athleticism is there, but the bball skills and acumen don’t seem to be. With a #1 PG coming in next year I’m fine accepting a down year and giving a mulligan. I don’t think this will be a tourney team but that’s okay as long as we take a step forward next year.
I am not convinced we will make great strides. I see the same issues next year and possibly even fewer big men.

Almost verbatim my thoughts as well.
As far as our own smoking crater…it’s a hard thing to watch. I get why we’re slow out of the gate, and I do see flashes of competence. But we’re nearing the point of “you are what your record says you are”. Perhaps “nearing” is an understatement.
I can’t fault our effort, which is the part that bothers me and makes me all pessimisticallish. It’s time for a come to Jesus meeting and see who’s willing and/or able to pull out of this funk by sheer force of will. I’m afraid what the answer may be regarding “able”, however.
As far as expectations/potential, it’s too early to pack it in, no doubt. But admittedly, I’m more pessimistic way more early than since Gott came to town.

I seriously question Gottfried and his ability to develop players. I’ve seen only 2 improve under him and you have to question just how much was MG and how much was them.
Our big men seem to stand around a lot on offense and I’ve never seen so many 3 foot shots not go down. I’m pretty depressed by what I’ve seen so far this season. If the rest of the team doesn’t soon step up, Cat will feel he has to do it all.
