OK….
I’m thinking we all needed 24 hours to ‘adjust’ to the Wolfpack’s quick exit yesterday….
It was a helluva season for Coach Keatts and his kids…
And one of the best here at SFN…Stranger Things – The Conclusion:
Ya’ll know we went Thirty Three games with nobody saying anything really stupid, nobody getting their feelings hurt and no name calling … including the HereButNotHere crowd!!!
That’s got to a record of some sort…
———————Anyways… Now… we all can sit back and watch the show with no pressure…
Plenty of good games coming up…
So as far as I can tell we’re almost two days in with no noteworthy upsets…The only groundrule is…
‘We don’t talk ’bout the HOLES unless they’re losing….’
I’m thinking the field needs to thin out first… then ya’ll can pick the Team for the “Shadow Pack” to follow….
———————
So while we waiting for the tonight’s late ACC games to unfold…
has anybody got a bracket that ain’t been busted….
I don’t.POP!!!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!03/16/2018 at 10:26 PM #133109WulfpackParticipantI still can get 14 out of 16 and all four final four picks still alive so not busted.
03/16/2018 at 11:03 PM #133113MrPlywoodParticipantI’m there with ya Wulf, 14/16 (missed the Shockers and Miami) 220 pts, 1600 PPR with all 4 finalists alive.
03/16/2018 at 11:22 PM #133114bill.onthebeachParticipantI know ya’ll are glued to this one…
With 4 minutes to play in the Second Half..
UMBC – whoever they are — 56
‘#1 Hoos – 44It that holds, I’m sure that counts as a “Noteworthy Upset”…
POP!!!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!03/16/2018 at 11:38 PM #133116bill.onthebeachParticipantEverybody’s brackets are busted now….
‘hoos go down by 20 to UMBC!!!*
Final 74-54*UMBC – University of Maryland in Baltimore County…
Those kids must have channeled Lefty for this game…
After 4 minutes, it was never close and the outcome never really in doubt…Thanks ‘hoos — you just cost everybody else in the ACC a couple hundred thousand dollars…
POP!!!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!03/16/2018 at 11:57 PM #133118MrPlywoodParticipantWTF UVA?
03/17/2018 at 12:09 AM #133119bill.onthebeachParticipantmore bracket busting…
In a game the Wahoos would have been proud to play..
#11 Big Orange over #5 Jamie Dixon’s Horned Frogs by 5pts…FINAL:
‘cuse – 57
Frogs -52===============
Clempsom trying to stay above the fold…
Up 9 with 4:44 to play against New Mexico State…===============
In a toss up game…
#9 NOLES not yet challenged by #8Missouri…
up 13 with 16 to play…POP!!!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!03/17/2018 at 12:21 AM #133120bill.onthebeachParticipantTiggers win by 11…
NOLES up by 11 with 11 plus to play…
It’s way past 11 EDT…
Good Night Gents!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!03/17/2018 at 2:10 AM #133121freshmanin83ParticipantUva visited the upside down and got stuck there for 40 min.
03/17/2018 at 5:30 AM #133122WulfpackParticipantYep, now my bracket is busted.
Cuse, FSU and Clemson won last night.
First time a 12 hasn’t beaten a 5.
03/17/2018 at 5:38 AM #133123WulfpackParticipantSouth Region opens up for Cincy and UK.
03/17/2018 at 5:47 AM #133124WulfpackParticipantAnd let me just say – as good as Bennett has been at UVa (and he has been ridiculously good),something is really wrong for him come the NCAA Tourney. It may be that with as hard as they play, they are just gassed. I don’t know.
03/17/2018 at 7:47 AM #133125rthomas44ParticipantHow do you explain it? Where is reason for the egg laid by Va??? How embarrassing!!!
03/17/2018 at 8:25 AM #133126GoldenChainParticipantThe good news is our lackluster flat performance was dwarfed by that butt kicking UVa took last night! Holy Cow!
