In the first half anyway. So far it’s the Cat and Abu show again. State has been working the clock, and for the most part getting decent shots. The Pack has outrebounded the Canes 22-14.

Funny how good the sportsmanship is when you are 1-7.

Cleaning the glass and controlling the tempo. Only way to keep it close.

    Go Cat, go !!!

Great win for the team. Feels good to get that one. I will say this, I think we benefited a lot in this game from some home cooking by the refs. A rare occurrence for us to be sure. Refs in general were all over the place but I think the calls tilted to us in this one.

    Go Pack!

State out rebounds Canes 41-23, hits FTs down the stretch (Cat 10-10, Abu 5-5, Mav 6-8), and did a serviceable job against the press. Nice win Pack!

Interesting, AT. When this site was going off on Jamie Luckie based games, I did point out that there were 4 teams receiving that crew’s whistle beyond State’s rate. (Crickets)

Miami was #1. Still might be.

That was fun. Cat was great but is not yet 100%/

The key was that the Martin’s and Rowan didn’t take bad shots.

Cat lost his composure a bit toward the end when Rodriguez was pressuring him. I’m glad that didn’t go any further. Thanks to Angel for mouthing to the ref and Larranaga pulling him.

I finally caught up via DVR! Hooray for motivational calling out giving us a 1-game boost at least, and Miami sucking eggs.

The first of 10 straight to end the regs.
    11-7, #6 seed.
I might need to stop drinking.
But woo hoo for today anyway.

Nice win. We shoot threes well and we will win. Credit to the guys and the Gott for putting the stinker vs GT behind them and playing well today.

No way, that sounds like “Colombian Marching Powder” caliber confidence to me, muchacho.

So, I went to PNC yesterday to enjoy watching Cat Barber, and a basketball game broke out. One key difference between this game and all those losses is that it was played for the most part under control, ie, there was not a bunch of crazy threes jacked up by Mav and Caleb. Those shots always put us behind the eight ball. Only 11 threes taken yesterday. Otherwise they worked the ball inside, worked being the operative word. It takes more effort to play the type of game they played yesterday, and thankfully they were rewarded for the effort. Beejay was definitely more engaged, and actually went after rebounds. Even Mav was crashing the boards.

Hopefully they put this game in their memory banks, and use this as a blueprint the rest of the way.

On a side note, Henderson’s limp looks almost gone. It was just barely noticeable, but it was there, so still a ways to go. And

Also, Caleb looked like he hurt his ankle pretty badly, so that could be an issue on a short turnaround.
