Good news for Pack fans as the Colts definitely appear to be gearing up to make quite a run in the NFL.
Has it really been FOUR YEARS?
The Colts signed former Bronco Nate Irving, an unrestricted free agent who spent his past four seasons in Denver. Irving started all three of the Broncos’ playoff games on their way to Super Bowl XLVIII two years ago and the first eight games of the 2014 season before an ACL tear placed him on injured reserve.
Due to that injury, it’s uncertain if Irving will be able to participate in offseason workouts with the Colts. He is, however, expected to be ready for training camp in late July.
Irving had also visited the Arizona Cardinals during free agency, and had an offer on the table, according to a source, before eventually deciding to sign a three-year deal with the Colts.
In a Week 1 game vs. the Colts last September, Irving had five tackles and a sack on Andrew Luck in the Broncos’ 31-24 victory. The former third-round pick has totaled 104 tackles in four seasons in Denver.
Irving could contend for a starting spot at inside linebacker. Of the two starters from last season, D’Qwell Jackson is under contract and Jerrell Freeman is expected to return.
