FINALLY make some free throws down the stretch and we pull it out!
Oddly enough, this was a better win than last years UNC game. We had control of that game up by like 24, but somehow let them get it back to 4 with 4 minutes left. TJ was unstoppable, though.
01/11/2015 at 3:59 PM #69086bill.onthebeachParticipantFor those of you who can’t be totally satisfied with anything…
ask yourselves this…Will the PACK have anything Left for the Holes on Thursday?
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/11/2015 at 4:04 PM #69087BJD95KeymasterI am completely drained. Need some coffee for my Broncos. A little pyrrhic, given that they have maybe a 1% chance in Foxboro, but I owe PeyPey my respectful attention.
Love the swagger we had for this game. You would have thought WE were the #2 team in the country.
01/11/2015 at 4:06 PM #69088pakfanistanParticipantCody’s +/- for the game was…..25. HFS.
01/11/2015 at 4:06 PM #69089SaccoVParticipantAgreed, Bill. The real question isn’t this win, but what our energy and play will be like against the Asterisk on Wednesday. Gott again won the post-game interview by saying we have to maintain that level of play throughout the season. Wednesday to me, and I hope to the team, is a MUST-WIN!
01/11/2015 at 4:08 PM #69090ancsu87ParticipantBad decision, but at least he hit the freebies.
Cat’s decision to drive the lane when it was open was the correct one. You don’t hold a lead trying to run a four corners unless your a pussy. Besides isn’t what he did the exact thing people have been bitching about him not doing?
01/11/2015 at 4:09 PM #69091bill.onthebeachParticipantCoach in the post game radio Fluffer says…
“Cat was struggling in the first half … and we went with Trevor at the point guard a lot longer than normal…”
botb says… “Coach … look at the scoreboard… now … look at it again… has the light come on yet? “

Especially the swagger by the bigs. When they start to play consistently the same as they did today then we are a much much better team and we can even understand what offense we are trying to run.
01/11/2015 at 4:12 PM #69093pakfanistanParticipantAlso, Cody had 5 assists. If there is justice in this world, we won’t lose the twins before they run out of eligibility.
01/11/2015 at 4:13 PM #69094wufpup76KeymasterTwin B = CJ Williams
I like this comparison. Fantastic court game today from Cody Martin – he was all over the court and just great out there. Really helped the team D today.
Gonna be tough for them to not be at least somewhat flat on Wednesday night – let’s hope it doesn’t happen at all, but if it does hopefully they can snap out of it quickly. Another win on Wednesday would be ginormous.

this…
and the kids “feel” like the number two team in the country right now…now coach is telling them… remember what this feels like and remember what it felt like to get to this point…
remember that first place (Beej’s swagger) and we will find this place again on Thursday night (total victory) …
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/11/2015 at 4:17 PM #69097bill.onthebeachParticipantLacey “had” to go back on the floor at the end…
It’s in his DNA…. he would have gone out with a cast on his leg if Coach woulda let him..
His team mates wanted him out there too..I don’t think he actually touched the ball, but the Dookies were thinking of him…
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/11/2015 at 4:18 PM #69098Since74ParticipantWe only beat one top 5 team this week and missed one of our last 8 free throws. Fire Gott and send Cat to Siberia!!
^^^^^
I’m in the club now, right?01/11/2015 at 4:24 PM #69099TheCOWDOGModerator“…the problem as I see it, is our bigs play small…”
Sorry, I had to do it.
01/11/2015 at 4:26 PM #69100bill.onthebeachParticipant^HA !!!
———
Cuz… did you notice the High Post was Open all day…
more than any game this season…I wonder how that happened ?
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/11/2015 at 4:26 PM #69101Since74ParticipantGet ’em CD.
I’m sorry too.
01/11/2015 at 4:29 PM #69103bill.onthebeachParticipant” the problem as I see it… is with Coach GOTT what you see is what you GOTT..”
… couldn’t resist … now that Mr. Dog with the ‘cut block’ has opened a gaping hole in the defensive line…
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/11/2015 at 4:32 PM #69104BJD95KeymasterOur bigs were giant today. They were not in Hooville.
It’s almost like MG uses bad games as a learning/teaching experience. I really am starting to like him. No coincidence that Cat was the guy he singled out to embrace after the final whistle.

I thought the same thing. Did you see him hug Cat around the neck at the 5 sec mark?
01/11/2015 at 4:44 PM #69108BJD95Keymaster^ Yes, I did.
01/11/2015 at 4:46 PM #69110tractor57ParticipantSo Gottfried teams can’t play defense?
01/11/2015 at 4:49 PM #69111TexpackParticipantI hope we double the post against the Cheaters. Our bigs are more aware of what’s going on when we do that. I can’t stop with Cody Martin. Fantastic floor awareness. knows when to go and when to hold up. He’s not afraid either
01/11/2015 at 4:51 PM #69113WufpackerParticipantBad decision, but at least he hit the freebies.

Given the overall situation (ie, the time factor) in the game, I’ll have to disagree. It was time to kick it back out, reset, and bleed some clock; not force a shot in the paint against a bigger defender. And he wouldn’t have been fouled had the lane been open.
But that’s how we learn.
01/11/2015 at 4:52 PM #69114bill.onthebeachParticipant.. Beej && 87 … there’s no “almost” about it…
Prior to this game Dook had only been behind 11 minutes in all their games and the biggest deficit they faced was just 6 points….
Coach Rat sat on his hands for most of the second half, did not go to his bag of tricks, and left his young kids out on the floor to figure this one out for themselves…
(what it takes, how far you have to reach deep inside yourself, to win a game when you’re down by 15-18 with 10 minutes left…)
Because from the kids perspective “you can’t win this game… if you haven’t first lost this game…”
and it’s much better to lose it now and to State than to xNC or sometime in March…First and foremost, this is a “player development and team building business” and that means sometimes you let them lose…
Coach Rat does it, Uncle Roy does it, Gott does it… all the successful coaches do it… regularly…That’s what he thinking here…
Some fans will find this hard to understand.#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/11/2015 at 4:55 PM #69115Since74ParticipantAnyone got a site where I can watch the replay? Had to be on the road and caught the end on the radio.