Plus we were on ‘house money’ and UVa was #1 most of the season! Wound licking going on all over The Old Dominion today!(Side note: Some of UMd’s professional schools operate out of UMBC, my oldest got a law degree from there last May and since he was a Marine officer I appreciate you guys footing the bill for it, POP!)
Cuse, FSU, Clem’s son carry the ACC banner. Great wins by all, I stayed up and watched them all (well flicking back and forth between them and LivePD!)
03/17/2018 at 8:33 AM #133127Fastback68ParticipantLook at the box score for UVA. They lose to hot 3 pointer teams and they were out rebounded. The former understandable the latter unforgivable.
03/17/2018 at 8:34 AM #133128bill.onthebeachParticipantThe ‘hoos faithful are excusing their team’s performance last night with De’Andre Hunter’s absense….
That might explain losing a close game, but not by 20….
I’ll give ’em -5 for Hunter sitting on the bench and -15 for being over confident — there’s no shortage of arrogance in Charlottesville you know…
Here’s the sidebar… UMBC’s Head Coach Ryan Odom is the son of former UVA coach Dave Odom…
As if the game was special enough for all the UMBC Retrievers — that’s an automatic 2 for 1 for Ryan Odom…GO LADY PACX!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!03/17/2018 at 8:36 AM #133129WulfpackParticipantI am liking Nova’s chances more and more.
03/17/2018 at 8:44 AM #133130WulfpackParticipantFSU and Cuse will be ousted in the second round. Kansas will take care of Clemson (if they get by Aubie). That leaves you know who.
03/17/2018 at 8:59 AM #133131GoldenChainParticipantThat’s why I didn’t mention ’em.
03/17/2018 at 9:02 AM #133132WulfpackParticipantI’m just saying the way the matchups are lining up those three won’t be carrying the ACC banner for long.
03/17/2018 at 10:05 AM #133133TheAliasTrollParticipantI feel embarrassed FOR UVA. Not sure how that happened. Evidence of divine intervention? I do agree with Wulfpack above, they have been lousy in the big tournament.
Due to #16 beating a #1 seed Little Caesar’s will be giving away free lunch combo. Now you all can never say I didn’t do nuthin for ya! -> We All Win Free Pizza
03/17/2018 at 10:15 AM #133134GoldenChainParticipantWulf, come on man. I wasn’t predicting Cuse, FSU or Clem’s son were locks for the Final 4 ……Gesus
I am old school and pull for the conference (other than unx, I hope they lose every game).
03/17/2018 at 11:10 AM #133135WulfpackParticipantLining up to be a dud for ACC.
03/17/2018 at 11:58 AM #13313613OTParticipantBack in the 1980s, before there was a 64-team field, the #1-seeded team in the entire tourney (probably 48 teams then), lost the tourney opener to the bottom-seeded team (unbeaten DePaul losing on a buzzer-beater to St. Joe’s, 51-49). I remember DePaul Coach Ray Meyer holding his hands to his head and crying over and over, OH NOOOOO!!
The only sports upsets I’ve seen that I’d rate ahead of last night were the 1980 Lake Placid hockey win over the Russians and the Jets beating the Colts in Super Bowl III. Last night ranks right up there with Billy Mills, Buster Douglas, “Down Goes Frazier!!!!!!!!!!!” and Kirk Gibson’s home run off Dennis Eckersley. I was too young to remember Bobby Thomson’s 1951 homer to help “The Giants Win The Pennant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Last night tops the UVA loss to Chaminade, because I think Ralph Sampson is the most overrated player I ever saw in college. Period. Bennett handled the loss with class, however.
03/17/2018 at 12:03 PM #133137bill.onthebeachParticipantLining up to be a dud for ACC
I’m not so sure ’bout that…
I’m thinking… One ACC team is likely be in the final four, perhaps two…
Dook would be ‘likely’ and 1 ‘un-named’ ‘perhaps’….Based on the FACT that, as a general rule, certeris parabus …
NCAA Tournament Coaching experience > Seedings…Once you’re in the Final Four — anybody can win the Championship…
GO LACY PACK!
