The defense has given up 409 yards and 31 points, and Clemson also missed a FG. That includes giving up 218 rushing yards, where rushing defense is supposed to be a strength. The defense has allowed Clemson to convert 3rd and 4th downs above 50% today (9/17).
Meanwhile, the offense has scored 28 points and gained 423 yards and counting against a top 10 defense in the country.
Both units have had mixed results, but, all in all, IMO the defense has been more disappointing so far.
D was on the field too much imo. In 2nd half.
Hines is playing as a ‘decoy’ today….
not 50%, much less 100%…

Two weeks in a row it feels like we got the raw end of the officiating, but in reality we just lost to two better teams.

bill agreed – it hurts but I’m not upset. Fine college FB game and we are close. Will we get there? Who knows but pound some TarHeel ass and I’m good for this year.
I am on the way home after spending all day and half the night with former teammies, and some that played before us. All smiles in between the damns and sh*ts.
Senior laden team. Things were aligned for us to have a special season. 8-4 here we come.

5:15am- SSS, leave Georgia for Raleigh.
6:20- pick up Clempson buddy in Westminster SC.
8:30- Cross into Old North State on I 85
10:00- two BBQ sandwiches at Honey Monks in Lexington
11:45- pull into RV lot
11:46-3:05- knock down beer, oysters, more BBQ and tell many dirty jokes
3:19- notice first pair of hooker leather boots on millennial co-eds at State
3:30-7:30- game was interesting. I thought Dapper Dave coached a decent game. Lost special teams and kicking game again. Punt return was the difference. Iām not sure about the calls but the clip call on the long pass play is unheard of historically. Very bad read on the long run. Push off by their wideout and a follow up interference call against State was another odd flag.
So the difference is: punt return, short field pick thrown by Finley and the 85 yard run. That is 21 easy points, good teams do not allow that.
7:45-leave Raleigh
9:26-Hit Honey Monks again for two more BBQ sandwiches. They close at 9:30.
11:30- coffee at truck stop at in SC. Lot lizard arguing about discount dounuts with store manager, FIGHT!!!
12:45- throw trash out at Clempson exit.
1:25- drop Clempson buddy off at his house.
1:47- piss off bridge into Talluah River on SC/GA line.
2:10- walk through door.
Hellva day and YES. I condone the throwing of bottles and trash at the referees at the end of the game.
