The 10th-ranked NC State baseball team scored 13 runs in its final two at-bats to surge past the visiting Air Force Falcons for a 15-5 win Monday afternoon at Doak Field at Dail Park. The Wolfpack scored eight runs in the seventh and five runs in the eighth to claim the victory.
Sophomore Michael Bienlien (1-0) earned his first win of the season with an inning of relief, while the Falcons’ Nick Biancalana was charged with the loss and is now 0-1 on the season.
NC State has now won six straight games and moves to 8-1 on the year, while Air Force falls to 1-6.
Now in his 22nd season with the Wolfpack, head coach Elliott Avent earned his 799th win in charge of the program and will go for 800 on Friday against Bowling Green. The skipper has logged 1,023 career victories.
