ParticipantThere is going to be a ton of movement this week and the weeks to follow. This particular carousel is likely to be unlike any other (Les Miles, anyone?). You like dominoes? Watch them fall. Va Tech quickly filled their opening with Memphis’ Fuente.
Here are your Power Five current openings (and many more to follow soon):
South Carolina
Southern Cal
Miami
Maryland
Syracuse
Mizzou
Iowa State11/29/2015 at 12:15 PM #93594Wulfpack
ParticipantAdd Virginia to the list.

ParticipantToledo’s Matt Campbell fills the opening at Iowa State, a day after Toledo made him an offer to be the highest paid MAC coach.
These are very quick hires.

ParticipantUGa fires Richt
11/29/2015 at 12:34 PM #93600Wulfpack
ParticipantGeorgia has fired coach Mark Richt, a family source tells ESPN’s Mark Schlabach.
Richt has been the Bulldogs coach for 15 seasons and taken Georgia to a bowl game in each of the past 14 years. The Bulldogs are bowl eligible again in 2015 after a 9-3 regular season. He would pick up his 10th double-digit-win season with a bowl victory.
Even so, the Bulldogs are having a disappointing season after starting as the clear-cut favorite in the SEC East only to get blown out by Alabama and Florida.

ParticipantYou would have to think Richt will receive serious consideration from South Carolina and Mizzou.

ParticipantShoot Richt to UVa sounds about right as well. He just may want out of the SEC if it isn’t a top job.
11/29/2015 at 1:14 PM #93608Wulfpack
ParticipantAdd Rutgers to the list (terrible job).
11/29/2015 at 1:18 PM #93609LRM
KeymasterRicht played at Miami. That’d be a home run hire for them (although maybe not for him).

ParticipantPotential Georgia candidates are reported to be:
Kirby Smart, Bama
Dan Mullen, Miss State
Tom Herman, Houston
Mike Bobo, Colorado State
Greg Schiano11/29/2015 at 2:43 PM #93619wolfpackdawg
ParticipantHerman is the only one I would be excited about.

ParticipantWould take some pain away if the Hat and his side kick, Gene (aka the real unc head coach), both jump ships… if only Hat goes I could see Gene getting his rightful title as HC.
For better or worse we’re in no trouble in having Dave poached away.
11/29/2015 at 4:43 PM #93633Wulfpack
ParticipantHouston’s Herman showing a strong interest in the Georgia job.

Nope. What is it that they say about the market speaking?

That’s a fake twitter account spreading that.

KeymasterVirginia Tech hires Justin Fuente from Memphis to replace Frank Beamer
Looks like a good hire to me

That’s a fake twitter account spreading that.
Herman announced today at his weekly presser that he had reached an agreement in principle to continue the HTownTakeover by remaining in the Scenic Third Ward. Got my tickets for the AAC Championship game on Saturday and made flight arrangements to get back in time for the 11 am kick off.

ParticipantMiami met with Schiano yesterday and plans to make a decision by Wednesday.

ParticipantCanes talk to Butch, Mullen and Richt. Not a bad trio there.
12/01/2015 at 9:47 PM #93927Wulfpack
ParticipantESPN reporting Kirby Smart will be Georgia’s next coach.
That didn’t take long.
12/01/2015 at 10:10 PM #93932Wulfpack
ParticipantCal coach Sonny Dykes is interviewing st Mizzou. Missouri athletic director Mack Rhoades interviewed Dykes last year, when he was searching for a new coach at Houston.
You may recall Dykes was on our list when he was at La Tech.

ParticipantWould just like to reiterate that these hires thus far have been extremely decisive and quick (UGA won’t announce the hiring until after the SEC Championship, but it is a done deal).

ParticipantSome think because smart is a saban protege, he’s a lock for success. I’m not so sure. He’ll either pull a Dabo and make noise early and become the second coming of Vince Dooley or he’ll pull a muschamp. Kirby is smart but a first gig in Athens where you played ain’t no joke, even for a Ga boy. Will be interesting to see what kind of staff he puts together
