As we’re all wallowing in depression about the men’s team, how about turning your attention to the Wolfpack Women, who just played a terrific game against the Blue Devils. Since getting beat bad at Miami to open the ACC season, they’ve run off 4 wins, including a triple-OT thriller against Pitt and tonight’s win at #22 Duke. They’re terribly undersized, but they hustle, they’re smart, and they have a pair of terrific guards in Miah Spencer and Dominique Wilson. More than that, they’re incredibly well coached. I genuinely believe that Wes Moore is one of the top women’s basketball coaches in the nation. The team under him has consistently been disciplined and prepared, he compensates well for his roster inadequacies schematically, and he makes great in-game adjustments. They were really impressive tonight.
Oh, and only one rotation player is a senior and they bring in a top 20 class next year.
Good job, Coach Wes! At least maybe some wolves will be dancin’ this March.
That’s fan-fricking-tastic.
WTG ladies.
Kudos to ’em! It’ll be nice to once again have a quality team playing in Reynolds.
