I don’t know that much about MLB but with Strasburg and those other horses up in DC its hard not see this as an upgrade for Turner. The move sucks, not having any influence in critical decisions impacting your career SUCKS… but this may be a move for the best as long as is still on the field in DC
Would rather see him playing on the Yards in the Inner Harbor @ Baltimore, but I think the Birds are pretty solid @ SS – plus, he still gets to wear the Red & White.

Don’t feel too bad for Turner. As ‘Dog pointed out, Pads are doing right by him. And $2.9M in the bank softens the blow I’m sure. With that kind of scratch he can probably sublet Francis Underwood’s row house.
This just strikes me as unfortunate timing. He’ll be in DC in two months. The Nats will still be looking up at the Cards though 😉
Knights are smoking the White Sox right now…with Rodon pitching for the Knights. Up 5-1. State was in town this week and couldn’t go, but wish I’d paid attention for tonight and I would have gone to the game…

9-1…and it’s not over…Headed to Chicago in about 10 days…Wish the Cubs were in town…Any of you have Chicago and Memphis tips? Headed to Nashville afterwards, but know my agenda there(thanks to SFN tips a few years ago).

I hate it that Rodon didn’t stick with the big club. I know it wasn’t strictly a baseball decision, but it still stinks. The guy clearly earned a spot this spring. The good news is he will be back up before too long. I’m sure of that.
This has absolutely fu(&hi?g nothing to do with ncs s$-t. And State Fans pls don’t ever use that concept again . It is so counterproductive to our cause.
Rodon will be back very quickly. Tonight was a test and balance the pitching talent in an exhibition game. He’ll be back in a week or so.

Went to see the Pack take on #8 FSU, pitching was great, but a fielding error the first cost us a 1-0 setback, and also lost to them Thursday nite, by 1, in 3-2 game. Hopefully we find a way to close out Saturday with a victory. Ever so close, just got to get over the hump.
So the baseball/softball teams finally beat FSU in their finallies. Way to go. FSU ranked 8th in baseball/softball national polls.
Highstick, re: Chicago, I assume you were referring to food. If you like Chicago deep dish pizza, Bella Bacino’s on Wacker Drive (about 1/2 block west of Michigan Ave) is the best anywhere for my money. Love that place. For steaks or ribs I’d go with Carson’s (corner or Wells and Ontario streets).
I don’t know Memphis, but I’d think you’d have to go BBQ.

At one time I frequented a bar (non-nudie, just so we’re clear) on Drinker St. in the Scr/WB area.

Turner has yet to be assigned. If the Pads need to get a kid to AA, they will send him to Lake Elsinore, high A.
…But, they gave him 2 weeks with the big club this Spring. I call that honorable.
Or is that “Whacker” Drive.. Wife is with me so I’ll have to be nice, until I get to Nashville. Last time we were there, I told her she had only two things to deal with…One was not counting how many beers I drank, and the other was she had to get herself back up the hill from Broadway because I would not be able to drag her! She did good!

Dunmore, PA. A somewhat short stopover b/w NC and AZ. The ex’s hometown. ‘Nuff said.
Took in more than a few Red Barons’ games with the 2nd coolest Yanks fan on the planet, my then next door neighbor, during the summer of ’97. Even got to the Bronx a couple times.
