So much for the officiating conspiracy theory.
Why?
The one right doesn’t erase all wrongs.
Because, that play could have been called a defensive foul or a no call, which would have furthered the purpose of the conspiracy. The fact that it wasn’t ended up clinching the game.
Or maybe that particular ref just wasn’t in on it.
BTW, for the game, State had 18 fouls, Tech had 19. State shot 20 free throws and missed the front end on a 1-and-1 so should have shot 21. Tech shot 23 free throws, not sure if they missed any front ends.
Not much of a disparity there for the conspiracy theorists.

… just fueling the fire.. have a good night! Go Clemson.
01/26/2014 at 3:28 PM #38646TheCOWDOGModeratorOh, wow.
The refs had everything to do with that win. Very, very good game for the zeebs letting State play.
To not see that is…well…absurd.
01/26/2014 at 3:30 PM #38647bill.onthebeachParticipantThe only thing better than watching our kids play like a TEAM and WIN is
watching Rick and Tau duke it out on the sidelines…Now… all we needed was that stupid white polar bear sitting between the girls..
and we would have had a three ring circus. Now if Clempson can pull the miracle on the Hill.. everything would be perfect.

And the bulk of the complain was being done in the FIRST half when all if the calls were going against us.
How about you quit worrying about what people complain about. Everyone had their own opinions and yours is no better our wise than anyone else’s
01/26/2014 at 3:33 PM #38650ILPackfanParticipantGood win, especially given the 11/20 from the charity stripe. Interesting playing time with Tyler today–did Cat Barber even play in the overtime?
01/26/2014 at 3:34 PM #38651Tau837ParticipantSo it looks like Tyler played the last 6 minutes of regulation and the entire OT, meaning Cat was on the bench for that entire stretch. Is that right? I’m guessing Cat played more minutes total for the game, but that is quite a turnaround for Gott down the stretch. And it was the right move.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out going forward. I’m guessing Cat still starts but Tyler will get into games earlier, at which point their effectiveness will dictate how much they play after their first stretches.

That is what I would like to see happen but we will see.
Last year when zo came back I thought we would see more Wbs than we did
01/26/2014 at 3:39 PM #38654WufpackerParticipantPack Ladies with a 7 point lead in ATL with under 10 to play…in case anyone cares.
01/26/2014 at 3:39 PM #38655bill.onthebeachParticipantWhat won this game was….
1. GOTT’s move to the 2/3 zone
2. TEAM BALL — well rounded effort on both ends of the court.
3. NO QUIT — we played the OT as hard and as under control as the first five minutes….
4. Tyler Lewis….Refs not a factor.
However… I will say from here it appeared that there was one ref who looked a little inexperienced and hestitant… Didn’t recognize him…Don’t know his name… Next time I see him he needs to be on the court at DII or JUCO to get some seasoning.

After my first post, all of my posts were either about the ongoing game action or in response to someone else commenting on one of my posts. I have given my opinions and never said mine is better than anyone else’s. Nor have I insulted anyone or given a nasty tone to any of my posts, which is more than can be said of others, including you.
Apparently my first “enough whining about the refs” post, which I did not direct at anyone specifically, touched a nerve. Lesson learned. I will never again question, criticize, or complain about SFN members complaining about the officiating.

I disagree. The calls were different the second half than the first. You can say they evened or but there is no doubt imo it was a factor.
The rest I agree with
01/26/2014 at 3:45 PM #38660BJD95KeymasterThe refs did let BOTH SIDES play the last 10 minutes plus OT. Completely inconsistent from how the first 30 were called (and that was not called for both sides).

I told you it was a pet peeve of mine.
But I did go overboard with the name calling. For that I am sorry
01/26/2014 at 3:49 PM #38662Tau837ParticipantOK, no worries.

I agree.
Weirdly, in the FIRST half they shoot more threes and more free throws. In the second glad the same was for us. That seems very counterintuitive to me.

I didn’t really keep track of it, but one thing that would contribute to that is if they were getting offensive rebounds and getting fouled in the process of getting them or going back up to shoot, or even passing out and catching us out of defensive position, leading to reaches, etc. They killed us on the offensive boards (18-9), not sure if that was a factor in the first half fouls.
01/26/2014 at 3:56 PM #38666bill.onthebeachParticipantOK Rick … whatever…
glad you girls kissed and made up…This has me curious…
1. Tech stayed in the game in the first half with there outside shooting and free throws on those jump shots…
2. GOTT went to the 2/3 Zone in the second half… but VANDWAGON (7 footer) rides the pines..
3. Tech doesn’t get the outside shoots… instead Daniel Miller (7 footer) keeps Tech in the game in the paint.Game goes down to the wire with both teams fighting hard. Could have gone either way.
Some thing is missing here…
