I miss Katarina Witt. That is all.
Or as someone on another site put it…she could interrogate me for the Stassi any day.
02/16/2014 at 12:37 PM #41234WufpackerParticipantYes….she most certainly had….ummmmm, talent.
Watching Fins/Canucks hockey at the moment.
(none of them have comparable talent to Katarina though)02/16/2014 at 12:39 PM #41235BJD95KeymasterThe Canuck ice dancing lass is purty. Not Witt-caliber, but then again…who is.
I remember being a kid in my living room, cheering on Katarina over the American (who fell, to my delight – Debbie Thomas?)…to much family stink-eye. But hell, they already knew I weren’t right in the head.
02/16/2014 at 12:41 PM #41236WufpackerParticipantLOL, yeah I just popped over the NBCSP and caught her.
She’s very cute, but her skirt is too long. Ditto with this blonde chick (sorry, don’t know who they are…Russkies?)
02/16/2014 at 12:43 PM #41237WufpackerParticipantLMAO, the music they’re skating to…I can never hear that and not think of Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island.
I’m not too right in the head either apparently.
02/16/2014 at 12:45 PM #41238BJD95KeymasterRusskies, yup. Giggled re the commentator’s “flexible back” comment. Why they dominate the NYC strip clubs, no doubt.
The Canuck even has a fine porn star name – Tessa Virtue.
02/16/2014 at 12:46 PM #41240BJD95KeymasterSluttier dresses and less homosexual-ish music (come on, Putin!) would indeed help.
02/16/2014 at 12:48 PM #41241WufpackerParticipant😀
02/16/2014 at 12:52 PM #41242WufpackerParticipantJohnny is almost as pretty as Tara.
02/16/2014 at 12:53 PM #41243BJD95KeymasterI was trying to tell if it was a really gay dude, or a really butch lesbian. Thankfully, they put “Johnny” on the screen.
02/16/2014 at 2:10 PM #41265WufpackerParticipantI think I might be a fan of Russkie curling.
02/16/2014 at 4:56 PM #41317BJD95KeymasterFor the record, the Canadian team was much better than the Americans in 1st place, not just better to look at.
02/16/2014 at 6:13 PM #41347YogiNCParticipantAs for Curling USA has s****d this time around. When I was living in upstate NY back in the late 80s the wife and I drove by the Schenectady curling club. She wanted to know what a curling club was. I proceeded to explain how curling is played and she swore I was feeding her a line of BS. Had to look it up in the encyclopedia when we got home to show her (no internet back then). She still didn’t believe it until I showed her during the winter Olympics. Men’s hockey is on a roll though, they can sit until the quarters start on Wed. Great overtime win against the Ruskkies.

I don’t know why it is, but men’s curling is unwatchable to me.Put a broom in a chick’s hand and I’m captive.
Luge and skull are totally awesome, but yet again…I find myself looking forward to women’s bobsled.
Go Lo Lo
02/17/2014 at 1:27 AM #41365MrPlywoodParticipantHaha – women’s curling has the MILF factor, although there are some younger teams this year too. I get a kick out of the men’s teams, wearing their technical stretchy fabric shirts to show off their weight-trained biceps. It’s curling man! I played some when I first moved up here, and it can be fun if you have the right group of people competitively matched. As in, I played to win, while most others played to get to the beer. Don’t waste my time bro! While there is strategy and hand-eye coordination involved, I don’t think it belongs in the Olympics – it’s got more in common with golf than hockey. Give me short-track, hockey, slopestyle skiing was nuts, and I was REALLY into the biathlon for some reason.
And women’s skeleton. Talk about yer bods…
02/17/2014 at 7:28 AM #41367YogiNCParticipantPly, you’d have an insurrection on your hands if you tried to remove curling. I could do without ice dancing, never been into any of the ice skating. As other great olympic sports how about badminton and ping pong? There’s a few other in the summer games that could go.

02/17/2014 at 9:11 AM #41370YogiNCParticipantWatching womens hockey. Those gals are GOOD! Kessel, the guy who scored the hat trick yesterday, has a sister on the womens team and she’s pretty good too! Looks like the women are on their way to the gold medal game. They can do no worst than silver.

02/18/2014 at 2:47 PM #41511GowolvesParticipantA friend of mine asked if Costas had pink eye I told him he fell into a midget russian prostitute face first.
02/18/2014 at 3:09 PM #41512BJD95KeymasterDan Patrick was a vast improvement. I hate that Pink Eye Costas is back. I hear tell Scott Baio gave it to him…
02/20/2014 at 5:15 AM #41817MrPlywoodParticipantI cannot stand the opening and closing ceremonies narrated by the NBC crew as if the audience was made up of 5 year olds. It’s utterly ridiculous, and they do it every time. I far prefer the CBC broadcast, they know when to be quiet. When one of the athletes from a smaller contingent entered, Lauer interjected something to the effect of “Let’s just get this out of the way now, there’s no way he will get any kind of a medal at these games. ” Pathetic. STFU Matt.
