pick of the Bills in 2012. In his first two seasons, he caught 54 passes for 683 yards and three touchdowns, but he was released in final cuts ahead of the 2014 season.
Graham, 27, then got looks from the Titans, Jets and Saints, but from 2014-15, he combined for just seven receptions, 111 yards and one score. He spent last year out of football after the Eagles cut him in August, and was most recently in training camp with the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.
Graham, who’s 5-foot-11 and 188 pounds, becomes the 14th receiver on the Panthers’ roster. He could also see some preseason action as a returner. His 3,153 kickoff return yards for the Wolfpack are the most in the ACC history.
