So here we are. The Cards have a very realistic shot at 100 wins – without Wainwright – and they still haven’t clinched the division. 7 games to play and their magic number is 6. The Pirates have most likely clinched a non-wildcard playoff spot, and the Cubs have clinched at least a wild-card. The Cubs. So the Central has 3 teams in. The Nationals have a 0.00% chance to make the playoffs (ha!) I don’t know if I would have put money on any of those scenarios.
The Cards have a winning record against the likely playoff teams, but it will be tight no matter who they play.
I’m ready for the real baseball to begin!
And just like that, the Cards lose Martinez for the rest of the season.
Yup. Replacement ace, and the team’s co-heart and soul (with Yadi, who may also be done, that TBD) finished for the season.
I shall care about baseball again in April.
Best of luck to the Jays and whoever is against the Small Bears.

Eliminated by virtue of a 3 game sweep at the hands of the O’s in DC.
Just saying.
Gotta take solace where it’s available.

I”m hoping the Molina Mojo will pull him through
^^That 3 -game sweep felt good for a little bit.
Indeed. 27 straight goose eggs in beantown is humbling.
But at least there’s 13 more Ravens’ losses to look forward to.
Balmer should look into repurposing Springfield’s “Malaise Forever” statue in honor of Flacco.
